I had this original for the C64. I don't remember it being particularly good to play, while graphics and sounds not to mention the intro screens were very good. I should probably give it an other shot now.
TOTAL RECALL is definitely the best Schwarzenegger movie, i have ever seen 😺👍. I still have it on VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray 😺👍. Now, i want to look for the computer game for my Commodore 64 and Amiga 😹👍🕹️.
I always found the CPC graphic in this one blocky, and with only two frames, quaid seems to run like a toon. But the game remains nice to play. Spectrum version is better animated and scrolling is faster. C64 version offers impressive GFX, despite the usual dull colours. Animation is impressive too. NES is clearly just a joke 😆 On the 16 bit side, the absence of a Megadrive version is surprising but it is true that the game was released before it arrived in the West, there was no desire to come up with a version so late after the film's release. Graphic on Amiga/ST are well detailed and sprite animation is smooth, thanks to the fabulous work of Mark K. Jones that already worked on numerous famous 8 and 16 bit games (Rubicon, Stormlord, Cybernoid series...). Jogging horizontal scrolling on ST is less enjoyable than continuous scrolling on the Amiga, but still fun to play. Good versions overall even if the game itself is quite classic and without surprises, even sometimes frustratingly difficult.
it isn’t a surprise for me if the Total Recall Amiga or Atari ST version didn’t sell or wasn’t popular the absence of a 16-bit Total Recall Mega-Drive, SNES, TurboGrafx version

Dunno I can't say it's my favourite Schwarzenegger's movie but I'm sure it's way better than the 2012 remake🤮
Exactly, that's completely unworthy 🤮🤮🤢

My old school friend had TOTAL RECALL on his 8-bit Nintendo, and it was clearly just a joke 😹🕹️.

other options 32X, Atari Lynx, Mega CD
It's like watching the movie ;-)
c64 version looks impressive :)
Speccy takes the cake, edges out CPC by a hair.
Yes, faster and better animation on Speccy.
graphically (visually) Amstrad edges out ZX Spectrum
I have the C64 version. Terrible game. Music was impressive though :)
i think the st did a good job here?
if the audio, graphics, music, sound, visuals could’ve been done better no
