      It suggests a lack of ideas and vision to take joy in the misfortunes, mistakes and incompetence of an opponent rather than in the effectiveness, vision and competence of an alternative. It is also, on its own, a poor foundation for any alternative party to govern and risks blinding them to their own deficiencies. When Corbyn´s Labour gained seats in 2017, they perhaps failed to appreciate how much of that was down to the failings of the Tories rather than their own strength and were hammered in 2019 as a result. I am glad that Boris has resigned but I hope to see stronger ideas and vision from all parties including whoever the new PM will be.

      When Prime Minister Johnson took office, I think he had a great deal of support from the British people for his successful withdrawal from the EU. It's a shame that his aides now hit an avalanche and broke away, pushing them into a situation where they couldn't continue even if they wanted to continue as prime minister. I don't know if Brexit was the right answer now, and I didn't try to follow the rules I made, and I lost credibility because I overtly shouldered my relatives who had scandals. It may be your own business, but ... The resignation of a capable leader is a considerable pain to the free world as self-righteous hegemony destroys order, but I hope the next prime minister is the best person for Britain and the free world.😘💕🇬🇧💖💗

      Given that most people believed that 350 million number until _after_ the vote which was only advisory, why didn't the Cabinet just say "yeah, they voted, but people bought Johnson's BS so we're acting on our discretion to ignore it." This would destroy Cameroon's career, but if he was going to resign anyways, that's not really much of a sacrifice.

      @Bin Loony That is simply not true. We have around 10% inflation, and the monthly energy bill has more than doubled. And it is to be expected that hundreds of thousands of people will end up with financial problems.
      I just want to point out that the results of this madness is not clearly visible yet. As soon as the reserves from the people are diminished you will start to see the misery.
      I still prefer to live with the disadvantages from a democracy over the disadvantages from a dictatorial regime. Yet I do think that the rise of the energy costs due to the illegal Russian war is severely exaggerated and exploited by the oil industry and other industries. As if there is no oil coming from the Arabic countries or the gulf of Mexico and so on. And as if the entire world depends on oil that only comes from Russia.
      I mean, Russia is not the only source. So I am not buying it that the energy costs have to be this high. Bernie Sanders also pointed out that in previous years the oil prizes have been this high before, but that it didn't cause these high energy costs.
      What we see here, at least to my opinion, is a joint effort from the industrialists to compensate for the 15% tax that they have to pay from now on. And they are trying to stop the energy transition. And they are trying undermine the Biden administration.
      I can imagine a small rise in energy costs that would be around 1% or 2%. But now we have more than 50% increase in energy costs, and on top of that we have around 10% inflation.
      I am just not buying the story that all of this happens due to the illegal war in Russia or the financial policies from a single politician.

The UK national debt under Labour in the early 2000's, was steadily maintained at under half a billion, it did rise to 1billion after the global crash in 2008, but it has risen steadily under the successive Tory governments to two trillion now!!... Why do Tories always trot out these falsehoods about how 'Labour always borrow money and increase the national debt'?... and why don't Labour fight back against this inaccurate stereotype with figures and graphs showing the hard facts?...

    • @sarutochigcp937
      @sarutochigcp937 Před 2 lety +7

      I think what is most interesting is what Katy points out, spending is down. What has kind of become apparent is that if you invest in services, that's more people at the bottom able to spent money and fuel the economy. When you cut funding, you end up with people not spending their money in local businesses and the economy suffers. This means less tax revenue and more debt.

    • @AuramiteEX
      @AuramiteEX Před 2 lety +3

      The debt and the deficit are two different things. The reason why the debt rises is because the nation has a significant deficit that was started with Labour over-spending. The deficit was indeed being reduced over the last years, but Covid threw all that out. I think the entire world was gripped by hysteria and nations have printed so much cash that we'll be paying for it over the next 100 years.

    • @Katy-sh3ru
      @Katy-sh3ru Před 2 lety +2
