This is a great 2-minute video for explaining Indexing.
Indexando, brindamos a otras personas,la posibilidad de encontrar a sus antepasados.Esto nos permite conocer mas sobre nuestra familia y preparar lo que dejaremos a nuestra descendencia.Es una hermosa y gran tarea!Gracias por el video.
Great video. I had a High Priest Group Leader tell me yesterday he would have paid money for this video two years ago! It really helped him understand the process.
Thanks for the tip! It worked like a charm. And I've needed this for a long time!
Thank you for this video.
The most important thing anyone can do as an indexer is to FOLLOW INSTRUCTION!
Sorry, I didn't mean to yell, but this is sacred work and the indtrucions are available along with fild helps, so, if you choose to index -- commit to do it by the instruction. There are basi guidelines (document 112975) and there are project specific instructions. We need to follow them.
May I ask what makes this work sacred?
Once volunteers do the transcribing do you then sell the transcriptions to Ancestry and FindMyPast?
Dear Shanna, you can download it using this website:Keep vid. Enter the link, click the grey button on the right (the grey one!!!) then you can choose the format. It works! ;) xoxo
Are these videos available anywhere besides youtube? Access is blocked in LDS meetinghouses.
Any other way I can find photos of my old relatives IF my family or distant relatives do not have them?? Maybe like finding a copy of ID or something like that???
oh man, so many of the names are hard to read, especially in cursive.
there is a great tool on indexing (the pic of the pen drawing cursive) that helps with reading cursive handwriting! :)
@@bokgirl29 Is there one for when on family history looking at source pages?
@@hawaiian-cerveza I looked, but didn't see one. I ended up printing off some of those charts that Bron-Tree-Saurus suggested. Also, I learned that you get better at figuring out what is written over time!
What so I need to do to be a family indexer?
How is the indexing verified. Easy for a tired person to make errors. Does say two people index the same record that would make verification easy.
Two people "index" every record, and then a third person "arbitrator" compares the results of both indexers as a final review before publishing!
How many on here have had your genealogy done to see if you're related to famous people?
