these are gorgeous! Where are they all today????
Claire's!
oh my gosh.... i really really want to purchase that ear cuffs... so pretty!!
It’s interesting to see how fashions come back around with the more recent use of large novelty earrings like rubber ducks and baubles. Feels like a the same idea with a modern twist.
The 1950s was great for costume jewelry where the inspiration was elite rich film stars, with men reentering workforces there was a mix of wealthy women and men after ww2 both of whom would like to dress up or appear fancy for daytime events/house events. (From war rationing to post war economic miracles there’s a little bit of glam eccentricity.)
The current fashion of having large bobbly earrings/random items comes from a mix of punk history (1980-90s where recycling old items was a necessity to being punk leather was a second hand store item from the 1960s biker gangs, anything thrifted from prior eras could be turned into smt punk) and 90s-2010s economic crash and the rise of diy/Etsy. (Mostly women could earn a second income through hand making earrings/accessories and have a system of female buyers and sellers so chunky handmade jewlery for soccer moms or to a teenagers slap-bracelet/braided bracelets could be sold/purchased)
Currently in 2020 chunky handmade diy earrings are a symbol of independent privatized ownership of goods not through a corporation, it’s a handmade item from someone who’s also probably middle class or lower as most for sell earrings are Dollar-Tree items fitted to earring parts. It’s also heavily used by punk and lgbt groups due to the lack of corporation, supporting independent artists/craftsmen, and being able to signal in public discretely.
Some earrings are like staple lesbian earrings and it’s too difficult to explain what makes a pair semi-targeting that market and just a normal set but the earrings are about as much of a clue in as a colored handkerchief.
Omg that last earcuff tho!! I love it!
I love her hairstyle, the black dress and the wide belt, and those earcuffs!
Man! To live in a time where clip-ons were the norm! Now I have to wear the same few good pair all the time...
I LOVE her hair!
i actually love the champagne bucket
Things I really really love : Vintage Eyeglasses, Earrings and Rings! I have tons of earnings and rings
Champagne bucket for the win.
I WANT THEM O_O
The ones that go all the way up her ears are so similar to ones I've been seeing for the past few years-didn't realize they wore that style back then too
@cj222100 As said by King Solomon 3500 years ago: There's nothing new under the sun!
those were actually lovely besides the ski man & champagne & traffic lights
I wish shows were produced like this these days. Music is great ha

Lovely. So warm and lovely.
I'm voting for the stop light !!!
I do so enjoy peering through these little windows back in time.
I wanted nearly all of those earrings. The cuckoo clocks made my eyes wide!
I love these fun earrings!!
So nice!
I liked those too!
Those are so cute

her skin is amazing
1:57 is my favorite ❤️❤️❤️
I want the diamond ones that cover the whole ear!
"the model hand might have been inspired by a native custom of wearing human teeth as earrings"
What??? that's insane!
They're clip-on earrings.
most of them are the screw-on type I think and a few are clip-on
Amazing. I wish if I was living these days.
Look like Christmas decorations
Love the narrator: "Bewildering baubles" XD
I spotted a set of skulls! That's unbelievable. And I recommend to never simply pull your clip-ons off. That will cause earlobe sagging. Open the clip with your hand so it will fall off
Pat Butcher would be elated
thanke
Parecen adornos de árbol de navidad jajajaja
She's very cute
the hands!
Oh goodness, those are clip-on aren't they? It makes my earlobes hurt to watch. >.
Some of these are really nice, I'd buy them if they were smaller
Too, too darling! I really want those “Cuckoo Clock Earrings”! With today’s technology they could probably remake them so that a little cuckoo “Cuckoo Bird” pops out on the hour! I would definitely buy them if they did that. Look at all the clip on earrings, those were the days when a woman used to remove her earring before putting the phone up to their ear. Oh my goodness, imagine if today’s youth had to do that? 😳🙄😂🤣😂
Terrica Williams Taft primary princess cessation
The modern tendency is to the earrings get bigger.
Sis.
I want to meet this lady and say
sis, you are stunning ❤️
Suffering husbands omg they back in time !!!!!!
I would wear all those earrings
Bewildering Baubles - sounds like something Robin might say in an old school Batman and Robin.
That's what I'm saying! Why wasn't it popular anymore?
They are, check out Etsy and craft stores
Balls on each ear? Sends a message.
Some of those earrings had the size of my nightlamp.....God...poor ears.
Kris jenner would’ve loved this!
Anyone watching this in 2020
the cuckoo clocks though.
they didnt even had to had theyre ears pierced!! of course those earing hurt like hell, but who cares!!? xD
Many look so heavy.
I can't believe her nails weren't done.
human teeth as earring...DEAR GOD!
Lol, clip ons...
1:53 ummm, inspired by wearing human teeth. Well that's a fashion accessory
Their baby teeth that is
If she was alive today and working as a model. She would have been told that she was morbidly obese.
yep
Only high fashion models are extremely thin. Commercial and glamour/men's magazine models have toned and healthy bodies.
CaramelDermis Actually they are just as thin. Since they know that the camera adds 'weight' to the image. Take a look at the before and after in the following links and then try to tell me that they use 'average' sized models. As in they are very similar to how men & women really look. Many of the models have a BMI of 14-16. Many of the models are battling eating disorders.

sangeliastorck The examples used in those links are of high fashion models (except for Cameron Diaz, who is toned and not anorexic looking). As for the average fashion model being 23% thinner than the average woman, that may be because the average woman in the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia is overweight. I've yet to see a man or woman in ANY television commercial, print ad, in-store advertisement, or pornographic material who looked anorexic (there are a few ectomorphs here and there, but no one displaying anorexic traits).
High fashion models don't look like the average woman because they're not targeted towards the average woman; they're targeted toward those who buy clothes for high class status above all. Speaking of which, I'm surprised it hasn't occurred to anyone that the trend of increasingly thin high fashion models may be caused precisely by the ever-rising rate of overweight and obese people in the Western world. Being overweight was once a way of displaying status by differentiating oneself from the poor, and now that saturated/fattening foods are most commonly consumed by the poor because of their cheapness/abundance, we see the reverse trend happening.
sangeliastorck Of the most highly paid/successful actresses today, the only anorexic looking one that comes to mind is Angelina Jolie.

Glad times have greatly improved. These are some gaudy AF earrings. Comical even.
I like a lot of the fashions on this channel but those earrings are hideous.
Did she just put back the earrings after having tried them on? Hygiene much..
It's the 50's people had chemistry sets with real chemicals and uranium.
They’re clip-ons
