Miss Rev should be a 5/5! Her handler lives with her 24/7, going to everything with her. If she barks in class, that means she’s bored. Everyone has to get dismissed! She’s also the highest ranking member in their corps of cadets, such a good girl.

Fun fact about Reveille, pronounced REV-A-LEE, goes to every class with a chose corps cadet all year. The cadet takes care of the dog and cares for it at all times. If the dog barks during class the teacher is required to dismiss the class for the day no matter how far in it they are.
I only had 1 class with Lady Rev while I was a student, but she was very well behaved, unfortunately 😂 Reveille VIII was around during my years.

The Blue Blob is my favorite thing about Xavier basketball games! Fun fact: he has a giant red tongue that flips out of his mouth and waves around. ALSO, when the cheerleaders tumble the blue blob tucks into a little ball and rolls down the length of the court behind them.

I used to go to a community college where I saw a guy in a banana suit on a skateboard everyday and he carried a box of Raisin Bran. He would ride up to you and put a handful of Raisin Bran in your hand then ride away. Best mascot.

As a Badgers fan, I was ecstatic to see Kieth rate Bucky so high. He deserves it. Fun fact: at football games the Bucky mascot will do pushups equal to the new total score after every score from the Badgers. During blowouts this means that Bucky has to do dozens of pushups at once so they usually have at least one person on standby to take over being Bucky if the person needs a break

That's the old UConn mascot suit. Jonathon used to be an all white Husky, but about 10 years ago they went back to the black and white husky and rebranded everything! There is also a real Husky that goes to everything and everyone loves him. Jonathan XIV retired today! And now we have Jonathan XV. The last all white Husky was Jonathan XIII.

Literally the same for UW lol they must have just used the first picture on google images because Harry the Husky looks way different these days. We also have a live mascot! Dubs II has been on the field since Dubs I retired in 2018!

As a Purdue alum:
1. All the ppl in the dorm despise the Boilermaker special. It drives around at like 5 or 6 am tooting it's horn on weekends.
2. We do have a mascot that goes to games called Purdue Pete, which is much less cool.

wait but the reason why Aubie the Tiger is skinny is so that he can wear outfits!!! Aubie wears a tuxedo, a spiderman outfit, different jerseys, AND the head is small so that Aubie can do backflips and shit! Aubie is also the reigning NCAA mascot champion Keith, you gotta give him more than 2/5!

I have to point out that the University of Colorado does also have a live animal mascot. Ralphie is a real live buffalo who is run around the football field during big games. She is obviously not safe to have anywhere near the basketball court, and even for the football games, they have to have her run around for several hours to tire out before she can come into the stadium.
As a Penn Stater, I'm kinda relieved that Dear Old State isn’t on the list, cause I dont think I could handle Keith laying into the Nittany Lion

Purdue also has a mini version of the train called the “Extra Special” made out of a modified golf cart, and it does go on the basketball court!

Fun fact about the Kansas Jayhawks: the mascot is a combo between a bluejay and a red tailed hawk, and the name became infamous during the pre-civil war days as "jayhawkers" were people who openly fought against border ruffians to keep our state free.

Couple things…Texas A&M’s mascot is pronounced Rev-uh-Lee, she’s a girl and she’s also the highest ranking member of the Corps of Cadets. Also, the former Ms.Revs are memorialized outside of Kyle Field (our football stadium).
As a Xavier student, I can concur that the Blob is chased around. They are 10/10 mascots

My dad was actually one of the engineers that built the Purdue’s boilermaker special and the extra special. It’s pretty cool!
My friend used to be the driver for it years ago and would drive it back home a few hours away for parades and other events. It was always so cool

My cities team are normally the Ems, but a few games a year they are the Exploding Whales, in honor of a beached whale that was blown up by dynamite in the 70s which ended as bad as you would expect. The mascot is so cute, though, he's a blue whale holding a stick of dynamite as a bat
The Purdue train offers rides around campus! And there’s a mini one that goes into the buildings and basketball games!! It’s called the boilermaker special. Purdue Pete is also a mascot there but he’s a little scary lol
every time i hear a new story about purdue main campus i just feel a little bit sadder about having picked to go to the fort wayne campus instead 😭😭

i love how this is for basketball season but nearly all of the photos are from baseball/football games lmao. some sports just support their mascots better lol.
i also am not a fan of having just a real animal as a mascot. in addition to can be fun, but not solo. you basically guarantee that the mascot can't regularly attend, and inevitably tie the mascot(meant to lift morale) to grief and loss.
FYI: Xavier’s Blue Blob has a big, red tongue that pops out (the students arm from within pushes it out) and “licks” people. Also, he does somersaults from one end of the court to the other. He is AMAZING!
Miami hurricanes mascot- the reason they chose the ibis is because its the last bird to leave before a hurricane. Ibis are typically white in florida. We dont have the tropical pretty varieties lol
fun fact - I was a judge for a mascot competition in which 4 local mascots were trying out for the mascot position for the RI football club. I got this job by accident and miraculously showed up on time at 8:30 in the morning WILDLY hungover. it was a fever dream🤷🏻♀️

As a life long resident of Pullman, (home of WSU) Butch is not much to look at but he's the best! He used to just randomly show up at the elementary schools to take pictures and hand out t-shirts and sports tickets to the kids. He also dressed as Marty McFly and carried a hoverboard to every game for the entire year of 2015 since it was Back to the Future year

Purdue has a second mascot for actual in game called Purdue Pete but if your around a Purdue game there’s a chance you see the train driving on the road
Did he miss the Maryland Terps? Also, the Dayton mascot is wearing a flight jacket with a scarf. The whole theme is related to the Wright Brothers being from Dayton, OH.
FYI Auburn's beloved Aubie the Tiger mascot secured his 11th national title from the UCA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships in Orlando earlier this month.

My family has a HUGE university of Illinois legacy. I didn't end up going but my brother did, and I've always been a HUGE fan and proponent of the kingfisher. It's the school colors, it's a native bird, it's unique and pretty fearsome compared to some other bird mascots! I've seen graphic design of it and everything and it's soooo good!
As a massive try guys fan and also a Louisiana Tech alumni, I’m absolutely desperate for you to know we do have a traditional mascot named Champ.
Tech the bulldog is Tech XXII and he drives around the stadium in a custom car that the engineering department built for him

as a girl who lives on a farm with 2 pigs, the “hair” on pigs is not at all soft like human hair. can confirm it’s very rough and coarse, usually carrying lots of dirt and debris. Also! each strand is probably about 20x as thick as human hair

I once went to a University of Oklahoma event in Dallas, and I was talking to a rep and she waved to someone behind us. I turned around and standing right behind me and my mom was one of the OU mascots and when I say my soul left my body for a moment......goddamn that was terrifying

Texas Tech has another mascot, the Masked Rider accompanied by their horse, which is currently Centennial Champion. A fun little tidbit is that the concept of the Masked Rider originated from a prank, and is also the first mascot of the university, with Raider Red coming along much later. I wish they included the Masked Rider in this.
As a North Carolina State University graduate (c/o ‘09), I enjoyed that Keith likes Mr. and Ms. Wuf. Like you said, they were married at a game, and you saw the officiant: Wake Forest’s Demon Deacon.
Also, big shout out to both the men’s and women’s basketball teams for making it to the Final Four! An amazing season, but a magical run for the men’s team who made one of the best March runs of all time!

As an LA Tech grad, gotta say that we’ve got two mascots. The costume bulldog mascot is called Champ! And then we’ve got the live dog, currently Tech XXII (yes, there have been 21 previous dogs).
Whoever chose the BYU Cosmo the Cougar picture did a terrible job at getting an actual good photo.
THIS!!! My husband and I were so disappointed, we usually love these videos and that was awful. We literally just Google searched Cosmo and scrolled a long while and Did Not find the picture they even used 💀

in high school my acapella group would occasionally be asked to come sing the national anthem at xavier basketball games and we would get to stay and watch the game and we were so in love with the blue blob. I can confirm he is so entertaining to watch. i'm glad keith recognizes his magic
I graduated undergrad from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (Goldy the Gopher mascot) and, anyone could try out to be goldy, but there were levels of different sport mascots depending on the talent of the person trying out. Aka, the more talented you are at being goldy, the more likely you are to be goldy at the football games and, other sports that are a bit more popular. It's probably similar for other schools. There are multiple goldy the gophers because there are so many sports and, events that it would probably be a full-time job if there weren't multiple people in the mascot role. Most of the time it's students that are the mascot so it kind of has to be multiple people. They hold try outs every year and it's always a fun time to hear if others are trying out. It's such a big school though that it would be difficult to know someone who was goldy or, it would most likely be in passing that you talked to someone who was goldy.
