    What a detailed review. I came to find out if it can be used in conjunction with DJI Osmo Mobile 6 without issue? But found out so much more. Tons more useful, helpful detail than other reviewers. This company should be very impressed with your review. I will purchase thru your link once I purchase the gimble. Something my old music teacher would say was scratch the mic don't tap it, its more gentle on the mic, less likely to cause any problems if its not set up correctly and you'll still be able to tell if the mic is working properly.

    That’s awesome that they sent you those to test. Have you used the new DJI wireless mics? They are amazing! I used those with the rode lav mics for my feature film I just filmed recently. I think their setup is definitely better than the Rode Go setup. Have you seen that filmic pro is subscription now? Was gonna ask you about how the new iPhone cinematic mode works with the filmic pro app. Thanks for your channel man! Great videos. No one gets these topics like you. Not the normal everyday questions that you can just google

    Can you explain more about recording in stereo mode with an iPhone adapter?
    Does that mean the two channels will “mix” into one, or that one channel will be muted?
    Thanks again!

    Thanks, i use it also. But it is important to know, that you can`t use a case with the receiver like the moment case. There you must use a lightning extender. And these extender are not realy short. I will try to make the moment case smaller a the the receiver side. Also it is important to know that the micros don`t make a backup audio like the djy or rhode wireless micro systems. Greetings

    Having watched a ton of reviews, the Comica Vimo C3 sounds like a very competitive alternative to the DJI Wireless Lav. To me, the audio quality sounds similar. Your review confirms the others I've seen.
    Have you played with the Fulaim X5. Similarly priced, similar sound quality but a couple of other great features: onboard recording, and perhaps better/less aggressive denoise. One downside, it's LED screen isn't bright enough to see in bright sunlight.

    • @SiHorrocks

    great review thanks! i love the ease of use of the Vimo S - is there a difference in sound quality between the Vimo S and the larger Vino C? Here's hoping the Vimo S fits on an iPhone 15 Pro Max that is in a case, but I guess I can only find that out by trying...

    Thanks for this walkthrough. Very thorough. I've been trying to use the Vimo S with iPhone 14 Pro. So far I love the Comics package, but not the audio (raw). I put a pen mark on the input dial to make sure it doesn't move on me. Obvious but I get better results using both Mic modules at once. I admit I am spoiled by the 'old' Shure lightning connector mic that is great except for its susceptibility to bluetooth signal noise.

  • @WillNewcomb
    @WillNewcomb Před 10 měsíci

    Thank you! They sound very good. One proviso with the S models: the receiver probably doesn't work if your phone has a case. Other similar devices ALL have problems with cases!
    Denoise sounds terrible. I'd never use it.

On the second app one phone had great sound while the second was better than the first app but still not very clear. As concerns the Vimo S. If the centre figure of 100 indicates the charge state of the case and the side bars the charge state of the Tx’s, where’s the charge state of the Rx shown or is it included with the case state charge state?

  • @Haptic404

    Thanks for your video Simon! Looks like a tidy solution. I’m currently using the synco p1, however, I’m looking for something with perhaps a little stronger build quality around the connector - phone port. Although this is bigger it looks like it sits more flush to the phone. I’m also highly interested in how the deadcats connect to the mics? How are they connected? Can they be easily brushed off?
    Although the volume wheel is cool is there any way to disable its function? Worried about altering it whilst shooting.

    • @SiHorrocks
      @SiHorrocks  Před rokem +1

      The deadcats clip on easily. They're rubber so should be pretty safe. To stop the volume control moving you could stick a bit of tape over it

    • @haptic3036
      @haptic3036 Před rokem

      @@SiHorrocks would taping it conflict with going back into the case slot though?
      Do you feel there’s space to keep the deadcat unattached under the lid of the case for ease of use?

    The same issue occurs on my realme 2 pro and also iphone 13 pro max.
