Talking purely about keepers. Both Stamkos goals should not have happened, for certain, and I think that Toronto bigwigs lost the plot on the second goal: that was an off the leg rebound that was textbook accidentally-on-purpose by the consummate pro and veteran, the wiser than wise Stamer.
Losing 4 in a row wasn’t Shesty’s fault. Surely, a few he’d like to take back, but having said that much, he didn’t fail anyone: it was the Top Two Lines that failed to do Diddley-squat when it mattered most. Shesty’s the reason why the Blueshirts were two games shy of the Stanley Cup. No shame in that at all.

Tampa is the modern model of a team that can consistently compete for the cup. Their best players took LESS when Stamkos and Hedman took smaller dealers and left space for the team to keep more talented players and I LOVE the way the trades away their pics for actual rosters players to keep getting talented players with term instead of drafting kids who may never make it to the NHL.

Trouba cost them game 3 when they were up 2-0 in that game and in turn cost them the series. They had the Lightning down, but gave them life again and TB never looked back. I would say that the Rangers have a bright future and that they will be back, but we don't really know if that will be the case. Many times teams don't live up to their potential and don't get back to this point again. I am disappointed at the way the Rangers lost this series. This team is sloppy, and as it stands now, they will never win a Stanley Cup until they sharpen their skills. Igor can't win a cup by himself.
