Painted on aircraft markings are so awesome. Instead of decals, stencils/masks should be standard for the 32 scale :)
Totally agree + canopy masks with every kit!
@@ScaleHangar182 I do primarily WW2 aircraft and those %*(&^$@_ birdcage canopies drive me up the damn wall.
Yeah but decals can look painted on if you do it right.
Unless you work for a Hollyweird model shop, it should be about having fun.
That said I've built a 1/32 scale F4, but it was Steve Ritchie's USAF with the Vietnam-era camo.
It hung from my bedroom ceiling for years, in constant pursuit of the 1/32 scale MiG-21 that was part of the Revell set.
Just about the highest level of build I've ever seen. Museum quality build. I crewed on the F-4 Phantom and he didn't miss a thing. Very beautifully done. The weathering is spot on.

Except in reality, they can be far worse. It's not an obsession with weathering it's an obsession of matching reference pictures.
That's the central fuel tank, genius and yes, they weather pretty heavily

The F-4 is my all time favorite jet. I used to see them everyday when I was in Chu Lai 68-69 1st MAW MAG 12. And the Chinooks and the Huey gunships.
Amazing work
The nose cone on this F-4 should be white not black. I served on Rosie from 1974-1978 and i have numerous photos of VF-84 planes on the deck from our 75 Med cruise. Great job on this model, brings back fond memories. Love to have one myself.

Would love to see a side-by-side comparison of the kit included parts and the after-market/3D-printed ones you used in the build.
Super job on the 1/32 scale. I always try to build the 1/32 scale because there are lots of details you can't see on 1/72 or even 1/48 scale. I built 1/48 Phantom and Tomcat and was frustrated trying to handle the small parts.
Perfect build up to that the cockpit is brand new. Some chipping would be nice. Over all nice build, let's show more

quite a while back saw a similar build VF-84 yet this one was more extensive w the F-4 being chained down wings folded & having deck crew figures around it yet, another outstanding build no doubt!!!!

When you cut the decals out, you should be able to apply a low tack masking tape over them to keep the multi-part decals (like the skull) together while you apply the mask to the model, then remove the tape, leaving the decal in place, unless that decal material is already very low tack.
Beautiful kit mods sure are expensive but so rewarding
