    Thank you so much for demystifying the back and finishing of a woven pendant!! So many people never even show the backs of their pendants in photos because they don't want you to be able to figure out how they made them. I get it, but it's frustrating for someone who just wants to learn. And there's so few wire wrapping books! Bless you for sharing the craft. ✌

    I just finished three special cabs I got from a gem and mineral show three years ago with this design. I didn't know what to do with these cabs and I used them to apply this beautiful design. They turned out fabulous! Thank you so much for sharing your design and your teaching skills in clearly communicating instructions.I have found most tutorials are not very good at explaining things, but you did a good job and the end result are my three really cool pendants. Thank you again!

    I think it might help to explain what the next step is going to do or accomplish so it can be visualized ahead of time. Or why you change a pattern into another one and what the goal is. I’m not sure if that makes sense. Mainly when the bell started splitting into a V, I had no idea that’s where we were going until when we came back or you came back, it was a V and I didn’t really understand that I needed to let that be happening versus keeping it tight

    • @ellieshandcrafted
      @ellieshandcrafted  Pƙed rokem

      Thanks so much for your comment! I'll do my best to explain in the video more of the "why" I'm doing something.
      Most of the time, changing a pattern may be just for a different style throughout the piece or add strength. For example, in this pendant, the bail is woven for strength, while the frame is more decorative. The back is woven more to add support to the stone along the back.
      I am adding chapters to all of my future videos as well that will break down the tutorial more into steps so that, hopefully, you don't get lost as you progress through the video.
      I hope that helps! Feel free to leave questions anytime and I'll do my best to answer them. :)

    Hi again, can i ask one more question? What technics do you use for oxidation copper wire? I mean, i use copper wire too but they have copper colour and shiny. How can i make them look antique colours?

      Hi there! I use a solution called liver of sulphur gel to patina my pieces. You can find some here: amzn.to/3uhF9Aw. To use it, prepare about a cup of warm water in a glass bowl or used plastic container and add 1-2 drops of the gel and stir. Also prepare another solution of 1 cup cool water to 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Dip your piece into the liver of sulphur solution and let it sit until it darkens. (Don't put your hands in it and use in a well ventilated area). Once the piece is dark, remove it and put in the baking soda solution for a few seconds. (This will stop the liver of sulphur from further darkening the metal). Rinse with tap water. From there you can use 0000 fine steel wool and dish soap to gently remove the dark patina and polish with a sunshine polishing cloth. You can even use a rotary tool, if you want to invest in one. I hope that helps!
