I'm a Cricut crafter and just started using machine embroidery. I am so jazzed that I could use my HTV for embroidery patches. I loved your video and your instructions were easy to follow. Can't wait to see more videos and ideas from you;}
Yes!! Glitter and Flock can definitely be used easily. Thank you 🌞
Awesome love how you explain and no music to distract. I save all my glitter scrap HTV and use hole punches to punch out different shapes. So happy found your channel
Wow...I do both cricut and embroidery so this was awesome
GREAT JOB explaining the process
Glad it was helpful!
Your videos are amazing! You explain so well and don't overly talk like other vides I have watched by other people.
Wow, thank you! I feel like I talk too much...lol
Beautiful job!
I did this technique on sweats using WW design. I wish I knew I could just use regular htv 😖😖 I bought "embroidery" htv! Thank you for the video
Yes! Glitter vinyl HTV and Flock HTV will work this way and they are less bulk so the patch is still nice looking, but not heavy. Thank you!
they all look great
Brilliant and beautiful.
Many thanks!
Thank you. Great video
Thank you!!!
Nice job! Since your not hooping, have you tried pre ironing your glitter to your fabric, cutting to size, and using adhesive spray to hold fabric in place? Would save you time and materials.😉
Thank you so much! I have watched 4 other videos on making iron on patches. Yours, by far, was the most insightful!
Thank you for watching! 🌞I am happy that this was helpful!

You're welcome! I used a 75/11 sharp needle
Awesome!Enjoyed and I learned something !😊Thank you for sharing. I have the spirit to try patches now!
You are welcome!!! Yes, definitely give them a go! It may take a try or two, but don't give up!!
I,m so glad I found your channel, You are so detail oriented, Couldn't you have left it on and do the satin stitch without taking it off.
Thank you🌞 yes..it could have been left and just trimmed at the end, but I trim before the satin stitch to keep it as neat as possible and not have the fabric showing too much on the edges. I hope that makes sense.
Fantastic video! Love the patch! Keep making videos!
Thank you!
What a fantastic idea!!! Thanks for showing us!
You're welcome 🌞
Fabulous I hope you make projects like this.

Nice video thanks
Great tutorial, thank you! 😊
You are welcome! Thank you for watching!
Hi, could you have used spray adhesive instead of ironing the glitter down?
Because it was heat transfer vinyl, I ironed. But if using a fabric that didn't have a adhesive backing, spray adhesive could be used. But with heat transfer vinyl, you want to iron it down.
great job
Great video! Thank you! 😊
Awesome job! Thanks
Thank you for watching!!
Thank u
Awesome job!
Thank you 🌞
very nice tutorial thank you
Thank you!
Love how easy this is, thanks for sharing
Awesome tutorial❤️
Thank you 🌞
great video
OMG.. Thank you
I started using a lighter to remove the water soluble on the edge. It melts right away! Have to be careful though because I did scorch one patch.
Great tip!
🎉🎉🎉❤❤ I have that sewing machine. Didn't know I could use vinyl, cause I do have, a few cricut machine's. Can you help me please. I would love to do this. How did you get the lettering?
For this, I used fonts that were purchased at designs by Juju. You can use fonts from many different shops. I used Sew What Pro to merge the letters and order the colors (steps so it would stitch in the order I needed. Embrilliance Essentials is even easier since BX fonts can be used and you type out the letter instead of searching for them.
Hi with this vinyl you can do the rip away method with out cutting it and is even easier and for drodution is the fastest way hope the you try it thank you for the video great work keep it uo.
Thank you! I have tried the rip away method for t shirts. I will have to try it with patches.🌞
@@SouthernAudacity This method work on anything and the best save you a lot of time.
Where do you get the twill fabric? Can you provide a link pls 🙏 Love the video ♥️
This particular twill I bought befor Fabric. Com was bought out by Amazon. Now I just shop Joann's and a local family owned fabric store local to me.
Dumb question but I saw you iron it on. How were you able to cut around it and salvage it? That’s great
I just cut as close as possible while trying not to clip stitches.
Im new to embroider can you do a step by step 8n designing the patch?
I will try to... I have been behind on videos and that would be a helpful one
How do you create the box frame ? Am new into the the embroidery field ?
This was a purchased box that was included in a set of appliqué shapes. JLDzain on Etsy. www.etsy.com/listing/268715237/shapes-applique-embroidery-designs-basic
Hi I have a question.. you know how you didn’t cut the adhesive to close to the patch? When ironing it on.. do you trim it closer first or just iron it like that? I’m worried that you’ll be able to see the glue. By the way.. awesome video. I want to try it the way you did it. Thank you.
Thank you! I iron it just like that. But it can be trimmed closer.
What is the name of the font you used. Great video, thanks.
applique border from JLDIZAINS on Etsy and the fonts are both from Designs by JuJu..Joey is the word HU$TLE, But I cannot recall the name of the font I used for "Girl"
🔥🔥🔥
Nice...where did you get the design from?
This is actually a applique border from JLDIZAINS on Etsy and the font is from Designs by JuJu... I think it's the Joey font, but any font with those elements would work.
This was awesome, is twill fabric the best fabric to make patches with?
I prefer twill...but there really is not a truly best fabric in my opinion. It all depend on the intended use. I mean like a patch for a child's shirt... I would use cotton. But patches for jackets and hats... definitely twill.
@@SouthernAudacity to how would you apply this patch sew it or make it an iron on patch...if it's used as an iron on patch will it reheat an mess up the htv
@lorthegamer80 I was wondering the same thing since it bubbled after applying the glue/bond in the back! Hopefully we get an answer!
Sorry I never saw this question. But I apply as an iron on and then I secure the edges if the item is subject to being washed. With the glitter HTV, I have never had an issue with the HTV messing up. Even on t-shirts, I iron the front of glitter HTV with no problems or mess.
Loved the tutorial now. How do I find the embroidery file for the patch? 🤔❤
Thank tou for watching. There is no file for this particular patch. I created it using a rectangle applique and merged premade fonts.
Great video! Is "Crafting After Dark" trademarked? ;) Sounds like a great name :)
Thank you!! 🌞 I do think someone already holds that name and some very similar.
I'm new to embroidery. For satin stitch, do you use a different type of embroidery thread or just the polyester thread?
Hi!! Nope, just the polyester thread. Some people like the rayon, but I only use polyester.🌞
@@SouthernAudacity thank you for your response. I am loving your videos. Binge watching your videos now. As I set up my embroidery machine.
Love your videos, do you know that you can use you die cutter to precut your fabrics etc.
Yes! And I initially bought my Silhouette Cameo 3 just for pre cutting fabric and I have never used it for that intended purpose 🙃🌞Thank you!
You mentioned you prefer a different adhesive product besides the heat and bond ultra. What product would that be? Thank you and enjoyed the video.
Thank you! I prefer Fuse-n-Bond™ Applique & Patch Backing Heat Seal Film which is found at AllStitch.
@@SouthernAudacity thank u.
#replay
I know you did this video a year, but I want to know can you wash the garment/ball cap. Thanks ❤
You answer my question at the end. Like how easy to make patches.
Oh yes! I always recommend a tack down/ hand stitch around the edges with a thread that matches the border so that it will stay in place over the washes.
