One error The BMW Isetta did have a reverse gear, and originally 4 wheels, the 2 rear ones only 9 inches apart. However for the UK market BMW wanted it to be classed as a tricycle which pays a much lower road tax than a car and can be driven on a motorcycle licence, which millions of Brits already had. To be a tricycle it had to weigh no more than 896 lbs. have only 3 wheels, and no reverse gear. The reverse gear was blocked with a pin in the gearbox, but it was easy to remove and make reverse operative. In 1963 that mod was made legal, probably because every owner did it anyway. Just unscrew a plug in the gearbox, pull out the pin, and replace the plug. I know this because I owned an Isetta in the 60s. The Heinkel got round the law by being able to start the engine up backwards, only possible with a 2-stroke engine.

Hello! I am actually working with MDI for the AirPod. Thank you so much for sharing and acknowledge our innovation! Nevertheless, there are some things that have to be clarified.
    1. The AirPod 1.0 is not from TATA Motors. As for how is mentioned, TATA Motors signed a contract with MDI, however, it was a territorial license of MDI compressed air technology where TATA is using in the known TATA Nano.
    2. The AirPod 1.0 that you are showing is the first version which is obsolete. We are about to launch the second version which is somehow different from the first version. I will keep you updated if you are interested.
For more information about MDI, our technology, the AirPod 2.0 and future projects, you can visit our website www.mdi.lu

We fought them in Germany in WW2. They were a fighter/ bomber. I started laughing. He said what's so funny? I said Daddy, its a car! He says really!? He hadn't seen one. It had 2 seats. One behind the other. And the roof was clear, shaped like a planes cockpit. You lifted the cockpit roof top get in. The was no way to lock it so i had to go with mom to the grocery store. People were staring at it asking all sorts crazy questions that I couldn't answer. My mom hated it. It was sold a short time later. I thought it was cute. But I didn't like being stared at. Plus it was hot in there. There was no way to cool it off while sitting inside.... No air conditioner.lol

There were two versions of the Messerschmidt - the more popular one had three wheels, but there was also a four-wheeled one. They looked the same except that the 4-wheeled one had the back two wheels under little bubble-like mudguards at the back. I believe it was faster as well, though I only ever saw one.

Live in Germany and ride regularly the Renault twizzy renting it quite cheaply. It runs around 85km/h and has a range of 80km, too. Quite minimalistic in its features it is a quick accelarator(it is fully electric) and due to missing glas or windows you might close, a perfect fun vehicle for good weather inside a city and for short tours. It is a fun ride and you have the watchers on your side. Just drove it last saturday for shopping and enjoyed it a lot, like always. Ouh and parking is quite easy and the back seat can take even a guy of 1,90m as I tried out once, cause he can stretch his legs to the left and the right of the driver in the front seat. Butterfly doors give it also some unique style when getting in and out. All in all it is a normal part of my reality, not like the rest in this video, that I will problably never see although I know the Isetta from seeing it some rare times since I live here. And I think you missed another german small one that I have still seen in the early 70s in my childhood. The Goggomobil... Greetings...

When you talk about the Isetta, please note that it was never produced in Argentina. It was only imported in 1958. In 1959, De Carlo got the license from BMW, but not for the Isetta but the BMW 600, which is NOT an Isetta, at least by BMW's official denomination. After the 600, De Carlo (Metalmecánica was the factory) also produced the BMW 700 under license.

This bubble car runs on a 236 cc split-single two-stroke
      08:36
motorcycle engine and could reach a top speed of 31 mph
      08:40
      in a whopping 30 seconds.
      08:41
      And its top speed?
      08:43
About 47 mph and up to 1,000 miles on a single tank.
So we have a top speed of 31 and then 47 mph.
And they insulted the Isle of Man about 8 times. Total shit.

I think any of these cars would be perfect, for "you drive it" guided tours in national parks. For that application, I would recommend models that can seat 2 or more tourists. They would basically be driven like fast, long range golf carts. Being fully enclosed, would offer some protection from the featured wild life.

It would seem like that would be an issue, but in older versions and modern versions there were various ways to deal with safety ...in the older versions one had actual steel usually protecting but always then and now the driver and or passenger is basically surrounded first and formost by a roll cage. They are created to absob and disperse an impact before it ever reaches the occupant(s)!!! And then last and least the vehicles tend to be light weight so they are generally pushed or thrown away from the majority of the impact before ever effecting the occupant(s)! There is also in some vehicles gyroscopes in addition so if a vehicle is struck it will be pushed, thrown away, but not fall or roll over as the gyroscope will keep the vehicle upright and on it wheels!!! Actually pretty safe vehicles all the way around!!!

And just a free word from a (very real, interested & ready) consumer, people want prices. & if one can be categorized as a personal mobility scooter... that's a VERY GOOD THING, cuz one not only needs not pay auto insurance, nor have a driver's license, but Medicare may pay a portion... or at least the tax:) You'd actually be surprised at some of the faster enclosed mobility scooters:) Perhaps do a video on that?

@Rodrigo and Ben Yes... well, you know, that is definitely a consideration when deciding what type of vehicle to buy --- I remember seeing an interesting gas-mileage comparison in a Shell Answer Book back in da early '80's... it pointed out that a medium-sized passenger-van actually gets the same "people-hauling" MPG as a mo-ped: the van gets ten miles per gallon but seats ten people, whereas the mo-ped gets a hundred miles per gallon but only transports one person, and so if all of the van's seats are full, both vehicles effectively use the same amount of gas to transport ten people.
