- In this video I will walk you through the installation of the XTOOL D1 Pro 40W laser upgrade. We will go from the unboxing all the way through assembly and onto processing sample jobs. I have tried to be as thorough and detailed as possible in this 40W setup guide and I even have new upgrades and accessories available for your XTOOL D1 Pro.
@xToollaser sent me the D1 Pro 40W model to test and I've been impressed with the power available in a 40W diode laser. In one of the sample jobs covered in this video I was able to cut through stainless steel shim stock as well as 19mm (3/4") plywood.

Always remember to practice proper laser safety. These lasers can seriously harm you directly (your eyes) or indirectly (your lungs and health). ALWAYS wear your safety glasses! By-products from processing certain materials can be toxic and harm you. DO NOT CUT vinyl materials like PVC. Check this list for hazardous materials before cutting something:

Very good video as usual. I really like the switch for the RA2
Thanks annamal, hope you get the chance to check it out on my website as well!
Awesome video as usual! Keep up the great work.
Dude, you are really good, thanks
I appreciate that!
I believe if you are using creative space, you can highlight your entire project and use the combine tab. This makes the entire image as 1 process then you can add your passes. This will make it complete the full project before starting 2nd passes.
Awesome tip, I'll have to give that a try!
Ok, one more. Can the 10w cut super thin on paper and thin wood or can this be done on 40w
I don't see why not. I can test it for you but you should just be able to just dial the power down very low and it would be fine for thin materials
@@EmbraceMaking thanks
Will you add PayPal credit as a form of payment? I've got 2 more things I want to buy from you(just bought the wiring harness) for the D1 40watt Pro. The R2 adjustable mount and that plug in.
Is Paypal Credit different than just a regular paypal payment? As far as I can see I have all of the paypal options selected on my forms of payment accepted. Let me know and we can work it out, thanks!
I already bought the rest of the accessories thank you on it.
Can you tell me on this you go from putting the fume filter on, then in the next clip have a hose on it
I bought that hose too because you had the link, but you don't show how you venting that or what it's going into?
Stupid question but can t the 40w operate at the 10 and 20w or you have to have all the moduals?
Hi Damian, sorry I'm a little confused by your question. What do you mean by operate at the 10W and 20W ? Do you mean just add the 40W module to the 10W and 20W machine? Or?
@@EmbraceMaking can the 40w operate aa a 10 or 10w laser or are the Mods locked and you have to switch them out for different materials thickness?
You can just adjust the % of power down in the software. So for example 25% power on the 40W module would be like 100% power on the 10W module. Basically if you have the 40W module you can do anything the 10 or 20W can do and more
@@EmbraceMaking good. I dont feel like switching out mods just to do something that requires certain amounts of power
Nope you won't have to, although if for some reason you ever do want to mount the smaller lasers, they will physically fit onto the new carriage and gantry
I am a hobbiest and want to make gifts to my friends
