- Hilary weakened to a tropical storm as predicted, but the threat for catastrophic flooding and significant impacts to California and Nevada have not changed. Heavy rain is moving into the Southwest U.S. and will continue through the day, into Monday morning. #foxweather #weather #tropics

It hasn't even rained hard enough to wash the dirt off of my car.

Are you in southern Cali? It hasn’t come yet ding a ling
They've been predicting it'd downgrade to a tropical storm by landfall all along. The danger is the massive amount of rain it will dump on desert areas.
I live in high desert it’s just rain no wind
Go back 3 days and look at the radar forecast. It's not the same...I'm all for expecting the worse but they make money off fear and repeat views.
I live in Joshua Tree and we have just had some soaking rain so far....we did get sandbags due to the fact that our property floods easily....y'all stay safe.
I don't know about massive rainfall I'm in the middle of the storm and we are forecasted now to get 1-2 inches total in Julian, which is right on the ridge at 4000 feet before it drops down to Borrego springs desert.
And mountains
Sitting here in Los Angeles waiting for the World War 3 of weather. So far, some nice moist air and a bit of light rain.
*MOIST* teheee
It’s drizzling 🌧️ here in OC so you’ll see a little more rain shortly.
I heard just a few minutes ago from my daughter there. I'm glad all is good.
Yeah there making it bigger then it is.

I’ve never heard a group of people so disappointed that it’s not more catastrophic!
It’s like they’re disappointed that there aren’t deaths to report. Living in Florida most of my life real hurricanes sound and feel like a train is going over your house. This one is a Hype Train
Keep the fear coming…buy more toilet paper and groceries! Geesh
They've said since the beginning it was going to be a tropical storm. The worry is the rain in the desert. They're not used to Florida rain
@@Distress. I'd be concerned about the 40,000+ homeless in San Diego alone.
Yeah its just cloudy where I live...rained a little but meh
Let’s thank the Lord that it’s not bad because it would have and ppl were t prepared. I lived in Fl for a bit
political bigotry is a rave on both sides
The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Again!
Regular ass storm..go stock up on toilet paper
From what I saw on the news they over hyped this thing. It was going to category 3, then category 2, then category 1, now tropical storm. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about and you evacuated people, stressed people out because of their concerns for friends and relatives that live in that area. Wow.
We're in Texas.....I'm jealous of California. At least they're getting rain😮 We haven't seen any rain in over a month
Yours is supposed to be coming soon
I knew Hilary might rain a little but not blow. Need hurricane Monica for that.
😮😂😂
LMMFAO.
Don't underestimate the vengeance of Hillary, though.
Hahahaaha😂
Well played sir. Well played.
😂😂 Hillary is just a bunch of hot air
Over exaggerate everything weather is the goal
Is it just me, or do they seem disappointed?
YOU NAILED IT!
I had some friends working in San Bernardino Government offices a few years back, where there was a pair of “gunmen” who killed quite a few people. Same thing, and national and local media hyped it for most the day, took over all TV scheduled broadcasting (thinking it HAD to be “right wing conservatives”!!) which I’m really not, but in afternoon, the sheer disappointment and long faces of the media was jaw dropping, when they painfully had to announce “Tashfeen Malik and Syed Rizwan Farook” being the assailants.. (and they just DROPPED coverage on ALL networks, local and national that I was turned into..
I’ve NEVER looked at the media culture in the US and west, the same since.. (Sorry so long)
i mean they spent the past 4-5 days acting like a category 5 hurricane was actually going to make it up baja and hit california with their spaghetti models showing it making a beeline for los angeles. and of course as everyone told them would happen, the storm lost steam the moment it got to cold waters and is continuing to break up as it moves up. i would be embarrassed too.
Fail lol
WAKE UP.....our MSM is not your friend
TRUMP 2024
@@NHLblkgurl I remember that. I lived in one of the neighborhoods they supposedly drove through.
Many news outlets exaggerated the effects of this tropical storm causing panic buying of supplies in the LA area. Thank you Fox Weather for presenting factual news and keeping us informed.
That’s so ridiculous. I haven’t even been to the store. However I always keep supplies at home. It’s called being responsible. ❤

Great to see Brian doing the weather, he saw south Florida through many hurricanes . He definitely is someone who know what he is talking about and someone you can trust. Everyone stay safe 👊🏽👊🏽
Yes! His analysis have been great.
Don't know why all the channels say last big Tropical being 1939. In March 1938 was the massive So Cal storm.
By the time this thing Hits California it'll basically be a thunderstorm you'll be lucky to get 30 mile an hour winds if that the liberal media would love to tell you the sky is falling I would say for people that live in any area of floodplains they should take precautions if anybody's ever rode a hurricane out in Florida truly knows how bad hurricanes can be but this is nothing but a fart in the Wind
92596 = No wind and No rain. Just some sprinkles earlier. I feel sorry for all those folk the news media duped into panic buying food and supplies for this so called "storm"
Update: yes. It finally started raining but it isn't a torrential downpour by any means; just rain. No wind either.
My place survived two windstorms and numerous thunderstorms in the past 23 years this prefab has been home to me.
I lived in Wisconsin and North Dakota, survive tornados so a little rain is nothing to me.
I just hate how the news media sent people panic buying but I suppose it is better to error on the side of caution. . .
Update 11:05pm Well winds came, rain gone. Winds from south to north, not from the east as was predicted and they are no more stronger than the winds we get every afternoon.
I get to over warning for just in case, and yes the people in Maui should have received their warnings, which never came, but too completely different incidents so don't compare them as they are each tragedies in different forms.
@@cdz8239I’m sure the folks of Maui wished that little wind storm has been over hyped so they could have been prepared. Some folks are never satisfied. You over hype a storm and they are mad that nobody was harmed and nothing happened. The storm is under hyped then they are mad that folks were hurt 🤷♂️
@@justinhiner3146 A completely different situation.
@@the_quaint_gypsy no it’s not. It was a wind storm caused by a hurricane off shore that wasn’t hyped up and nobody prepared for 🤷♂️ interesting that you are disappointed that this storm wasn’t bad. We’re you hoping for landslides flooding and deaths.? In the future should weather stations not talk about hurricanes just let everyone fend for themselves? The fact is nobody can fully predict Mother Nature duh 🙄 in the future you should let everyone know even if a hurricane or tropical storm is coming no need to stock up on supplies or take any precautions it’s a waste of everyone’s time 🤷♂️

We live in Thousand Oaks, California, 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles. As of 10:30 a.m. today, Sunday, we have seen nothing but a few clouds. We were told to prepare for the worst, but we sort of knew intuitively that we probably weren't going to see much of anything. So far, Nevada has seen more rain. Monday morning update: We got a lot of rain, Sunday. Very, very unusual for August, but welcome, except in upslope areas prone to flash floods and mudslides.
They always over exaggerate . I never trust the news weather reports anymore.
I live in Las Vegas. Nothing but drizzles since yesterday

The sad but true part is that California, in their infinite wisdom, will run all this, very much needed water, straight to the ocean.
That's cuz this state is run by Dem. morons.
Yep that's true, if we don't have a water shortage they can't change $$ as much for water.
How do you propose to capture it? Dam building takes years and billions of dollars. And you have to have a geologically sound place to build it.

The crazy thing is they don’t learn and is seems they don’t care. Time and time again now and they scream at the top of their lungs and nothing ever happens! It would be entertaining if they weren’t so annoying lol 😂
they lost their climate change narrative.
True
"AN Inch or two of rain expected..." EVERY single news channel is starting with this exact phrase....creepy.
In Yosemite there are stories passed down from the Native Americans of the San Joaquin Valley valley turning in to an island Seaa which can be investigated by the River Bottom Soils there but what the natives speak of is the once in a generation storm that comes from the opposite direction where the natives take shelter in Yosemite Valley the storms are so bad. According to the legends the valley floods completely. I didn't understand the native legends until this event started happening. I only heard the legend when there was a government shutdown in Yosemite and there were private contractors running the services there.
Stay scared everyone!

State of emergency for California so they can get help during and after this hurricane/tropical storm. But they couldn’t do that for Hawaii? I’m from and live in New Mexico…explain that state and government

I live in SoCal. The rain started at 2 am on Sunday morning. A very not spectacular storm. The wind always blows here and this is the same wind. It's 8:30 am and the rain has stopped. I'm sure we will get more. I live right in that area that has the yellow spots. This is not new to SoCal. We have always had rain that caused landslides and flooding. Always the same problems with the same results. We are never ready for them. The homeless people that live in those flood areas and refused to leave when it floods and they get the warning. Then the brave firefighters have to risk their lives to save them. This has been going on for my entire life. I can remember 50 years ago this exact same thing happened with the same results and the same problems and it continues every few years. I'm not disappointed that it wasn't bad. I always prepare, just in case and it's always exactly the same.
I hope it's very mild for those who live there.
it got down graded from hurricane Hillary to tropical storm Chelsea lol
