- The bigger the dream, the greater the fight. Watch the new trailer for Damien Chazelle’s BABYLON starring Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and Diego Calva. In theatres everywhere December 23. #BabylonMovie
From Damien Chazelle, Babylon is an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart. A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.

In a movie with a cast featuring Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie, everyone is excited to see Tobey Maguire. Goes to show just how influential he was.
He's like a unicorn or the Yeti or that funny uncle who lives fifty miles away who swings by for Thanksgiving once a year. You only catch a glimpse of them once in a while, and every time you do, it's a special moment that must be savoured.
@@hasselett he's like the new Jeff Goldblum

@@hasselett analogy of the year ladies and gentlemen
He looks like he will be the weakest part of the movie lmao
Tobey Maguire finally ended his break from acting, he’s such a phenomenally expressive actor. So glad that he’s back.
I hope he is aware of the fact that he is deeply loved and missed by millions of people around the world and the studios also see this huge interest for him and will employ him more in projects of good quality.
Didn't you just commented the exact same thing in Babylon teaser ?
tobey : *"my back"*
Yupp, no way home was definitely his recent biggest break, might start seeing him transition into an A-list actor
He’s not phenomenal or expressive. Not sure what folks see in him.
This is actually one of the best films of the year . Don’t let the Rotten tomato scores deter you . A masterpiece. Pretty much excellence I’m every category

Rotten Tomatoes is unreliable, the critics are questionable. You shpuld see the audience ratings rather than the experts
Enjoyed it.
The cinematography and production design are top notch.
Margot robbie and Diego calva are excellent and have genuine chemistry between them, and deliver performances that are funny and entertaining as well as disturbing and heartbreaking.
The pairing of Chazelle and Hurwitz is just spectacular everytime. The sound design and score were immense.
I liked the movie even though it had some faults. The runtime was way too long.
I hate run time complaints. I wish all movies were 3 hours long or more. Makes me feel Im getting my monies worth
_And their dead bodies will lie on the street of _*_THE GREAT CITY_*_ which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified._ (Rev 11.8).
_The woman [Babylon per 17.5] whom you saw is _*_THE GREAT CITY_*_ which reigns over the kings of the earth._ (Rev 17.18)
_”And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth/land.”_ (Rev 18.24)
_”Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her!”_ (Mat 23.37)
_for your [Babylon’s] merchants were the great men of the earth, for all the nations were deceived by your “PHARMAKEIA”_ (Rev 18.23)
Christ warned people to flee at the end of the age who lived where? NYC? Rome? No, "JUDEA," when they see the abomination/idol of desolation (given life and able to speak - a.i.) set up in the holy place/temple (Matthew 24:14-15) which hasn't happened yet. He also warned those about fleeing in winter or on the SABBATH (Mat 24.20) which shows it will be strictly enforced under the reign of the false messiah.
_"Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues."_ (Rev 18:4)
Is it a coincidence in Revelation the harlot comes riding on a red beast in the wilderness (the Temple Institute in Jerusalem is preparing a red heifer sacrifice to bring back the temple ministry which in the Torah is prescribed to be sacrificed in the wilderness) and dressed in the colors and jewels describing the high priestly garment from Exodus 28.4-11?
A Jerusalem Post 2017 article lets the cat out of the bag revealing that Israel will be the capital of the nwo, titled “Israel and the unexpected new world order”
And Revelation doesn't say Babylon (Jerusalem) is a port city, that's a red herring suddenly being spread widely in an online campaign. It just says the smoke of it can be seen from the sea and that it has merchants ships -- which is just like in the time of Solomon (king of Jerusalem) who ruled over a trade bloc in the region and had fleets of merchant ships and was at one point even earning 666 talents of gold. The Jerusalem Post article from 2017 (see above) talks about a plan to do this again and even cites the kingdom of Solomon in comparison.
All nations (‘waters’ are nations/peoples as explained in Rev 17.15) will gather to where she sits in false worship as they did at the tower of Babel, but first a traumatic global crisis must be engineered to ‘bring the world together.’ My vid on the AC kingdom goes deeper.
Beware Babylon’s armies of false teachers, trolls and bots flooding the web with misdirections and diversions to NYC, Rome, Edom, etc, (or the old fave: attack the messenger with accusations of anti-Shem/Shemites) none of which are where our Lord was crucified or where the prophets were slain.

If you are hesitating to see this movie bc of the mixed reviews or the runtime or bc avatar is out, i IMPLORE you to go watch this movie. Seeing it in theatres was genuinely the greatest cinematic experience of my life. I've NEVER gone to see a movie a second time in theatres, but im on my 3rd viewing of this masterpiece.
Thanks! I was in doubt whether I should see this movie, but your comment tipped me over. What a masterpiece! There is so much to appreciate in this movie. And it was so intense. It will take an intense mind to appreciate it, I guess. Some people left the theatre, and that almost never happens. Their loss, for not seeing the genious cuts, brilliant jokes, and allround expression of many things dark and human. To me this was art. Many things that could have been political, were just about emotion. Emotions of lost and open minds, in a boundless melting pot called Hollywood. It praised film, but did not ignore the dark side of such minds. Not at all! It also did not judge or point a finger. It expressed. As art should. And that in typical Hollywood production value. A wonderful cinematic experience.
@@mysterion9686 I don't think I could relate to someone else's comment so much. This is exactly what I feel as well. It's the only movie I've actually went to see twice at the cinema and I enjoyed even more the second time. I think what makes Tobey for such a memorable actor is, like the silent movie stars of that area, he's an extremely expressive and caricature actor. True.
If I didn't know better I would have believed this was a Quentin Tarantino film - a bit crazy and surreal
I saw this film DESPITE the gaudy trailers and critics which both misrepresent it as some kind of celebration of hedonism and of "making it" in early Hollywood.
We've all seen that story before. It is not new, or original.
But that's not what "Babylon" is. "Babylon" is a cinematic masterpiece whose wild and brutal portrayal of the film industry is one rarely seen or allowed to be made, and one whose cinematography and performances deserve to be experienced in the theater or not at all.
"Babylon" is to L.A. what Martin Scorcese's "Casino" was to Las Vegas: a finely crafted and amazingly well-written and well-acted profile not only of its characters, but of a very specific time, place, and industry. In "Casino" that place and industry was Vegas and the heyday of mob influences on its casinos in the 1970s and 80s. In "Babylon" it's L.A. and the film industry in the late 1920s and early 1930s, and the rapidity and ruthlessness of its transition from the touch-and-go, fly-by-night anarchic nature of the silent film era, to "talkies" and the beginnings of the Hollywood studio system.
It's a history, a love story, a wild crazy adventure, and an exploration of the lengths to which love, talent, and ambition can drive people, but also how an industry's adaptation to changing social mores and audience tastes elevated, and then used and discarded the human beings operating within the film industry, and how the fraught relationship between actors, directors, producers, critics, and executives can reduce human relationships to the professional functions and industry purposes they serve.
These themes are similar to those of Michel Hazanavicius's "The Artist" of 2011 - also an amazing film, but Babylon explores far more diverse perspectives and storylines, and has a much broader scope, and a much greater ambition. It's not a celebration, but a critique of Hollywood: its racism, its classism, its dehumanization of people through shifting public mores and audience tastes, its toxic celebrity culture, and that culture's soulless worship of novelty and youth. It's a peek behind the curtain of the whitewashed and sanitized version Hollywood presents of itself, showing all the ways its success came at the expense of human dignity and human life. It skillfully and coherently rolls all these into one, without being muddled except when reflecting the anarchy of its subject-matter.
This film is one for the ages - as are the performances of its actors - not just Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie, but especially and in particular Diego Calva, Jovan Adepo, and Li Jun Li, along with Tobey Maguire and just about every major and minor cast member. Its' final scene was transcendent and reduced me to tears. I can count with one hand the number of times in my life any film has made me feel this way.
Sadly, this masterpiece of a film was one whose actors and producers were failed by their studio's marketing department. You have no sense from this trailer of what or who the film is about beyond a bunch of crazy parties and wild shots and set-pieces. It never answers the question of "What is unique about this film, and why is it worth seeing?"
I wish it had been marketed to audiences differently. If so, it may have fared better at the box office.
Like "Casino," it bombed in its opening box office weekend. Unlike "Casino," it may not show long enough for audiences to appreciate it.
It deserves to be seen in the theater, so see it before it goes. Hopefully it survives in theaters long enough for word of mouth to overcome the debacle of its poor marketing to audiences.
I'll end with a final word for its director Damien Chazelle: BRAVO!
I wholeheartedly agree, and thanks for writing this up. When i saw the movie, the theater was practically empty, which felt like a sad and ironic statement in itself that gave me an eerie feeling, almost as if the movie was telling me, "See? Told you so."
I read some of the reviews and, without trying to sound arrogant, those unfavorable inevitably demonstrated some level of misunderstanding about what this film was. Others seemed almost offended, clearly expecting an homage or love-letter to that era and industry, disgruntled at the tragic and sardonic takedown they witnessed instead.
I also agree with your point on the marketing. What a horrible trailer. A part of me almost wishes they had just taken that crazy "history of film/Manny's memories" montage from the last scene and used that as the trailer. That certainly would've piqued my interest and also guarded me against expecting the cookie cutter mediocrity this trailer implies
Toby, Margot, Brad all seems perfect 😍

Tobey Maguire: You’ll become a star when you fix this damn door!

Tobey Maguire looks like he's having so much fun in this lmao.
He looks like he is acting to me
I hope Margot Robbie wins an Oscar.
If she ever does, it won't be for this flop!
@@o.9428 Thats a bit harsh but true...I, Tonya was leagues closer, then Wolf of Wall and then maybe an Outback commercial where she lost some clothes and then this film. This is fun, but hey who knows?

@@o.9428 you haven't even watched it yet. Slow down mate
She'll get it for Barbie probably.
Absolutely unparalleled. Perfect performances all around. Seeing, Toby again was fuckin magical.
It was perfect I’m really mad that it got bad reviews.
@@taylorperkins581 I also read awful reviews of this masterpiece, and all of them were extraordinarily ignorant, and nonsensical. I agree with you absolutely, this being perfect.
Hollywood loves movies about Hollywood.
Damn, Margot Robbie and Samara Weaving worked together! Now I can see these doppelgangers together on screen and die happily 😩💓
Holy crap, I always thought they looked alike but watching this trailer, I literally thought Margot was playing two parts ROFL. I was confused until I saw your comment 😂
Don't see the resemblance honestly... different eye color and facial Structure... what looks the same to you?
It's good to see tobey back with suprisingly different character 🥰, i will definitely watch it cause i wanna se tobey
Just watched it yesterday and i friggen loved it. It felt like a love letter to cinema, we are privileged to live in the same era as Damien Chazelle.
Am watching this movie now, on a streaming site. Came here to comment after watching the part where a movie crew shoots a scene indoors, in extreme heat and without any AC, under bright studio lights that makes the situation worse. All this because of introduction of sound in cinema, and so sound needs to be captured live, as dubbing has not yet been introduced (correct me if I am wrong, for I am in the middle of watching the film, and am not sure about the dubbing part). Now every time the crew shoots the scene, some disturbance or the other crops up and ruins the shoot. Even the slightest sound of clicking heels or a ticking watch can, and does, ruin the shoot and forces the crew to take retake after retake, that too in searing heat, to the point where everyone just goes bonkers and starts cursing each other. It is a very intense scene in the movie, and goes on to show how difficult the conditions were for a movie crew shooting indoors during Hollywood's early years. Had this movie not shown this, I would never have known the actual and difficult conditions under which early talking pictures were shot.
Tobey maguire himself was the twist!
This movie looks great. Robbie And Pitt look like they're going to be oscar nominations. Love Damien and excited for this. Also glad to see Tobey making a comeback to Hollywood and hope they make Raimi's Spider Man 4.

@@thesecretofhumanity2994 May Allah saves us from these haram things, my brother. What's your name?
What? You think he is gonna do another Spider Man movie? Comic book fans are weird as fuck, man.
Brad Pitt trying to hide that he's Brad Pitt. He's in great shape, eh? Diego Calva is deadpan throughout most of the movie, but is a welcomed addition to Hollywood. Margot Robbie looks too modern for a 1920s actress, but she deserves an Oscar for her acting in this movie. A female director? in the 20s? People mention Tobey Maguire. Tobey Maguire was in the movie? Didn't notice. I had to fast forward towards the end because the movie never ended and just kept going on and on, and I was getting bored. Get to the point. The movie was all over the place. I did laugh out loud a few times. Okay, there's my critique.
Just watched it. The trailer doesn't make the film justice
Margot Robbie is giving a surreal and sensual performance. Amazing! Worth every accolade.
One of her boldest roles ever since Wolf of wall street.
No
Finally he's back again to put some dirt in our eyes..😍😍
How to waste 80 millions ?
Hollywood: Hold my beer
Their using David Bowie’s “Fame” as the soundtrack. That’s awsome .
Tobey Maguire is definitely the main antagonist
That's new for Maguire who is known for playing our main loved hero and bringing him back to life Spiderman.
@@mohamedfawzy5843 You have never seen Brothers.
So Once Upon a Time in Hollywood but in the 20's? AWW HELL YEAH.
This looks like the coked up version of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and I’m fucking there for it 😎
Most underrated movie 😢
😂😂😂 how long have you been a fan?
Just finished watching it and I really enjoyed it! I get why some may think its a mess, but its a beautiful mess - I can't believe I avoided watching it this long because of critics, thank you Stephen King for the recommendation :)
This is the most terrifying version of bully maguire Tobey has ever been
Ikr
I love how everyone is excited for Tobey and not Margot and Brad that really warms my heart
Probably cause tobey hasent had a part in a minute
@@Clwnanite yeah ik but still dog it's heart warming seeing everyone so hype over a role that probably won't have much screentime i love it
Apparently very few are excited for Tobey as the movie failed miserably at the box office on its initial release.
People are over Brad since he started wearing dresses.
Go away Bradley.
@@protorhinocerator142 Dude, WHAT? 😂😂😂
I couldnt think of anything worse a film about actors playing actors that started hollywood a century ago what a vein and self obsessed idea
Tobey killed this role!
Nice to see Tobey , hope to see you getting your deserved Spider Man 4 with Sam Raimi too
after watching the trailer i am confident of one thing Tobey can nail the role of Penguin🔥🔥🔥🔥
In my opinion he gave a great Joker vibe more than Jared Leto in this trailer alone.😂😂😂
@@exiagaming6048 tbh Heath Ledger has set the margin of Joker to a next level, so no matter whomever we see we want something much closer or better than the Heath Ledger version
I would love to see a Toby take on Robin Lord Taylor's penguin. Sheer brilliance, that would be.
@@RedheadedReaper indeed it would be 🫂
@@GameflixFusion doubt we get one better than Heath. Imo he is the king of all DCU/MCU movie character portrayals.
The marketing team did not love or understand this film as the creators and actors did.
It is done with envious passion and love, but there are barely any clips or good reviews of the film out there...
How many movies about making movies do we really need?
I know that we needed this one.
We need the movie about making a movie about making movies.
every movie now because its the most creative idea these shmucks could borrow
Babylon is gonna be the most insane movie ever!
It's Thursday now where's the trailer for Rise of the Beasts
This movie is a remake of the 2011 French film, The Artist. However, I have not come across any articles mentioning this, not even Wikipedia. I knew it the moment I read the storyline. The storyline is very similar to that of 'The Artist', but with a few changes. Chazelle doesn't seem to mention it either. Critics are praising him as if the story for this film is his original idea, as if he's some genius. No. Taking credit for an idea that is not originally yours, never mentioning the actual source you got it from is considered to be plagiarism. Chazelle needs to give credit to the original creator(s) of that storyline.
Man I wish more ppl went to go see this. It was such an experience.
I think its one of the most boring movies I have ever seen lol
Wow. I have no idea what this movie is going to be like, and that’s fantastic.
Yes we are excited that Tobey is back but don't forget the leads of the movie namely Margot Robbie and Diego Calva
Never heard about this movie until I read an article about it bombing at the box office. Studios need to get with the times and learn to better market their films
this movie will stay amazing for decades to come, will age like fine wine
I hope this does well. For Tobey ❤️
This will flop. Hard.
@@o.9428 I think it might not flop as hard as you think. Though it most likely won't be an instant hit either.
BTW, I hope this does well for Tobey, too.
@@o.9428 You nailed it. The movie flopped big time.
Tobey Maguire's psycho vibes are Amazing! Good to see him back
This movie will break records by having more views on its trailer than tickets sold 💀💀💀
The most great film in my life!!! -Super film!!!
I just click because of tobey maguire, Excited to see him.
😂😂we ALL did !
1:23 that laugh from Tobey Maguire , that’s hectic
Btw it’s like less than two minutes
What's less than two minutes?
@@doc8013 Definitely not the movie. And if Tobey's laugh was meant: it would be weird if that was longer than 2 minutes in this trailer.
Dear sir,
Thank you so much for making this movie. It was truly a masterpiece. I felt so sad and good in so many ways that I can't express. This movie had a soul. I shall always remember your art work. I place this movie in the league of The Great Beauty, Good Will Hunting, la la land, Cinema Paradisco etc.
I am so thankful to you that it gavr me a strong stimulus.
Thank you
Oh my god it was truly amazing!!! It’s the best film I’ve ever seen. Truly genius. At the end I was in tears and couldn’t stop crying. My hb was equally gobsmacked. We were stunned. We can’t believe it didn’t do well in America but then that says it all I suppose. It’s got to be seen in cinema because it’s like being Tango’d. Marvellous, funny, tragic. I fell in love with the characters that’s the key eh. I still feel for them now. It should have won tonnes of Oscars.
Bravo 🎉
Nice American hate
