    Welcome back! 🎉 Great video!! Very informative. Have you met any ENTJs that aren’t involved in the business world? Like for instance, maybe one who is a stay-at-home parent who works on some projects on the side? Just curious. 😊

    • @beatofmyown
      @beatofmyown  Před 3 měsíci +6

      This is a very good question. I personally don’t think being a stay-at-home mom takes you out of the running for being an ENTJ.
      The most noticeable thing about the ENTJ is their ability to do what is uncomfortable to enjoy what they set out to do. The ultimate pragmatist. So this mindset can be translated to a sahm.
      For example, I imagine the ENTJ sahm would personally choose to give up everything in order to devote herself to taking care of her children, including her own personal ambitions and comfort. Simple as that. No more entertaining ideas.
      This is very different from the idealistic “girl boss” that won’t truly stop entertaining ideas until she feels like she has reached a state of perfection, where everything is accounted for and comfortable. Seeking to become the special one who ends up figuring out how to do it all, the impossible.
      When you think of it this way, to be an ENTJ doesn’t strictly mean being involved in business. Other types do this as well.
      I hope that makes sense!

    Great video!
    I went through a phase of understanding where I really saw things hinging on rational and irrational, and kind of went through the balancing of how I see that (because the irrational types sound worse, but really when you see someone acting too heavily on a principle that just doesn't fit a situation, it shows the flaws that can occur..) I feel like you may have also been showing this dichotomy in a more balancing light in this video. I've found Gulenko to be absolutely unfair in favor of the rational types, and then horribly negative toward the irrational types and I think that the community as a whole won't easily have a fair view of the negative qualities of the rational types, or the positive ones of the irrational types.
    I find some elements of ISFP's (in my opinion) seem to also get mistyped into ENTJ's, and when the person is a woman, this seems more clear. However, there are men too that do this, and I think by the way that society teaches gender, this one really slips between the cracks due to being less visible.
    In my view, every gamma quadra has a specific element to their Fi. In my view, it is because it is unconsciously driven by Si, which tends to look for things being appropriate, thus I find their Si within their Fi. This is all way too technical, and the source as far as I know it is me, but I find that ENTJ's access their Fi best when Se is also involved. To me, this means that they need to have kind of room to not be too prim/proper to use their Fi, and the attitude of a comedy roast or whatnot seems very healthy because it allows them the unrestricted space to explore their Fi, and tap in to that part of themselves.
    Sorry that you had that one commenter on this video that was really rude. I'd say it there but I don't want to incite the situation. I'm really glad to see an ESFP's perspective going into the theory, I've learned a lot by seeing how different types approach and deal with these sorts of topics.

    • @beatofmyown
      @beatofmyown  Před 3 měsíci +2

      I’ve read gulenko’s book on the types and I did notice a bias in the way the types were presented, even outside of irrational vs rational. It seems that he is speaking about the types from HIS observations, while not really touching upon WHY they behave this way. And even when he is talking about the why, it doesn’t seem to quite nail it. I still enjoy his work though.
      And I also agree that a lot of ISFPs can appear ENTJ-ish. But then again, doesn’t every gamma type kind of appear like an ENTJ? 😝

    • @realitiesoftypology7502
      @realitiesoftypology7502 Před 3 měsíci

      It might depend on the culture they are in. In the cultures I have seen, this ISFP ENTJ confusion seems to be the highest gamma quadra link of that sort, and in other cultures that accentuate other parts of people, perhaps it is different.
      I agree that finding the why is the important part, otherwise typology is just kind of cultures disagreeing with each other. In my attempts to find that, there has always been some cross talk of other elements I suppose. I think your understanding of the why probably will reveal the parts I'm missing and filling in with cultural elements.

    Hello Aimee! I'm glad to see you back and making videos again. I've commented before on some of your other videos but if you have a minute I would like to ask a question. I absolutely understand what you were talking about when it comes to the lack of articulatable abstraction (Ne) in favor of actualized abstraction (Ni) and I've seen it very consistently in those that I am close with who are Gamma types. Likewise, I would appreciate your thoughts on the following predicament: For the longest time I've known that I'm a Te dominant, yet I was always like "Oh yeah the realm of the real is where it's at!" But whenever I'd turn my back on what I thought was "Ideational nonsense" my heart (probably Fi) would tell me "there's more for you in store if you keep pushing past your boundaries and grasp the nature of all things". Which typing it out know seems really weird but it's something I could never shake even when I tried to live the mold of an ESTJ as best as possible. Similarly, I've done my best to be "one of the boys" and pull off resembling a frat-bro (reversed engineered the fit/drip). But the moment I open my mouth I'm talking about the most esoteric niche topics with deep implications and all the homies and potential date-options that were fooled by my contrived bro-ness are "stun-locked" for lack of a better phrase. It's happened more and more these past two years and I'm starting to think I actually use intuition more than a sensory function (more than si aux / Se demo). I would love to hear your thoughts and if my predicament aligns with that of using Se tert as a crutch and neglecting Ni as an aux. Thanks in advance for your time!

    • @beatofmyown
      @beatofmyown  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Hi! I loved that you asked this on the ENTJ video because I’m sure others would love to read the answer to this question as well. It’s gonna be long, but I think it will be quite easy to follow.
      With the ESTJ, due to their Si aux, they seek verification for everything. This verification could be in the form of personal or other people’s experiences. It could even be something they’ve read as well.
      Imagine a judge or a lawyer that demands proof of every accusation made, so that they can make the best informed decision. After all, you wouldn’t want to let a killer go back out onto the streets. Nor would you want to let an innocent man go to jail, either. This is the typical role of the ES*Js in our society.
      Now if we just take only the outline of this ES*J personality, you will see that someone who continues to pursue their dreams, or at least keeps these dreams in their mind objectively, fits perfectly into this outline of the ES*J. Someone like yourself, as you describe in your comment. 😊
      Imagine someone like Walt Disney, who I suspect is an ES*J. He doesn’t care if you are poor, ugly, or where you’re from. At least, this is the way he presents himself.
      Walt Disney’s whole philosophy is that as long as you can dream it, you can do it. Or in typology terms, until you receive “proof” that you cannot bring into existence, it is worth entertaining objectively at the very least (Ne). So don’t stop making your dreams come true.
      The negative is that I’ve noticed ES*Js do have a tendency to get caught for tax fraud or some other stupid, detailed paperwork thing because of this type of philosophy. I think it’s the hyperactive Ne that tricks them into investing more time in things that bring about MORE possibilities, MORE stability for the self, while not really investing in that which cannot be proven to “work” right away. (Although once they’ve verified that it’s doable, they might start implementing what they envision slowly.)
      The ENTJ, or gamma types in general, don’t exactly work in this way. The essence of the gammas, especially the ENTJ, is all about using their imagination to fill in the blanks. Rather than verifying for themselves what works and what doesn’t. Abandoning, in favor of gaining in a very literal sense, such as, gaining money, land, or even intense sensory experiences. Truly being grounded in raw, tangible experience.
      Super long, but I hope this helps you! 😊 Don’t let the nonsense in the MBTI community fool you into thinking that only Ni types have visions. It’s actually quite the opposite. 😝

      @@beatofmyown Just wanted to come back and say that I really appreciate that you took the time to answer my question. I definitely did some soul-searching for the past few days and yeah I agree with your estimation. However, I would think that the sometimes laborious nature of Si would lead Ne doms to try and undercut processes that rely on such vast quantities of physical data and would thus suspect that the tax-fraud analogy may be more applicable to ENXPs in general.

      @@beatofmyown I noticed this as well (my mother's an ESFJ) and it has a lot to do with the "if I have not seen it before, it's not real" nature of Si. It's that inability to take a decision on something "unverified" even if all the clues are pointing at it. They basically NEED to see it to factor it into their reasoning.
      So for something that has the strong potential to happen due to a particular arrangement of factors - which would be picked up more easily by an Ni dominant whose way of perceiving is primed for this - an ESxJ would write it off as conjecture because in their minds (due to Ne) a range of other things are just as possible.

    ENTJ has Ne demonstrative. I'm pretty sure they can explore the possibilities and be creative and use it to serve the goal.

    • @beatofmyown
      @beatofmyown  Před 2 měsíci

      A demonstrative function is never so strong that it overpowers the overall archetype of that person.
      If you put an ENFP, ESTJ, and an ENTJ to work on a single task, for example, it will be obvious who is an Ne type, and who is not.
      The obvious difference is that ESTJs and ENFPs are “creative,” in the sense that they would do anything to protect their Si comfort. An ENTJ is Si polr. The most obvious thing about them is that they’re not the most “creative” personality because their ideas are not generated under the condition that Si has to be maintained.
      When they’re being “creative” in any way, Ne base types would look at them like, “There were so many other routes we could’ve taken that would’ve made this process a whole lot comfortable AND we would’ve gotten similar results. Maybe not the exact goal, but close enough.”
      Hence the reason why ENTJs are also strategic types, while ENFPs and ESTJs are tactical types. The latter is willing to sacrifice the end goal a bit, and the former focuses on the goal and adjusts themselves to the goal. But we won’t get into that in this comment.

      @@beatofmyown ENTJs Ne is actually stronger than ESTJ Ne and likely better. It's 4D Ne. They just don't prefer it because it is not in their 4 stack. They use it when it is called upon to eg brainstorm solutions or risks for self or others. The people that rival them are other 4D Ne users like IEE and ILE. The same way ENTJs Se isn't stronger than ESTJ Se. ESTJs have Se demonstrative but have a preference for Si.

    • @beatofmyown
      @beatofmyown  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@ijmimi9186 But again, it is not so strong that it affects the personality type holistically. Theoretically, maybe. But in reality, if you actually interact with an LIE and an ILE, an LIE’s Ne is not so strong that you would mistake the LIE for the ILE. In reality, you would not mistake the LSE for the SLE, just because of demonstrative Se. They are completely different.
      So if your Ne is so strong, as in this is somebody who has a lot of creative ideas (Ne), but no Ni to actually make any drastic, uncomfortable changes in their routines, chances are, you are looking at an Ne type. Not an LIE with demonstrative Ne. Because an LIE with demonstrative Ne is ultimately not Si-valuing. They SACRIFICE opportunities for the sake of the goal.

      @@ijmimi9186 And “risks self for others” is not Ne, btw. An LIE, yes, they may sacrifice themselves for others, at the expense of Si. Hence the reason why an LIE is an Se type, Si polr.

      @ijmimi9186 Před 2 měsíci

      @@beatofmyown I don't think you are understanding me. I said strength and I said preference. The fact that LIE does not prefer their Ne means that they can't be mistaken for Ne base. Those people have a preference for it. It is always, always used and always preferred. I am referring to strength. It's like a super jacked guy who works at a warehouse lifting stuff vs a very strong equally strong guy who doesn't lift stuff around for his job bit can when he needs to. You won't mistake one for the other but they are equally strong. LIE will sacrifice Ne because it is not preferred but it is very strong hence, 4D. LIEs are known to experiment with different opportunities to find one that works and then stick to it but have no problem abandoning it and finding new opportunities as soon as it no longer serves its purpose. When they need to call upon Ne, they use it excellently vs ESTJs who call upon it more but don't have a skillful use of it (Ne 3rd slot), and vs IEE who call upon it all the time but also use it excellently. Demonstrative is used skillfully and precisely but not as often because it is not preferred. Addressing this because your statement said LIEs might not be as creative or something along those lines. They are. It's just only in service to their goals. As opposed to Ne base seeking opportunies constantly, just because.

    Ayo another video! ❤

  • @Adriana.Gabriela
    @Adriana.Gabriela Před 3 měsíci +5

    Some things are correct, but some def. not. I originally wrote this as a comment under a post where someone linked the video, so I will leave it as is, instead of replacing every "Aimee" with "you", etc.
    1. The creative part, I would say so-so, but true to am extent. Some ENTJs I've met definitely have a harder time being creative, e.g I don't. But it might also be because I'm an HSP (a fun combination with being an ENTJ 8 😅), so it was quite easy (a lot of work, but easier than for an average ENTJ) to develop my Fi properly. And while part of my creativity has always been there (probably learned/developed throughout early childhood), I definitely saw a boost as I developed my Fi more. But I do believe that even in this case creativity is still largely led by Te. NiFi can be creative, especially also with some Ti (common to find it developed in ENTJs) - in this case TiNi help deconstruct and analyze things that can then be contstructed in new ways or even with an add-on of something "new", while Te makes sure that everything still makes sense and has a purpose. (E.g. by asking if this design/idea/whatever would work for the ideal client, etc.)
    But also, talking about ENTJs in general, we're some of the best problem solvers out there, and problem solving sometimes requires creativity.
    All in all, I would say that maybe stereotypical creativity doesn't come as easy as for some other types, and is largely analysis+solution based, but we can definitely be creative.
    Heck, when I was a kid, I won two creativity-based contests. One was for writing a play that would end up on stage, and the other one was a haiku that would be hung on the classroom wall.
    2. We would definitely think about rationing and similar first, finding new land later. We're all about efficiency, and rationing is way more efficient as a starter point for everything else than going straight for conquering. Plus, she was contradictory to what she said earlier about us being natural at business and resources allocation, because they work on the same base principle as rationing.
    3. Idk if I misheard sth because it's late (2am) or she is contradictory again, but first she says we aren't the best at being creative, but then that we have great imagination 🤔
    4. A lot of ENTJs I know (and also the theory agrees) have a quite developed Fe, though we prefer using it for business purposes. I know I use it only when I see fit, but I think a lot of what seems as Fe is actually TeFi. TeFi (or maybe TeNiFi) means being good at cognitive empathy, so as long as your Fi isn't dead, you will have a degree of understanding and cognitive-empathysing with other people, especially for things that are logical. Ofc, the more developed Fi, the greater cognitive empathy is. That said, even the blindest Fi ENTJ I know personally (my ex) is not THAT Fi blind.
    Also, I don't believe the youtuber she typed as ENTJ is ENTJ. She does seem to be a thinker based on some of the videos I've seen, but not like a Te lead. We're more put together from my experience - can be a bit more into it if we're trying to make an incompetent person do their job (depends on the maturity), but not when arguing with nobody about what someone said or did. Based on the amount of put-togetherness and "arguing" style, I would sooner type her as ENTP.
    And what Aimee says about her opinions, context, etc. is more true for ENTPs than ENTJs. I haven't watched enough of her (other youtuber) videos to actually comment on the other functions, but we argue to get to the truth (so context and taking all data into account is neccessary - you also can't be really good at business without it), while ENTPs usually argue for the sake of arguing, and often find it hard to consider other points of view (though I have met a total of one ENTJ that is somewhat like that, but not as much as ENTPs, plus he's very unhealthy).
    It seems to me that Aimee definitely lacks logic, understanding and consistency in what she is saying.

    • @beatofmyown
      @beatofmyown  Před 3 měsíci

      The only thing I would correct here, because the difference really matters when understanding the ENTJ, is that creativity is not exactly the same thing as imagination in the context of this video.
      For example, you can BE creative, but lack the imagination to DO something with your creativity.
      In my video, I say that the ENTJ lacks the creativity of other types, especially Ne types, who can seemingly provide “creative ways” to ration, for example.
      But when it comes to having the imagination to say, “Why don’t we try something other than rationing, because inevitably, we can only ration so far. And maybe it’s time for drastic change,” this is a different story.

    • @Adriana.Gabriela
      @Adriana.Gabriela Před 3 měsíci +3

      @@beatofmyown yes, definitely not as (easily) creative as high Ne users, but I disagree with the creativity vs. imagination. True, they're not complete synonyms, but imagination is an integral part of creativity, not separate from it. I would say we use imagination with a purpose, while Ne users are, well, being Ne users - less purpose, more trying everything.
      Rationing isn't about creativity, though. It's about efficiency. That's the whole purpose of it. And when it comes to that, we're one of the best types to find new solutions if they're gonna make things more efficient.
      But the last point I said is definitely where you made a mistake. To add to it, none of the ENTJs I've met are that bossy as she seems to be, not even 8s, again unless it's a very specific situation of incompetence and the ENTJ isn't that healthy. It also complies with the theory. However, the ENTPs I've met can be very bossy, and some could definitely be mistaken for ENTJs (e.g. a friend of mine of 15+ years), but when you know the functions, you can see they're ENTP.
      And one thing I should have clarified more in the original comment, TeFi is more put together compared to e.g. TeFe (ESTJs, ESFJs) or TiFe (ENTPs). There's a degree of neuroticism in her videos, and although ofc there are always exceptions (e.g ESFPs can be quite neurotic if immature), Fe users tend to be more (often) neurotic than Fi users. And neuroticism leads to being bossy more than being a leader
