  • MINIMALIST Landscape Photography at the Beach | Sony A7III 24-105mm f4 Landscape Photography Vlog
    In this landscape photography vlog I visit Currumbin Rock and focus on the more minimalist landscape photography subjects, photographing unique textures, patterns, shapes and contrasting elements throughout the sand, rocks and waves. Join me for some outdoor photography at the beach, minimalist photography can be a lot of fun especially minimalist seascape photography, give it a go if you haven't before.
    If you're into landscape photography in the field, photography tips and tricks, and gear videos, please SUBSCRIBE for more landscape photography vlogs.
    What ever you'd like to call this; minimalism, abstract photography, fine art photography...I find it really enjoyable to find the small details, and whilst these shots aren't amazing, it's fascinating to find so many beautiful/natural patterns in nature!

    A lovely set of images there Rauri and a nice relaxing video. I really like the abstract one at 6:12, and my favourite is at 4:43 - I love those colours and textures in the rock and the way the sand looks like waves. Speaking of sand, I can't believe how much more of it there is than when I was last there! It was completely cut out and I had to scramble up onto the rocks....such a dynamic beach so there's always something new! I hope you're feeling better now!

      Thanks a lot Lisa was fun to shoot these little scenes, as the light wasn’t anything too special. Haha I was expecting the sand levels to be lower, definitely were lower than when I was last there. Quite a dynamic spot that’s for sure! All better now thanks for checking in 😊 hope you’re well

    Good stuff Rauri! Really cool abstract shots, I really liked the ones of the rocks at the end especially the one that was rust coloured. I've always wanted to do some photos like this but we don't get the texture in our sand like that or the pools mainly because we don't have the big tidal movements here like you do there or up in the more northern latitudes. Just plain sand here. The 24-105 looks like a really versatile lens both for landscapes and seascapes! Really enjoyed it mate. Hope you and the fam are all doing well! Keep safe down there!

    And I thought you were taking a break this week!
    Love the one with the footprint. Kinda makes me think of the part of the Sistine (Sistene?) Chapel with the hand of God and the hand of man reaching for each other. I really like the composition of the one at 4:29. And 4:46 - that one should definitely be for sale on your upcoming website (hint hint). Love it!
    The one at 6:46 is interesting - discounted it at first, but then stated to feel it, had to come back and look again and... yeah... I think I like it. The qualities are more subtle, but I think it's quite well composed with the way the line in the sand mirrors the edge of the receding water, and the way you've positioned it in the frame really works well.
    7:32: wow, that texture is so cool! But I'm not a fan of the bottom left hand corner.
    With the one at 8:21 - I really liked the contrast between the blue stone and that red oxidised iron, but loved it even more when I mentally cropped up so that just the top 1/4 of the red was included. I guess that's the beauty of photography as an expressive medium - everyone sees things differently.
    Yeah, the square crop is nice for the algae shot.
    Some really nice shots in this one, that was a nice surprise this morning. 🙂

    • @RauriBarron
      @RauriBarron  Před 3 lety

      Thanks a lot Adam, I totally agree that often times these simpler images made for nicer clean prints. I need to do that one day … if I can find a good affordable website and sit down to make it. Appreciate the feedback on the images too, always great I know how others see my images, the Sistine chapel comparison is a great one!
      I’ll rewatch the video/time stamps whilst reading your feedback.
      I wasn’t expecting to upload this Sunday night, I had already made a start, but I sat down last night and I thought I could get the video out in an hour or so if I worked through it quickly. Nothing filmed this week though so I better get planning 😂 thanks again!

    How bizzare! I was asked to do a photo talk at short notice last week for a UK photo group on this very subject! I think it is a lot harder than it looks, and everyone's view on what is classed a minimal will be different. A quick comment on the images at 6:18 and 6:29 - lovely contrast in colour, but the empty sand is - well - empty. I think your image at 6:45 demonstrates this point as there is an item of interest that runs through the sand and gives the viewer something to look at. Imagine the other two images with a round pebble or something - anything just to help fill that empty space, especially if it "pointed" at the water. I presume that some of your freedoms are returning? Stay safe out there chap.
