Literally my favorite 3D platformer of all time, quite possibly. A freakin' licensed game, no less! Yes, Battle for Bikini Bottom was just THAT good. It was SO funny and captured the heart and essence of SpongeBob so well! I just hope they do it justice with the remaster.

The movie game might as well have been an expansion pack with how identical it was, so I'm hoping that maybe they'll make it DLC for Rehydrated. A hopeful dream, yes, but it'd be cool. Also the only biggest problems with the movie game was the missions that felt like filler content, those can kiss my ass.

seth crouch not quite you guys THQ went out of business but a Scandinavian company called Nordic bought up all their IP and then renamed themselves THQ-Nordic.
A bit of the unused content (textures, models, dialogue) is actually just difficult to come by or at least acknowledge its in game. Some of the cut content with concept art made its way into the GBA edition. The remake has massive potential, just some of the levels and content won’t be recognizable because a lot of players probably never picked up the gameboy version.
Oh yeah, i remember i owned the GBA version a very long time ago (i don't have it anymore) and there were some things that definitely didn't appear on the console one, like for example, the robo Squidward boss.

I think I know what the anchor could've been used for. It could've been related to the anchor arms texture. So in the unused SpongeBob steelpants phase the anchor could've been used for spongebob to get the anchor arms.
that unused Robo Spongebob animation is actually a default animation used to test if the model is skinned to the bones correctly. i’ve done a lot of 3D animation and see that animation a ton.

One thing many people don't know is that the "temp" texture is actually used widely throughout the game, it's just invisible :) It was mainly used as the texture for invisible walls, OOB death planes, and low-poly shapes used to represent the collision of otherwise highly-detailed models. I've played the GBA version of BFBB and they have a Robot Squidward boss. He attacks by slamming his tentacles down to hit you when you're on the ground and shooting musical notes at you, and you defeat him by using Mystery to spit Temper bots at the head while using the tentacles as platforms.
The unused take of Mrs. Puff line ("Well, if it isn't Sandy Cheeks") sounds like Sandy caught her in the middle of a crime and is now about to brutally kill her

I hope the success of Rehydrated causes the developers to make a BFBB direct sequel game. The ending to the original implied that there was more robots to fight off.
As for new content I'd like to see in the remake, Bronze and Silver Spatulas. How do they work? Think of them like socks. There are many Bronze Spatulas in levels with a varying amount based on the size of the level. You can see how many you have with an icon next to the level collectable icon or where it would be if there isn't one. If you find them all, they combine (With a little animation that can be cancelled by pressing the jump button) into 4 Silver Spatulas, always. These all promptly fly away, the character you're playing as having a disappointed expression, and gameplay resumes. The Bronze Spatula icon turns into a Silver Spatula icon and you have to get them. There's one in each segment of a level, unless there's more or less than 4. These can be found in hard to reach areas or sock locations if you collected them. Get these, and they combine into an optional Golden Spatula. These are not required for 100% completion but getting all of these spatulas unlocks... something so it's not completely pointless. Probably Smelly Sundaes where Bronze Spatulas would be. I accept criticism.
This is just one cool idea. What if you could go into the kitchen and you could go to the grill and play a cool little serving game. Just a cool idea for the remake.

It is one of the best SpongBob games out there if not the best it's also a really good platformer in general, same can't be said for Lights Camera Sponge which was also made by Heavy Iron Studios and was probably going to be the sequel to BfBB but what I think happened is that THQ or Nickelodeon stepped in and told them to base it off of the SpongBob SquarePants movie so they had to restart everything and reuse stuff from the cancelled sequel therefore making it rushed and just bad.

Battle for Bikini Bottom is still one of the best games out there. Mostly it's Music, Graphics, and even Lip Syncing.
Every SpongeBob game from the PS2 is either ironically perfect or unironically perfect. No exceptions.
The whole game was voice acted! That's metal gear solid level awesomeness! Heck, the plot was almost as convoluted. XD
Only change that is ABSOLUTELY necessary is the addition of the TRUE Mr. Krabs VA in the remake.
