I bought the ETS 150/5 EC a couple of years ago. I used it on a tabletop and saw swirl marks on it when I applied stain. Those marks were like something you would see after using a 1960's old rectangular Craftsman, just hideous. I was using Klingspor sanding discs and did my usual progression of grits ending with 220. I had the sander hooked up to a CT 26 and have since learned that the vacuum setting while sanding should be set on low, which was news to me. I also bought some Festool sanding discs. That helped somewhat, but I'm still not sold on the product. The dust extraction works fine but the finish quality isn't stellar by any means. Thanks for posting. Mark

ok that demo where you just let the sander go is an awesome demo and if I didn't already buy one I would have run out a purchased one right then. I'm in love with my Festool ETS125, we are planning a spring wedding, Sandpaper is requested in lieu of flowers 😂😂😋

Had the low end 5" festool sander for about a year now. Finally deciding I'll spend some money and get the EC 150/5 and I come to find out they're nowhere to be found in the market and not supposed to be in stock for months.

Yes this is true for many of the Festool sanders right now, due to supply chain shortages.

One thing about the EC sanders - you can swap a 125mm pad for a 150mm pad, which essentially gives you two sanders in one.

That was a great sander comparison, just subbed to your channel. I'm planning to buy a Festool sander soon, and was wondering would the RO 150 be too heavy to sand paint off plasterboard walls for pre-painting prep? I'll mainly be using it to sand wooden panels on my workbench but it would be nice to use the same sander for DIY painting projects. Thanks very much.

Let’s exam your ‘logic’, a Rolex 150 doesn’t use a Rotex specific sanding disc, you use the same 150mm disc for multiple machines as well from various vendors. DA sanders come in various form factors, circular, rectangular, delta. The point that I made in my post, was the title for this video is ‘Complete Lineup’, this is not the case the sanders shown/used are all ‘disc’ sanders. BTW ‘Disc Sanders’ come in multiple versions, stationary, portable, corded, cordless, etc.

"Orbital" vs "Random Orbit" is confusing! An "orbital" is non-rotating pad that vibrates (circular pattern), and "random orbit" spins and rotates at the same time ("star" pattern). There is also the "grinder" that only spins. A "DA" sander can either random orbit or spin like a grinder... I am pointing this out because I was shopping for a sander sold in two variants, "orbital" or "random orbit"...a challenge to pick the right one when seemingly everyone mixes up the terminology.
