  • Valeria is one of Italy's best-known female actors. She played a leading role in Rainman, in the Italian film Respiro and recently played Danae Stratou in 'Adults in the Room', the film by Costa-Gavras based on Yanis Varoufakis' book of the same title.
The coronavirus crisis is revealing that the powers that be of the European Union have learned nothing from the Eurocrisis.
They are currently betraying the interests of the majority of Europeans in the same way that they have done so in 2010 -- by failing to mobilize existing money and public financial instruments in the interests of the many. With their current decisions, they are jeopardizing public health, public goods and the interests of Europeans.
We call it TV because we like retro-futurism. But it's much more than TV. In times of global pandemics, DiEM25 is launching a special online and completely free program to understand the current crisis and offer tools and hope to get out of it stronger and more united in building the World After Coronavirus. Everyone will be able to join and pose questions, suggest next topics and next guests!

Having read various books by Yanis Varoufakis, I'll have to catch up with dvd's: Valeria Golino as actress AND director. I wanted to say that I loved the episode about Lampedusa (Il Gattopardo AND refugee island), but so many insights are sparking off the video that I must thank both participants for an interview full of joy!

I'm not necessarily sold on all of Mr. Vanoufakis's ideas, and it's not necessarily because I happen to live in Berlin. But I simply like the guy, and watch him a lot.

Like all ideological dreamers, he works off an incomplete data set and dodgy reasoning to come to bad conclusions... but he does act in good faith, so there's at least that.

Me and a friend of mine squabbled over Ladri di biciclete -- which has more the calm of a running gag now. As we used to have heated debates in bars over various Bertolucci movies.
