I've a 2013 1LZ C6Z. After 60Kmi and nearly 6 years of ownership, I still couldn't be happier with it. And everyone whose driven it wants one. And it has essentially the same Tremec as the C7. Just one more cog forward. So far, no electrical or mechanical issues. As reliable as any Japanese car I've owned. No one could be more gobsmacked about that than me.

This is another nicely done video. When I was shopping for my C6 I wanted a 2008 or newer model due to the engine and transmission changes. I found a 2011 Grand Sport online with almost no mileage but it was 1LT. My Corvette guru suggested I find a car that was better-optioned and in 2015 I bought my 2008 Z51 Coupe (6 MT) 3LT, one of only 212 Base Coupes brought into Canada that year, with barely break-in mileage and saved me a great deal of money as well. That money goes to gasoline as in three summers I have put on more mileage than the previous owner did in eight. There is nothing remotely comparable to the Corvette for value for performance and aesthetic dollar. And, Brad, that Grand Sport is gorgeous! My wife is anxious that we get C7 wheels and yours look really super so I will lurk on the Corvette Forum.

  • @UncleRayRayGarageEmporium

I have found out the problem with headlight covers hazing up: ammonia. Windex and most glass cleaners have it. Use "Sparkle" purple cleaner. Some waxes have something similar to ammonia in them. Don't wax the covers.
Once the pitting process begins, nothing can stop it except resurfacing with abrasive friction.

Hey Brad, I have an 08 and love it. Stays in storage most of the year cause I work outside the US. One of the changes they made on the 08 was the recalibration of the steering. Lack of on-center feel and turning weight was a complaint with the 05-07 models.

I didn't see any of the C-6 A6 trans shifting all that fast. Even the early C-7s didn't shift all that quick. I could tell it was still an automatic. The european paddle-shift cars shift quick, and that has been true for several years, even the less expensive euros shift faster. Not true for the early C-7. I've listened to the 2019 and it is a big improvement over the older models as far as shift time.
I agree the LS-3 engine is a big improvement. The cathedral-port heads are a very good flowing head. A camshaft upgrade is all that's needed to pick up some good HP. It's like the LS-3 has all this potential, just have to tap into it. The earlier LS engines with their restrictive heads just didn't have that capability. The bottom end is also good for some serious upgrades, without having to do anything to it.

Manual or it’s not a real sports car. Yes, all the latest greatest exotic sport cars are dual clutch paddle and thusly, faster. That’s my beef. I want 3 peddles and to really have fun driving and feeling the power in my feet. The short throw tremecs in the C6s are so smooth
