Awesome memories of growing up in the 80's. I couldn't get enough of MTV & Night Tracks along with "Friday Night Videos" & BET's Video Soul then VH-1 came along. Since they don't exist anymore, I now noticed I grew up during a unique time. I fell sorry for today's generation. And yeah that Lou Reed commercial is so legendary cool , Martha Quinn my favorite VJ & what else can you say about "Back To The Future", CLASSIC!!!

The 80s. A pure, unadulterated blast. My God, what a decade. I came of age then and wouldn't trade my experiences for anything. Only downside? No other era can possibly compare. Probably a good thing. Were those decades that followed so fun, I'd be dead. LOL

LIKEWISE! In my opinion, looking back, we've COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER OR GREATER DECADE/ERA THAN THE 80s! In my opinion, the 80s WERE, and ALWAYS WILL BE, "THE PINNACLE OF CIVILZATION!" In my opinion, Cher said it BEST, "If I could turn back time!"

For those who REMEMBER VJ Martha Quinn, she also starred in Problem Child 2(getting "LIT UP" by the doorbell). She always was a cutie.Another piece of VJ history:Nina Blackwood playing a hooker in the 1982 movie "Vice Squad".Anybody besides me remember these cameos.Reply back.

I remember "Night Tracks" on WTBS, "Friday Night Videos" on NBC affiliates, and there was a video program that ran about four hours on Friday and Saturday night the USA Network but the name escapes me no. Heck it's been over 25 years though.

@@ChadQuick270W I loved that show! It was creative, original -- unpredictable! I loved that it wasn't just an hour. I recall the show running from, like, 10 or 11 p.m. till 3 or 4 in the morning. It was a whole pop-culture package that was well written and well narrated. I forget the name of the lady who did the narration, but she had a perfect radio/documentary voice. Night Flight was like the late-night TV version of the internet -- 10 or 15 years ahead of its time! Apparently, there's a new shorter version of it that airs on the cable network IFC, on Friday nights. It might be worth checking out.

"St Elmo's Fire." About a bunch of pretentious, annoying people. I still think of it kindof fondly though because it's the 80s. But it's certainly no "Breakfast Club."

St. Elmo's Fire is such a terrible movie. So cringeworthy even then, now multiply by a factor of 10.
