I love loading HE at the start of the game and blind salvo firing bushes where light tanks like to go at the start of the game - most hit nothing, but every once in a while...

@@johnr5001 I saw things you mortals can even comprehend: Heavy Tanks two tiers up yours camping behind bushes, so they sacrifice your tank to scout and they take the kills; teams not helping when you ask for help, because they prefer push you into the meat grinder not to lose their exp/credits farm, and still losing...etc etc etc
@@AngraMajinu I've seen a medium go and occupy a TD bush while I was playing a TD and obviously he did nothing for quite a while. All this time I'm just sitting there telling him to go be a medium instead of a wannabe TD. When I decide to play as a medium because I saw a flank that needed help he then decided it's a good time to move as well. Blocked my shots to the point where I wished team damage was on so that I could send him to the garage myself
This tank is arguably the best tank of the entire line. Tier for tier this tank is so good i think its underrated imo. Not too many people talk about this tank compared to other tier 9 tanks.
I think a speed buff would honestly fix the ST-II. It's just too darn slow.
Yeah, some speed would be really nice. I would like it to have a little better hull and turret armor to be honest. Not the hull as strong as IS-4 but enough for it to take hits from other tier 10 tanks.

Ikr. Sometimes I have 75% wr and sometime i have to play a lot of games just to pass 50%. Super frustrating
Big streamers get special mm and rng because they showcase wg's product.
I'm easy at 30% WR every single day for a past week, not even bother to be angry at moron MM and teams I get to be in! 1 day left of my free premium acc. so making a million a day so I guess I can start shooting gold without any regrets!
Knowledge. Mostly. In most of the cases you can win with knowledge. In 1/4 of your battles you either do a mistake or the opponents are just better. That's about it. Yesterday I had 80% wr with over 3k avg. dmg. after 10 battles then I took a little break, come back and I think my positioning was bad, I dealt half the dmg, I was stuck in my positions, etc. That was bad play by me and we lost. You can't blame and rely on your teammates. You're alone! Keep that in mind. You f*** up half of the enemy team and you're good.
NEVER rely on anyone from your team!! That's the biggest mistake you can make.

I never actually thought this tank is going to be my favorite, t110E5 used to be my go to tank, but -8 degrees on a tough turret without a cupola sounds like a dream. When i started playing the is-3-II, plus you get to play with lower tiers alot of times

My son (who has the ST-II) thinks it is really good. But he says that with the IS-3-II, it is not bad, but it is better for its tier. Because you can get a lot of tier 9 tanks that have speed but most of the tier 10 have big guns and little speed. He says that it is also hard to side scrape in the IS-3-II as the little bits that make the armour at the front angle and are easily penetrable. So like you said with the AMX M4 51. It’s not that it is better than the tier 10 but is is just to good for its tier. Thanks for reading!

I just bought this tank. My first tier 9 tank! I have the IS-2-II and the Object 703. I just watched your review and I thank you. Now I need to build up free experience for the upgrade turret, radio and motor. I did upgrade the tracks, This is my only line of research up to tier 9 and I ask this, is the tier 10 ST II a good next move? new to a clan and need a tier 10.
My next move is a move up from th B-C 12T. Your videos really help a 70 year old expand his skills. Only been playing since Aug 20th 2020. My first computer video game and the only console game I played was Mario Cart 26 years ago with my son. Great format, energy and style to your podcasts. GG
The is-3 II is a power house of a tank, in one game at the front I blocked 6k and did 4k damage but didn't even get the ace tanker badge that's shows how good this tank is, it's has a very good armor, its fast with good gun handling adding to that the flexibility of the two guns. It rocks 👌🏻

This tank reminds me of the French Heavy line. It's not that the AMX M4 54 is bad, its that the tier 9 is just so good.
I like live videos, because the 1st reaction when something happens is more natural. But are some cases when you need to and comment so well on a replay, doesn't matter if it's yours or not. So a mix of these two when is the most needed, like this one. thanks!

by @02:54, I like how those rounds appear to have left your barrels correctly and were both on target to the tank. The tier IX, WZ III 1-4 has weak enough turret ~140mm effective armour on the back half that even the stock gun should be able to pen with.... (min mean pen is 221 for AP)

I don't sell any tier 8, 9, 10, I'm trying to collect them all, after I achieve that I'll start buying back all tanks at all tiers
I did this for a while then realised it was all a cash cow and impossible without spending thousands of dollars or being at elite gamer level. I got to 19 tier X with many tier 8 & 9 spent over £700 and 15,000 battles.
I keep the tanks I like and sell the ones I don’t.

ST 2 is a beast when you over angle your side. You can bait people shooting it in the side. It can go hull down and also side scrap.
15 mins ago i fought against is3 ii with my T34,he was huldown,first i shot cheeks as i saw it has not cupolas,it bounced i load gold with 297 it bounces three times,i started loading HE and even it did 0 dmg to its turret. its insanely good armor

I tried really hard to get the ST II working because I really wanted to play it. The only way it is okayish is if you use all crew skills and equipment slots to increase its mobility. Ignore gun stats or view range (even if it hurts to do that) and go full mobility. That way I actually had some fun in the ST II
This was the first line I grinded one year ago. Unfortunately, I had to sell this tank to get the ST-II (I needed it to play brawl and ranked). But now with turbo, rotation mechanism, and removed speed governer, I'm having a lot of fun playing the ST-II.

Just played my first game in a double barreled tank today with the IS-2-ll. While the 85 mm is rather underwhelming, being able to fire a salvo is oh so satisfying.
Recently got back into WoT and now can't stop watching your vids, again..

I just finished grinding the tier 10 and have to say that the more I played the tier 9 the more I liked it. I hadn't thought to tag the salvo feature to a different key. I'm going to have to try this for myself. I preferred this to the tier 8, but haven't bought the tier 10 yet and I'm not sure that I will.

I absolutely love the t-10 it is an amazing support tank and it can do the job it needs to do as a heavy with its amazing heat rounds
I've heard ghost HEAT shells too, from tanks that were firing standard AP or APCR and from tanks which don't even have HEAT

Heats usually give a "ssssss" sound. QB probably overheard or heard a teammate get hit by heat while at the same time getting hit by Progetto

The Progetto 65 should have just pressed 2 and deleted QB from the game. his 330 HEAT pen would have gone through upper hull every time. 9 times out of 10 that happens and he would have been back in the garage. The 2nd and 3rd games were very good but the first game was meh and showing it as one of 3 shows how hard heavy tanks and armoured tanks have it in the current meta of gold ammo.
I never changed LMB for salvo, it's still there...all you need to single fire the double barrel is tap, or if salvo just press and hold....easy. Rather than having to bind on a key that you might forget later. I play like that on my 703 and is3 2

I have had so much fun in this tank over my 270 battles in it. It was my first 2 mark as well. I didn't research the "top gun" until after I had researched the St-II. I didn't buy the St-II, because i think its garbage, but some players may find it fun too.
The stock gun on this tank is actually pretty good if you fire gold that is, the dpm is higher than both of the researchable guns and since this is a higher tier tank with the upgraded turret the dpm goes even higher than it is on the is-2-2

If your enemies are hull down use HE doubles they still do like 300-400 dmg
A tip to make the ST-II feel a little more like the is-3-II is to put a turbocharger on the vehicle. For me it made it at least playable again.
Just sold it... yesterday I was one shot by the FV215b (183) when I had full HP. It was.... fun :).
It feels like an opportunistic / support vehicle. When you need to put some pressure in a match...it's painful with poor armor. Cheers.
The grind towards the tier 8 was so smooth.
Rebought the KV-3 and completed the entire xp grind in 6 battles (with premium and 50% boosters)

I'd like to see a video where you showcase when the tier 9 is best than tier 10 tanks. For example I found the Tortoise a lot more easy and fun to play than the badger.

I use bond and bounty rotation mechanism, vertical stabilizer and vents on my ST-II and top of that snapshot and BiA skills, so I literally have NO aim time if I just turn my turret.
No one expect a soviet heavy to be a snapshot god, and chilling in front of me thinking "He is aiming for 3 sec, so I can hit him easily without getting hit" -> Wrong!
That is kind of unique for me and I love it :D

You deserve a like for making a Command and Conquer reference alone, especially to the first Red Alert where the Mammoth was a Soviet unit.
The moment I had enough credits I got the STII and bypassed every tank to get it. I absolutely love it. The first game I played in it I got 6 kills and 7K damage. Not bad for a 49% scrublord.
Bought this the first day of the discount, Aced it in the first game (fully stock) with 4k damage, 2k spotting, 5 kills and cca 1350 base exp. Probably the first-second time I aced a tank in the very first game.

I actually really enjoy the st 2 ! I had the is3 2 many months back and i performed really well... Everybody said stay away from st2 but now i picked it up finally!!! And I thinks its a lot of fun:) but yeah i understand its not very easy to play
@04:19. I think if you play a little more arty, and you can check their view but I think only one of your teammates has an angle and they dont always have that target lit so they will max their DPM and not hold the shot because you want one player dead. A platoon might be better for this tactic.
Fun fact which no one of CC are talking- IS 3 II is only tank in World of Tanks who have heavier upgraded tracks ( 99% sure about it), 2 tons heavier than 'stock' one. And 2 tons less,I pretty sure it would boost it's mobility, just a little. Anyway, I have this tank and I just love it :)

I have to say... the way the line was going with the IS-2-II and the IS-3-II you would expect it would be the T-10-II or the Obj. 257-II since those are the next ones along the IS-3 line.
if your in close combat most of the time coted optics aren't as good as vertical stabilizers, but i use increased accuracy so i cant really say
Because of this video I started grinding the line. The KV-1 and T-150 were good but the stock grind on the KV-3 kinda sucks. Especially with no premium.

By far my favorite heavy line. I loved the is3-ii made the mistake and selling it for the tier 10. Buying it back tho since it's on discount!

You only get about a million credits selling a discounted tier 9 tank, that’s not a huge amount to grind
Also, I remember there used to be a way to “unsell” tanks by buying them for what you sold them for instead of the full price. Might be worth googling that

@@CoPaE So I bought the ST-II expecting it to be mediocre at best but after some time I must say I absolutely love it.
Turning Speed is rather slow like a super heavy but I really havent had problems with that. Because the turret (-8 gun dep) and the guns make up for it. The guns in particular have pretty much best in class hidden soft stats. Invest here (vert. stab, skills, vents and food) and you're basically fully aimed in all the time and you can hit all the snap shots and double shots you can dream of on any range.
And then there is the double-gun-mechanics that let you play like an autoreloader without the afterthought of ruining your dpm/reload by firing the second shot early. Or punish a foolish peaker for 900. It's a super flexible system. Compared to the IS-3-II I felt the guns are just so much more reliable. And hit harder. Oh so satisfying.
Only the frontal armor is mediocre at best. Which is why you don't show it. Side armor is 140mm so you can sidescrape very nicely and overangle and bait shots, plus you can play hulldown in many positions with the -8 gun depression.
TLDR; Play it to it's strenghts and you may find an amazing tank. Don't play it like a 277 or a Chieftain because it's not. Plan your moves, predict the enemies and be aware of your surrounding.
I encourage you to give it another try.

6:30 - as far as i know it does not work this way. Rotation device gives you +10% to gun traverse speed. More traverse speed = more dispersion. Reduced dispersion is only to compensate that increase.
19:00 if you do that you are losing a lot more exp, so it is good but is it worth the amount of grinding you need to do to get it back on a FtP account
I have a couple hundred games in this thing and I'm a new player (literally less than 2k battles) but this was the first tank I feel comfortable playing. It's a good tank

A Friend of mine convinced me to play wot 3 months ago(usually I play wows) and I asked what is strong?
He said Russian bias is definitely given and then I just blindly took the line with two guns cause they looked cool. So this is my first and only line so far and now with the is 3 2i really feel pretty comfortable with it
with OG ST-I you can contest with Is-3 II, i would say i loved it and got disappointed with is-4, the armor is quite troll in is-4 somewhat slow and has a lot of weak points

I just bought this tank, but the stock grind looks painful. You have to use the tier 8 gun until you have gathered like 80 000 XP.
