Canoeing the West Branch of the Union River in Summer 🛶🎣

July 2024 - we paddled the Union River West Branch from Great Pond to Tannery Falls in Amherst (11.5 miles). Although summertime is generally considered too little water to run, we managed it without much trouble (but plenty of dragging through shallows). Hot weather, but being in the water constantly made it just fine. Probably 20+ fish caught (smallmouth bass), and few signs of humans along the whole stretch. Beautiful stretch of river.
