Hi friends! It's Tracey! I found the budget mom back in 2017 when I was trying to get our finances in better shape. All the other methods didn’t explain the method in a step by step way that made sense to me until I found the budget by paycheck workbook. I purchased the printable version and have used that for the last 5 years. Over the years this workbook has had tweaks to improve it based on feedback. I was so excited to finally be able to purchase a physical copy of the workbook! In this video I will give my honest feedback on the quality as well as a page by page flip of the workbook and highlight the features. I also purchased a set of her new highlighters! What do you think of the workbook? Have you tried this method?

Nice planner. I think it would be perfect for someone that has a lot of things to track but, it would make me feel overwhelmed. The layout is really nice & well thought out and I like the highlighters a lot.
I totally get that!!! There are more things in there than I need but the core is what got me into budgeting and it feels like home 😂 You definitely need to do whatever feels right to you!

I think I'd like to use something similar for expense tracking and monthly bills. I've gotten away from the monthly calendar I used to utilize.

I really wanted a planner from Budget mom but that was when she took the time off so none was available. I went ahead and ordered a customized budget planner from Plum Paper, nice you can pick the cover, have something printed on it,, pick the layout , etc.. I love it.

I am anxiously awaiting my delivery. I ordered back on newsletter opening day lol. I got the floral one its so pretty. I wanted her highlighters so badly, but i have so many zebra & sharpie highlighters i talked to myself out of it.
Yes!!! I ordered newsletter opening day too and it took a bit for it to ship with all the orders. You had some great self control! I definitely impulse bought the highlighters! 😂
I fell off the budget wagon a few years ago and used frivolous spending as a crutch for depression and anxiety. I JUST started a budget again! I’m going to under budget in Nov. and Dec. to spoil myself and get this for myself. I bought a cheap $7 one on Amazon last week and the coil is weird, the pages don’t turn smoothly and it’s going to drive me nuts lol I’m on a massive debt journey and I love how detailed this workbook is. So I’ll use the cheapie until December and then spoil myself with one of these. I get paid bi-weekly but that’s ok. I’d just use each check page per month as like a weekly check-in, if that makes sense.

One thing I found with buying a coil book was I hated writing next to the coil. This is why I love my HP!! LOL...pull those pages on out to write on.

I just received my floral workbook a few days ago. I didn’t even get a box! I was confused. 😢But the workbook is really nice. Love the paper & it’s smell. Will just use my printable January. Hopefully I will stick with it as I tend to fall off of budgeting so extensively. Great video! ❤
I have heard that from a few people that they got their order in just a brown generic box! That is such a bummer! The nice part about it being undated is that you can jump back in if you fall off! I have done the same! You got this! 💜
I always fall off….except for my sinking funds. So if you do nothing else…stick with that part.

Very nice review! It’s seems like the color scheme stays the same year after year on these. Hopefully she will consider changing it or just going completely neutral.

for those who have used both the printable and the physical work book, which would you recommend for someone using the Budget by Paycheck method for the first time?
I started out with the printables because I loved the flexibility to print out new sheets as I was figuring things out. It is overall cheaper to get the printable version but once you factor in the printing costs the physical work book is a better deal. I looked into printing the book from the digital file and to print and bind it ranged from $30 through a homeschool printing company to $70+. If you are just printing out a month at a time with your own printer you just have to factor in ink and paper. She didn’t offer a book last year so having the printable came in handy. Perks to both options honestly. I have been happy to have the book and will likely get the book going forward.
