Thank you for watching my video! After you finish watching you should check this Yellowed Playstation PS1 here: 😎🥰 czcams.com/video/4HBr8NE17oc/video.html
Looks fantastic, but I wish you would have restored it to it's original paint scheme....
I'm torn between restoring it to the original military and the really great job making it a civilian search and rescue aircraft.
I thought he was going to do that.
Meccano went through several phases of colour scheme, but the "original" for this model looks like it was unfinished steel which as we can see was not a good look in the long run. The blue and yellow are what I remember from the 60s and 70s and the shades chosen here look very close to my recollection. I should dig my old set out the attic and take a look at it some day...
JamieRaynDowney I struggle with that sometimes but then I remember it is his project and not mine and I need to just relax and enjoy his work
@@rgd963 I mean, a good chunk of old military planes ended up in a similar boat(not a pun). Better to reuse than to scrap.
I liked the simplicity of the original with one color and the military decals.
Yes. I liked the RAF roundals on the wings.
I couldn't argue whether it was in French or British livery, but being of 1930 British Meccano manufacture, one might expect it to be Empire style.
This is not my favourite "restoration" from this otherwise delightful craftsman .. in fact (sadly) it's clearly not a "restoration" at all.
It is in short a 21st century erasure of the original and at best a "remodelling"...creating a garish toy from a delightful historic model.
The original colours and militarily style really should have been restored or at least sensitively reaffirmed and heaven forbid, using 'brass' nuts and bolts and washers in genuine original Meccano is a travesty.
This is the conversion of a prototypical artifact into a silly multicoloured blob.
Luckily it can be repainted and restored to its original ( if replica ) heritage original state at some later time by a more sympathetic hand.
@@MagicaLucem Couldn´t agree more - this channel, amongst others, has taken to ruining things not restoring them...
@@MagicaLucem the whole time I thought, "My Mechanics could do it better". He'd definitely use the old screws and decals.
How can it be called a restoration when it strays so far from the original.
Would have been nice if you reproduced the insignia and markings
yeah it was a nice job cleaning it up and giving it a new paint job, but I was hoping to see the original colour scheme put back on.....
Not too keen on the colours, I’d have kept the original. Good job though!
TimeHunter love the new colours
I have a question sir .
Why you change tha original colour???
@@pablosuarez761 no one cares
For some reason i liked it more before the restoration.🤔
Well I wouldn’t even touch that before the restoration
If I got cut by it I would get tetanus
This plane looked so much better with the patina and its condition. It's his plane but what a pity!
juicy memes you should get vaxinations for that at school. Unless your parents are stupid and anti vax you’ll be fine
@@nightster6378 then it would be preservation not restoration, however this is a custom paint job so it's not restoration either, I kind of like it but I'm in the minority imo on that , 🤷♀️ whatever .
My favorite part is always the sandblasting it’s just so satisfying
Yeah, I could watch that for hours. :D
I agree, the sand blasting I'd peaceful to me
Right? lol
My favorite too, but that color scheme! Anyone else think it looked like they dropped a blue and white plane in the mustard jar? Very unappealing in my opinion.
Sandblasting ASMR! 😄
I love steel and wooden toys. In modern plastic there is no soul. Good work man!
*_Lego wants to know your location_*
I feel kind of sad for the old screws the were so long attached to the model they kind of were meant to be together.
I actually preferred the "before" plane this time.
The screws / bolts you replaced them with are miles to long compared to original.. cut them down!
Yep
So what? You can't see them.
No one can see them
The simple military look was great... 💔
Now it appears an boring-pacific plane from another decade
Screws too long.
The problem with the coloring - identification marks on the wings and tail are lost.
Андрей Никитенко 100%
I would have finished it in the original Armée de l'Air colours.
Nice job, all the same.
Those roundels are British, not French.
@@MegaFortinbras sorry for you! Go to a wiki page and you will learn the story of those roundels ( cocardes in french). This plane is french , not british...
@@MegaFortinbras Croyez-moi, ils sont français!
@@MillwalltheCat No, French roundels have blue in the centre, then a white ring, then a red ring. The British roundels, as seen on that aeroplane, are reversed in colour. Besides, Meccano is a British company.
@@MegaFortinbras Yes, blue in the centre, then a white ring and a red ring - like in the video.
I think you're missing your afternoon nap.
So many parts? Isn't that the real challenge?
I was surprised you did not replaced the decals...
Anyway, another beautiful restoration. Such a pleasure to watch with my morning coffee. 😉
Fantastic job overall, but for the colours should have gone for a aluminium with the French airforce marking. Cheers!
RAF
crazy eddie it’s not raf markings
@@paulieplayspoorly R.A.F has the blue on the outside and the red on the inside, France has the colour order reversed.
The brass screws should have been painted the exterior matching colors. I think they detract from the finished look.
Mecano are supposed to be parts (think Lego) assembled with visible screws.
That Magnetic Holder in the Sandblast chamber was a nice touch
I absolutely love this. Beautiful job. My father passed away recently, and he left me a brass steam engine that was made in 1946. It was built to power Meccano models like windmills. I've polished it, and it has pride of place on my desk. Thank you for restoring something made from Meccano. It holds a special place in my heart.
Once again nice!. I do have one comment though, it should have remained silver and I've never, ever, in my 68 years seen a propeller driven aircraft with red propellers.
Not to argue or anything.. I have seen a few planes with red propellers.
@@MikeNHOC
Have you seen any pink elephants? Just kidding, Mike.
For example, check out Skip Stewart's plane..
Someone thoroughly enjoyed putting that model kit together.
Over 71,000 people thoroughly enjoyed watching you take it apart, clean it up and refurbish it and out it together again.
Thank you!
Meccano was one of the best construction toys out there, spent many an hour building with it in my youth😀😀
Sorry but the colors and bright shinny screws do not look good! Oh well it's your choice...
A very good restoration, but I liked the original plane it had much more character and history
good work, nice Airplane
It's nice to see you restore these old relics back to their former glory, whether it's kept to the original paint job or not! Great work
I'm surprised there were so many screws. Normally they use rivets, but perhaps at some point someone disassembled it and didn't have a rivet gun to put it back together.
I agree, I think rivets would have been appropriate
That's the whole point. This was a construction kit for kids to assemble. There were also cranes, bridges and other kind of devices that could be constructed..
@@heiner71 Makes sense now. Thanks for clarifying.
Yeah, meccano was a kids building toy. Very popular in the 40s and 50s here in the British isles.
@@heiner71 Thank you, I was unaware and I think that is an excellent ideal toy for kids. Beautiful job on the restoration.
А где кружки и полоски на задних крыльях. Не порядок.🤔
Там и на хвосте отверстие для непонятного. Что-то утеряно
WoW! Awesome job. The new color scheme is so much better. All the details pop! The drab British plane had no pizzazz.
Great job, looks awesome!
Glad to another satisfying video from you TysyTube😉😁😊
Great job!!
The sticker details would have been a good touch. No doubt you had your reasons..... 😊
Hi TsyTube! What I wanted to say is that it looks amazing even with the color, and my great grandma had one of those I got it from her when she died at first I wanted to sell it but something inside of me told me to keep it. And now, I because of that video I restored it and it looks brand-new I bet my great grandma would be proud to see what I did! So thank you for this video!
I remember as a kid I used to get a few Revell models at Christmas time and I couldn't wait for the next day when I could start building them. It was such a joy to lose myself in my own little world.
Watching this video brought back those memories from 50 yrs ago.
Great job and thanks.
Next restoration : RMS Titanic.
PS :
But seriously really great renovation.
Terrible renovation! It was done all wrong!
@@Nathaniel_E_Dearing Says you dummy!
Note the toy has been renovated to be a joy to the next kid😀.
He has never in his previous toys has been interested in making it as it “just came out of the box”.
@@westsideratmarshall IN that case it's not a restoration, it's just a clean&repaint job.
Its perfect! The color combo is awesome. A kid in the 1930s would have loved to have that plane with those colors.
Très bel avion. Tout est génial comme d'habitude.
Very interesting that it was assembled with screws and nuts rather than rivets. Great restoration, mate!
Deceived from the colors but the work was done perfectly 👌
Just perfect!
You can recreate the decals using inkjet water slide decal paper.
Perfect alignment of the heads of the screws. Thank you for that!
Wish they still had models like that. Looks like fun.
Man you really “screwed” around with this restoration, didn’t ya’? ;)
Another beautiful job. I like the color choices you made.
I really like the new colors. Gives the plane a more "kid -ish" feeling than the older one
Pure art! You are learning the world a lesson in recycling, respecting the past and enjoying life by honouring what is beautifull, truthful and good. Please continue to do what you are doing.
My favorite toys from childhood were Majorette toy cars 3 inch
Metal base, soft suspension, made in France.
My most loved ones were the Renault 5 mk1, Citroen Visa, Citroen XM, armored bank transporter, Saviem truck.
I re-bought the Saviem and Renault 5 on Ebay, brand new.
And have a couple of others ❤️❤️❤️
Wow... started reading other posts. Eowza. Lot's of folks in a critical mood today.
Would love for some of you to post your restoration work on YT!! ;))
I NEVER get tired of the sandblasting. More accurately, I never fail to thoroughly enjoy the sandblasting. It was really cool on this one. I enjoyed this project a lot. Have you ever considered getting a powder coating system/curing oven? That's the only way your projects could get better...
I actually really like the new paint job and shiny screws 😅 It looks happier
Just loved how all the pieces turned over by themselves at 5:30.
Spooky!
Its funny how you did an amazing restoration on this plane with different colors and people complain but you do a 100% exact restoration on the cast iron chef and people complain about the black skin. Just saying.
It's amazing how you continue to source such interesting items for restoration which, added to your ASMR-like soundtrack makes for a totally satisfying watch. Thanks!
Great restore... The colors were spot on... Making things old to new again is a shared passion... Don't have the room for a media blaster.... Maybe someday... Looking forward to seeing more...
When I saw the orange paint, I was unsure. But I really like the end result!
Nice one dude, I was expecting the original color and decals...
Gr8 job
I must be one of the few who like the happier feeling of the new paint scheme. 🤷 Now it feels like a leisure craft!
Amazing job! That takes me back! I had meccano as a kid, loved it! It was taken off me in the end, everyone in the house would walk round screaming because they would step on the screws I’d left in the carpet.
"An ex-military plane was bought by an oil sheikh and refurbished with some golden parts for civilian use" look.
Might of been better to keep to the original colour and have the decals put back on but other wise a good restoration xx
Please tell me I'm not the only one who immediately thought of the Disney movie Planes while watching this. Amazing restoration as always. I watched it awhile back but I forgot to give you props.
What a fantastic transformation. Beautiful vibrant colours. Amazing! !
Hey, thats 4 colors not 2. How can i win?
0:22 "Witch was your favourite toy when you were a kid?"
Children with Wiccaphobia: *Um*
You amaze me Tysy! That you wet sand all those primer parts. EVERY time! Well done!
That looks fantastic! Excellent choice with the yellow and blue. I had a Meccano set when I was younger but I think I was too young to appreciate it, but for me I was a Lego kid! Great job Tysy!
Был самолёт французской ВВС, и перекрасили в украинский... 😁
A nice job with a lot of effort, BUT: This is not a restoration. A restoration would include an original color paint job.
It's still restored to look brand new, same colors or not
Watching your videos after busy work schedule makes me relax.
I love the sand blasting. Very satisfying.
This is no restoration! When restoring something, it must be returned to how it originally looked and functioned. I repeat: THIS WAS NOT A RESTORATION!!!
Nobody cares what you think dummy, I repeat: DUMMY! Now get back in the closet, you came out too early.
You tell 'em! This should've been fully taken apart, stripped, then placed back in the original box and returned to a store shelf!
Chill out dude
Great work. Really awesome job. Really liked the color combo. Bro just one thing, the sticker is missing. Anyhow it is actually great looking one. Keep up and God bless you
Awesome coloring choices this time around. Looks better than the original.
Your attention to detail is amazing. From the planning of the paint scheme to lining up the heads of the screws. Uncanny!
Ah yes. It’s Tysy time! Instant thumb!
I like the choice of colors.
THT WAS AN ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC JOB. YOU SHOULD GET A STANDING OVATION FOR THAT EFFORT!
I had a Meccano Construction Set when I was a kid spent many a hour building things.. Great Restoration as Always like the colour scheme.. Peace
I am amazed how you keep coming up with these old toys.
A lil disappointed there’s no emblem on the wings; looks like something is missing. 🙁
My opinion you ruined it it was a. Piece and antique no it's just a worthless toy should have kept the military decals
Gorgeous!!! I’m sure everyone wants to play with it. But I don’t want to ruin all of your hard work. This is another masterpiece where you’ve breathed new life into a forgotten object.
Yes, love the colours! Beautifully done Tysy!
Yet again, as I predicted a couple of weeks back, you've inflicted a completely obnoxious paint job on an antique and thereby rendered it almost valueless.
You're a cultural vandal, sir, worthy of Soviet Russia.
Love these tin/ metal toys restorations!
Another great restoration. It turned out nicely and I think the brass hardware is a distinctive touch. Be proud of this, hard work always pays off.
I absolutely love your work sir. Outstanding!
Brilliant project, and a lovely object too. Either as a Toy or an Ornament in a Man cave.
I quite like the colours you chose! The orange on the cockpit is like a mask and gives the plane a character appearance.
I think the colors are fun and whimsical! Great contrast to the white body, very fitting for a child's toy. Personally, I'd love to see a toy restoration where some of the parts are chromed! For example, on this plane, the leg supports and propeller, and maybe even the tail fins. Nice job!
I tend to lean towards painting stuff the original color all original no changes, no mater what. But when I saw this I kinda wondered if some of my things would look better in different colors... anyways! Amazing restoration I loved seeing it come together!
I love the colors and the brass screws!
Personally, I'd have gone with the original colours and decals. But then, if I'd done this, it wouldn't look half as good. Another amazing job.
Beautiful resto.
Just lovely! I always enjoy your work! The new brass screws and the brilliant colours were wonderful choices!
It's beautiful.
Beautiful restoration and the brass screws were an excellent addition!
Finished product looks great.
What an awesome final product .
