I’m 49, “successful”, don’t drink, had never done a party drug as a kid. Was always on the straight and narrow as a result of a chaotic upbringing. At 40 yrs old, did psychedelics (5 MEO-DMT, ayahuasca with shaman) and it’s radically changed my life for the better. ❤ I’ve accessed a deeper intelligence within and without. My mind and heart are expanded beyond measure and I’ve discovered a pliability within myself that enriches me and gives me a deeper understanding for the nature of life and being human.

Having gone quite far with the psychedelics, I had originally thought they were a good thing. Now, I have a different perspective. I am becoming more and more convinced this was the forbidden fruit referred to in Genesis. The knowledge we gain is not meant for us. We do not understand it, and are left susceptible to be deceived by ancient beings with much more knowledge than us. You begin by feeling connected to every thing and eventually proclaim yourself as being a god. "Even Satan masquerades as an angel of light."

Wise old men (and women) were and always will be the repository of the essence of human wisdom and experience.
We have listened to them, sitting around fire for ages, all across the world.
They are the true story tellers, having stumbled through the jungle of life, tasting the sweet fruits and licking their wounds from the thorny bushes. They have healed and hopefully have a poise and sanity not readily accessible in youth.
Its wonderful and sad at the same time, that we have to mostly come to the internet to access them today.

I keenly enjoyed the teaser trailer yesterday and have been looking forward to the conversation ever since! Will be watching after the kids go to bed because I want to be able to concentrate without interruptions.
I got the biggest kick out of your Babylon Bee interview with Travis, dearest Dr. Peterson! It was such a delight to me to see you enjoying yourself hugely, so good to hear you genuinely laugh because the interview struck you funny and not because poor human nature is being what it is. The bits that made me laugh till I cried was watching you trying and failing to keep a straight face. I never forget what it was like seeing you so sick we thought you might never laugh again, and now you do, and it’s so good.
Dr. Peterson, I know you’re having the devil’s own time with religious trolls lately, and I was thinking. Jonathan’s been talking about the gargoyles on the outside of the church. They are the fringe, the guardians of the church. Sometimes frightening, sometimes grotesque, sometimes grimly amusing, but always off-putting. They don’t represent anything connected with church but there they are, difficult to ignore, impossible to explain. And I think that the religious trolls, online or in person, correspond with those gargoyles. I don’t know what purpose they serve. Perhaps they are intended to test the resolve of those who might enter the church but are fearful. What I do know is that perfect theology does not make a person a Christian; only living in imitation of Christ does.
That’s all the thoughts my children are letting me think for the moment so I will return to listen later on.
    With so very much love
    Ruth Anne ❤

@@DailyCorvid oh no, the trolls are out tonight! You can tell, I think, that I put my whole heart into everything I write, even if it is only a CZcams comment, because there isn’t any point in writing otherwise. I was thinking about your comment on Our Lord coming back to judge the world in righteousness, and how His peaceful and meek and gentle side will be in abeyance on that day, and I connected that in my thoughts with the Revelations, and the image of Our Lord as a judge with a sword coming out of his mouth. The imagery was of Our Lord girt about the breast with a golden girdle, and I was taught that symbolizes that His divine affections were restrained, bound in, not pouring forth but constrained, until the judgement demanded by His holiness was complete. Your comment reminded me of those meditations.

As a dane It's so cool to see a guest from our little country. I was not aware of Tor's existence, so this is really cool as I'm also very interested in consciousness and the mind.
This episode was really entertaining and touched on many topics I enjoyed pondering on. The mind is so amazingly fascinating and I can feel there's a lot left to be discovered. I say that because I've experienced first hand the unbelievable capability of the brain when asleep and barely conscious as a very lucid dreamer. With the things I see, it's no wonder fantastical ideas in myths and ancient religious imagery were imagined. Much like AI is based on input, our brain and what we imagine also operates on input, but there's much more variance than just that, as we're biological. That's why I think any super advanced AI would have to be biomechanical.
What I keep coming back to is that chaos to some extent is a necessary good, otherwise we would never have been wired to deal with it. We wouldn't have made a shield to block it with.

A shield or a sieve? Or maybe a filter? Or maybe filter(s), plural, probably connected to each subconscious domain. Anger, hunger and so on. Filters scan the chaos for any tools or obstacles as sense data comes in. UseFUL proceeds to awareness for evaluation to current aims and goals; useLESS gets stored, probably during sleep when external input overload slows them stops, into whichever categories the input goes per individual filters so isn't processed continually. Or that can be recalled later if goals or paths have to change later due to change in circumstances.
Why lack of GOOD sleep is so detrimental. Can never offload the useless "stuff" like when a computer is never cold booted. HA!

I have also been reading about neurogenesis associated with cubensis mushrooms and the effects of lions main on brain health. I have been wondering if microdosing using hemisphere synchronization in the Alpha range coupled with specific study materials might speed up memorization.

It was in watching Jordan in this video, especially around the midpoint when he brought in Jehovah placing Moses in the cleft of the rock, the Tower of Babel, and Cain and Abel, that I realized I should also be looking for opportunities to bring these and other Biblical stories into my conversations. He really has inspired me to push forward assertively but graciously with these illustrations that are embedded with rich meaning.

Fascinating Conversation, Jordan B. Peterson. I do think Tor Nørretranders has quite a naïve view of what Love is, as an opposite of Evil. Sure, the Love, specifically Agape, that is a consequence of Judeo-Christian Morality is diametrical opposite to (Satan's equivalent of "love", namely) Evil. But I don't see for instance Romantic Love necessarily as an opposite or opposing Force to Evil. I've "been around the block". I've been an Agnostic, Atheist and Buddhist (mostly for its Philosophical Teachings). But I realized: -Nothing but Almighty GOD can fill that GOD-shaped hole in my Soul. And when it comes to remedy Satan's own Evil - only GOD's Love and the generation of Love we get from practicing HIS Moral Laws can really fight and destroy Evil in the ultimate.

Further to the discussion of agriculture, I am reminded of the 7-year cycles required in the promised land when the children of Israel returned from Egypt. The land was to lie fallow every 7th year, which affected farming practices throughout the 7-year cycle. During the 7th year the people ate what the land produced naturally, plus what they had saved from the 6th year (in which God promised abundant harvests).

I love their discussion on fine dining and how an emphasis on local seasonal crops is what's made Noma stand out on a global stage.
But cooking as an artform is still rich despite the reliance on staples like the 4 crops.
So what happens if everyone adopts this seasonal mentality?
Would the hypothetical ideal be techniques from every culinary tradition applied to the local ingredients of every region?
Food is already incredibly diverse now, but the possibilities are endless!

Dr. Peterson I was blessed to watch your we who wrestle with God lecture in OKC. I hope that you saw my question after the lecture if not I will be reposting this a few times as to possibly have you see it hopefully I'm not annoying. The question I would like to hear answered is why is the Logos of the Universe on a Cross, why would he promise us anything, and do the promises he made apply to you? I have my own thoughts on it but your perspective is so Brilliant that I think that it would do the world some good or at least my consens. Thank you if you ever read this and thank you more if you ever answer my question. Thank you!
