- The BBC interviews Tanja Nijmeijer, a Dutch woman who is fighting for the Marxist FARC Rebels in Colombia and is part of the peace talks between the government and rebels in Cuba.
As a Colombian, I must say that I'm not agree at all with so many things that she said about the lost Colombia in other interviews. It seems like a FARC brainwash. Many Colombians know that the politicians here are the best thieves wearing a suit and tie; Although the Guerrilla in the early days they're were fighting for the Farmers, the equality and opportunities for the Lost Colombia that Tanja already told, but in the 80's near to 90's the Guerrilla has been changed a lot to nowadays, their way to earn money is with the drugs trafficking, selling guns, destroying lifes and Kidnapping, so this is not a correct way to find Peace, love and prosperity for everybody. I'm not favor to capitalism or Socialism, Just I know that FARC want a Colombian politic power, they want Socialism System like a Venezuelan System, the same system that had been destroying the Economy and freedom of my cousin country, I live just really near to the Venezuelan frontier and I see everyday how Venezuelan people struggle to find another opportunities in jobs, education, prosperity, freedom of eat what they want to eat, buy what they want to buy, they run from that Socialism System and they plan a new life in Colombia. It's sad for me to say that this pathetic war in Colombia seems like it will never end.
+L-eO Suarez Really interesting. I am doing research for school on guerrilla movements in South America. Since I am from the Netherlands I thought it would only be fitting to add Tanja Nijmeijer into the mix. How do you feel about someone that is from the other side of the world coming to your homeland Colombia and joining with an organization that has left a trail of blood throughout the history.

I mean if someone live in a first world country where education, life and health are pilars of its government why that person want to come here to fight a defend something that is not hers? I just think that she''s another victim of war, her brain was washed and if she really wants to defend and get back again "the Colombian lost" like she said, she must stop and quit that stupid idea of defend Colombia with bombs and murders, guns. People in the army, Guerrilla are from humble farms, they came from poor families, they are like brothers and they are killing each other. Is not the way of defend and find freedom, I say again is stupid.

It's so easy for this reporter to sit there, safe in the knowledge that she has a comfortable life back west. She's probably never had to fight to save her own life before, not really. Meanwhile, this woman sits across from her and chose to fight for her own life and the lives of the under served. Here is a sharp contrast in quality and character of women my comrades.

Sure she has no business doing this, especially for a different country. She somehow felt to get mixed up in this. but, I can tell she is actually an intelligent person. She knows how to tactfully avoid questions that she doesn't like.

This reporter was only interested in spreading her narrative. She missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a good interview.

Uw suggestie is onzin. Mw. kon via diverse kanalen ook in de jungle internetten. Mw. is een aas in de farc. Mw. heeft herhaaldelijk contact met mij gezocht en zoekt dit nog steeds. Puur voor propaganda doeleinden.
Wat u wel of niet geloofd is uw probleem, niet het mijne. Ik weet hoe Tanja cariere gemaakt heeft bij de FARC, hierin ben ik doodserieus. Ik ken haar uit haar studententijd. Toen gebruikte ze het vleselijke wapen al om haar doelen te bereiken.
Is dit serieus. Of is dit een grap. Ik geloof er niks van.

I have also a lot of respect for Tanja Nijmeijer! That doesn't mean that I condone every violent action FARC has been involved in. But Nijmeijer clearly believes in what she has done. And it's easy to condemn FARC from the safety of our homes. How many people and governments have supported the opposite faction without having to answer these probing questions? Shouldn't they ask themselves why they have supported powerful people who are even worse than FARC?
@@SuperRip7, can you elaborate why you never liked Nijmeijer? I am honestly curious. I really don't know much about her, and therefore I don't feel qualified to judge her. But she seems to be genuinely convinced that she has been doing the right thing.

well you know, just some politically correct, moralizing BS, that she probably don't even believe in herself, but that she has do to because of her position in British society. But she does really look dumb ass when she asked her, have you been involved in violence? Can you imagine interviewing like lets say a British soldiers in Afghanistan and then ask him , That question ? lol
