Grims are common in the folkore of the British Isles too. So early settlers could have brought them (& others) to the American colonies. In fact, now I think about it, Vaesen set in the New World with creatures from the Old World would be cool.

Ps. Thanks for the in-depth review. These adventures look OK and now I'm leaning towards buying a copy. I'd definitely look to buying a Vaesen campaign with a decent boxed set.
