What do you think of the Czech characters’ pronunciation? As a musician, I’m familiar with a small handful of Czech words (mostly names and work titles!) so pronouncing the name Dvořák name without the “zh” sound that seems to come from the ř a bit off. But I’ve never had a chance to ask a native Czech speaker what the authentic pronunciation sounds like!
@@feuilletoniste You can definitely hear that they are not native, or have been learning it for a long time pretty clearly. But, you can tell that they tried, so it doesn’t bother me that much. Czech is REALLY hard to learn (even just pronunciation) so it would be pretty unreasonable for me to expect them to be good at it.

I definitely agree with the feeling that she was just reading off script lines and definitely think part of it is the writing. As you said it doesn’t feel like it has as much personality as previous games have had. But so excited that we finally got a new game, my sister and I would play them growing up. I even have a tattoo of the whale from the haunted carousel lol

Agree with everyone else about the lack of personality. With almost all the OG Nancy games, the characters or dialogue or circumstances have SOMETHING about them that is memorable or memeable. Always at least one line of dialogue or dialogue delivery or entire character or character trait that elevated the games even though the graphics were rough (will never forget 'are you here in Wisconsin...for the CHEESE???'). This game just doesn't really have that.
OMG, for me, as a person living in Prague this was amazing! I’ve watched and loved every single one of your Nancy playthroughs but this, I was in heaven! Sure, there were some things I would change as a Czech person, but your pronunciation made everything thousand times better!😂 I adore you for you passion for these games and thank you for making my day with it❤

@@strangetimez it really is that bad🤣only the fact that Czerna is a polish name and Vladena is a non existent name! i have genuenly never heard it in my life. when it comes to the speaking, the pronounciation is butchered and the structure of the sentences doesnt really work, but i do get that czech is a really hard language to grasp and it takes years to learn. however when it comes to the game desing its really accurate, they have done an amazing job even with the tiny details like the pavement on the ground, its crazy how much thats similar to real life😄

I just came back from a trip to Prague and walked these very streets, the clock, the castle and meuseums and cafes, its not 1to1 but its close enough that its all familiar and so cool!

Completely unhinged theory: the girl is actually anja from the captive curse. They look similar, both games focus on a necklace, at the end of captive curse, anja said she’d see Nancy again, and she knows Nancy’s enough of a good detective to call her for this case….. I’m calling that it’s a trap

Ok.... I'm barely 10 minutes in the video but dang am I impressed by the first person walking and how people look. This honestly feels like an upgrade to Nancy games in a good way. The real test tho is the story and puzzles. I'm also soooooo happy Gabby has been recognized by the developers as a worthy sponsor. Whohoo! I definitely think this one is way better than midnight in Salam. Perfect, no. But a huge improvement. Way more puzzles. Character models look better. Accents are subpar as always. But that has been true for a long time with these games. The conversations make more sense than last game. I’m actually looking forward to replaying this one!
At first I was having a hard time with the new voice of Nancy but once she said "Can't check that off yet" i got a wave of cozy nostalgia and fell in love ♥️

100% it's ai translated using the same ai tool the TikTok videos use. And I don't get why. All the other voice acting sounds like real voice actors. It's like they couldn't hire a real American woman, or couldn't find an actress with a good enough American Accent so chose to ai translate it instead.
@@alexbou7966 this is very obviously not ai... it would be dumb to hire "normal" voice actors for secondary characters and an ai for Nancy. i think the VA of Nancy has a pleasant tone like usually the AI has plus she is mimicking the tone of the original VA, Lani, so maybe this combination gives off a weird feeling of being artificial

The puzzles on this game are the hardest I’ve ever seen and had to use a lot of hints and walkthroughs!
Yeah they should really give you more hints ingame, and I dont mean from the hints thing on the phone. Like at one point you have to do a word puzzle, but you have no idea that the word is not an english one. (Or maby I just missed a hint?)
Game looks awesome, but the new VA for Nancy sounds like AI to me. Narrator was great, but Nancy sounds artificual and emotionleee and... It just sounds wrong. The others sound pretry good, just Nancy is weird
I was talking with the better half about how Her Interactive hadn't come out with a new game in almost 5 years just this past week. They definitely kept this release under the radar until now. The system overhaul is very impressive, and it looks like it might be mobile ready. I'd see that as a sort of progress considering the book series was a subversive attempt to prepare young women for changing times like Women's Lib and the Civil Rights movement. 6 more years until the 100th anniversary of the first book. :)

A Nancy Drew game set in Prague ? Dreams do come true ! A perfect mystery city, that looks even better in real life. Even using real Czech names ! (Even though Czerna is not Czech spelling) I was so excited that it was set in Prague at first but damn, the accents (everyone sounds so russian), the language and the names are all wrong to a funny degree. 😢😆 I can't imagine the other Nancy Drew games are as bad as this one is with the local things. That is not what bramborák looks like. You know it's bad when Gabs pronunciation is on the level with the "Czechs" in game. Damn Stroměstské náměstí is really nicely done though. Haunted tours are super popular in Prague, every other house has a ghost or a murder tied to it through some legend. Why does Hans have the best Czech accent so far ?

I get so absorbed in her Nancy playthroughs that I start daydreaming. Awesome a new Drew game! Free roam option tells me to buy it no matter what ha ha. Sidereal time is star time. It's about 10 minutes off from the rotational time. The history is great. The guy who voices Ned sounds like the actor who plays Ace from the show.

One thing that bothered me so much during the video, is the fact that none of the surnames of the women don’t end in “ová”, since they always do unless you have a foreign name, and even then, people sometimes add it. There are very few exceptions to this rule, and none of the ones in this game are the surnames that don’t have it in Czechia. Well except Černá, but I think that was probably a coincidence…
Even that name is more Polish than Czech because of the ‘z’ tho lol
