  • Alex Jones' lawyer Norm Pattis challenged Judge Barbara Bellis' decision to deny his motion to play the Megyn Kelly interview, arguing that the judge has no legal basis. "There's no there is no legal basis stated. I'm entitled to that under the practice book," Pattis said. "I believe that he argued it for 20 minutes, and I think the record is clear attorney Pattis," Bellis responded.

    What was said on another show has no place in this trial. Alex Jones and his council thought that they could draw this out forever by refusing to comply with court ordered discovery. He has been found liable for his claims by way of default judgment and whatever was said on Meghan Kelly only serves to confuse the jury about if the statements were untrue. This is about how much he owes the families for his claims which have already been adjudicated as defamatory. It’s really that easy.

      The only reason they are able to get Jones on statute of limitations is because Kelly brought it up in an interview. So literally this interview is relevant. If they didnt have the Kelly interview, after she promised not to ask him about Sandy hook. If that hadnt happened they would have passed statute of limitations

    • @notsparks
      @notsparks Před 2 lety +11

      @@mirandastephens4586 it's certainly relevant in the preliminary fault trial but Jones has already been found liable. He cannot at this juncture bring up such claims because that phase has ended. Had he complied with the court ordered discovery he certainly would have been able to use this information. Statute of limitations is only relevant to if you are liable, not how much you are liable for if you are liable

    • @TangoNevada
      @TangoNevada Před 2 lety +1

      @@mirandastephens4586 I don't believe that applies here. The statute is based on when the subject learned about the accusations or within a reasonable time, not when they were initially made. I would need to look up all the dates, but the lawsuits obviously were put in motion long before these trials, probably even before Meagan Kelly. It takes a while for certain cases to come to trial.

      Present his case? Did you even watch the first trial? The judge told him he was not allowed to speak like 100 times. I'm not an Alex Jones fan, and he is a huge loudmouth, but you are supposed to be able to explain things in your own words during court.
