    I've enjoyed watching this video and looking forward to seeing your maiden. Also have learn and few things from this video. I've also watch many of your mini Avanti videos, really impress with the different EDF setups you tried. I'd like to try one of the 6s Mewo tec setup you. That mini Avanti really moves.
    You need a bigger shop to work. I also use Frsky radio for the pass 6 yrs using the RB20 in one of my HSD EDF viper with R8 Pro and R9 Slim.
    Looking forward to seeing more of your video keep up the good work.

    Mine is ordered. Going with the Jetfan 120 pro/590kv and 16s200A esc. Will the KINGMAX KM1203MD-20g 9kg cm 34g metal gear Mini digital servos work for my @10~11kg setup? I fly very smoothly and care less about aerobatics, will be using 16s3p12600 Li-Ion for long 50~60% flights with the occasional full power passes.

  • @robertellisphotographyandc6101

    Very impressive and such an ambitious EDF project. I've been eyeing the Odyssey for a while now. It will be great to see how it flies with a 120mm fan. The recommended turbine is 100-140 Newtons - in the middle is 12Kg of thrust - you should be close to that with 10KW! Do you have a projected all up weight for it? Do you think those landing gear are strong enough for it especially from grass?

    • @EDFjetRC
      @EDFjetRC  Před 3 lety

    In regards to batteries the newest top of the line cells are from SMC Racing (www.smc-racing.com/) . See www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?1767093-Battery-Load-Test-Comparisons/page708 .... The SMC Racing cells are 20 - 30% more capacity of Turnigy Graphenes, the same or higher C rating but at lighter or just 1 - 2 oz more of weight.

    • @markusstadlbauer9928
      @markusstadlbauer9928 Před 3 lety

      @@EDFjetRC Thank you for the fast answer ... i know the plane and i flies really well ... i am wondering a little about your EDF components because the HET Motor 700-98 normally is rated with 4800W Maximum (2400 Watt continous) and you use a relativly high KV for the JP rotor and for 14S .... normally JP suggest a 673KV Motor for the 120 Rotor at 7800W .... so a 935 KV in my opinion is too much .... so i hope it will not burn after a short while. But you have shown allready other things which are working ... so i am curios to see if it works.

    • @EDFjetRC
      @EDFjetRC  Před 3 lety

      @@markusstadlbauer9928 the power of the motor is related to rpm of the motor. 700-98 would probably burn with JetFan120 at 7kW but JP 120 rotor is way milder than JetFan so it has to spin much faster to generate 7kW. So if you want to use small motor at high power than you need to use light rotors :) At 7kW my 700-98 was bearly warm :) The reason I use this motor is it's extremaly high electrical efficiency and small diameter which gives airflow efficiency.

    • @markusstadlbauer9928
      @markusstadlbauer9928 Před 3 lety

      @@EDFjetRC Thank you for the explanation, so i see you have thought a lot about it. I had only a short look at the JP homepage what JP´s recommendation for 14s is and there i read that the 14S motor have 673kV and needs allready 7800W for an outrunner which have more tourqe than an inrunner ... so i thought 935kV for and inrunner seems to be A LOT ;-). But i see that you have allready tested here and have of course a better experience for the Motor. I have only experience with the 700-98-780 in an Jetfan 110 at 12S and here the motor was quiet warm at about 100Amps (4400W) .... so as i read that you will have twice the power with the same motor .... it initially seems nearly unbeliveable .... so i am very curious about the desired engine ... let´s see.
      Of course a very intresting project, also with the retracts and the combined ESC ... cool ...!!

    • @EDFjetRC
      @EDFjetRC  Před 3 lety

      @@markusstadlbauer9928 every kv of the 700-98 motor is a different motor. Low kv motor has thin copper wire and can handle less Amps, higher kv motor has thicker copper wire and can handle more current. Also every manufacturer measures their kv differently so JP kv is a different story than HET kv...
      I pulled 7kW out of 370g motors so 600g of 700-98 is plenty :)
      If you deal with quality motors the rule of tomb is g=W x10. So 300g motor = 3000W max power.
