    Recent events in WP page builder-land have highlighted a sense a uncertainty about where to go - but I am not here to alarm you, i am here to give you peace of mind. So what happened? A significant remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability impacted popular page builders, compromising tens of thousands of websites. Additionally, CWICLY, a professional page builder, announced its discontinuation, leaving users unsure about their website's future.
    But can static websites offer a solution? Unlike dynamic sites, static websites serve pre-rendered HTML files, reducing the attack surface and mitigating server-side vulnerabilities like RCE. While static sites aren't immune, they provide a solid security foundation with limited interaction points and no dynamic code execution.

    Great tutorial Brendan. I'd love to see a complete walkthrough for GIT control and how to push updates. ;)

      good reminder, i'll add it to my list. it's a good skill to have on hand as it certainly gives you more control than the method in this vid

      @@digwillhachi awesome to hear! that makes the time i spend making these videso worth it! static hosting will wrok well for lots of sites, but wont work for lots of sites, specifically, any dynamic data! make sure you test it and only use it on simple sites

      Ah thanks for the info. Yes I am getting it on every site I try it on, and I got pro version too. Usually just logging in and out does the trick for me, sometimes have to wait a little longer

      yes, i've traditionally done it just on cpanel but curious how others handle it. seems like good solution for a remarkably high # of websites that just need contact forms and have content.

      @@BrendanOConnellWP exactly, i am wondering how it works with bricks builder and metabox....it would be great for simple websites with it; give access to WP behind firewall and export it every time as the content updates

      yeah, confirming it doesnt render dynamic content from acf/mb, which makes sense, but wanted to confirm again for you. tried with pagination and just a post query with 3 posts, nothing else dynamic

      webflow is something i've only following at a cursory level as i'm just so used to the open nature of WP w/ different themes and plugin stacks, etc. theyve got an amazing product. new UI soon?

    • @bluetheredpanda
      @bluetheredpanda Před 4 měsíci +1

      To me they still have the best controls of any visual CSS tool in the industry (I actually wish Bricks took more inspiration from them). It's neat, compact, and looks amazing.
      Other than that… I find it limiting and expensive.
      I'm especially bothered by two aspects:
      - the limits around CSS selectors (and I'm really not a fan of their combo classes concept).
      - the limitations around integrating other systems (JS plugins, external tools, etc) with it.
      Given how technical you seem to be based on some videos and some posts I've seen you share in the community, I get the feeling you’ll probably be frustrated for similar reasons as well, but you might want to try a quick build to see what it's like @@BrendanOConnellWP

      thanks for sharing that. that is basically my impression. i've used it to build simple site to get the feeling. i am with you that some of the UI stuff can definitely benefit bricks. they have a great education pipeline and other creators which is hugely beneficial
