I started in the other part of the map with Castii and adding Temenos, Throne and Osvald last made me feel like I waited with the very best until last. The game already had felt amazing up until that point, but finding Delsta, Winterbloom, Frigit Isle.. was absolutely breath taking.
For mw, this really associated me to Osvald, mainly for the fact that he lost his wife and daughter and it is almost like they are singing to him as he journies on for his revenge.
God man you really hit me in the heart with that one! And im sure that is partly what was on the minds of the composer since this plays in his beginning area. Its sad sounding for a reason and what I love about Octopath 2 is you may not have the most context in story, but you have enough where you can start filling in the gaps with your own imagination. Its one of those things i love about the older games
osvald is the best starter by miles compared to others and he is also next to the second best starter which is throne. then next to throne is temenos which compliment throne's night ability in battle for a complete 3 turns full buffs and debuffs to end battles fast.

It’s one of those ost that makes you remember the game so vividly-5, 10, or 20 years from now…
So glad that I started with Osvald. Such beautiful music in his first two chapters
Fr. Without Hope Without Warmth is one of my favorite Octopath town themes, and Osvald's theme is my favorite out of all the travelers'

What a beautiful soundtrack. The snow soundtracks are usally so mystical. Amazing!
Snow music always tends to be the most gorgeous music when it doesn't try to sound like Christmas
Throne/temnous/Oswald starting the game with these three really gives you a very gothicly beautiful start to the game.
They really put the 3 antihero-esque ones on the same island
