That puppy looked amazingly like a kitten.
I hate to be a wet blanket. I’m on the wrong side of 60 and just got what should be my last 2 kittens given my age and the up to 20 year life expectancy of cats. If I do outlive them, I will be adopting old cats from a shelter. I hope the grandchildren gifting the kittens to their grandparents offer the kittens a home when the time comes to say goodbye to their grandparent.

I lost both of my senior cats last year, just 6 months apart. I prayed that the cat distribution system would bless me with a new fur baby. One year later, little Moon Noodles is the best tiny baby that ever happened to me. This little orange Angel kitty has healed my heart♥️🐈
The little girl with the Siamese kitty made my heart melt and reminded me of my Siamese cat ziggy who passed away when I was little after he was accidently run over 🥺🥹

I’m very happy because this Christmas I begged for a cat but I didn’t get one, but I asked my dad if they thought of getting me one and he said no. But he said “me and your mom could see you getting one next year though”. I’m hoping my birthday is a miracle

My first kitten I got was when I moved into my first apartment. It was a calico cat. It had followed someone home and a staff at the time told me to call my mom. Of course at first she was like "No he can't have a cat" but after some convincing I had my first cat. Since then I've had two cats that I've owned. First one passed away 8 years ago

With all good intentions to make grandma/grandpa happy, the owner should outlife the animal if possible and not the other way around. Plus, as cute as they are, kitten and young cats can cause quite a bit of stress, especially for old people. For them a older, calmer cat would be a better choice.

Adopting a cat is essentially the same as shopping for one. The only way you're getting a cat for free is if it's a stray, in which case you end up paying a lot for vet bills.

But what if the person is not really ready to care for his new "present"? Having pets ist not just the moment when you first take them in your arms, it also means spending a lot of time and money! And this sometimes for more than 20 years. - It will be neglected or ends up in a shelter!
Don't treat pets like things! So don't just buy one and put them in a present box! Go to a shelter instead and get to know each other, so the pet too has a chance to find out of it wants to be your friend at all!
Everything else ist far too often irresponsible and not seldomly ruins while lifes. If you doubt it, ask at your shelter, they will have a lot of storys to tell you about it!
