Helen the type to say “I never thought I would get into Harvard” yet be getting straight A’s on all her exams 😂😅
I get what you mean but to be fair, it takes a lot more than straight A's to get into an Ivy League (as well as you could probably make it without straight As). They want extracurriculars and compelling statements and probably other things too.
Source: I got straight A's in HS and was no where close to making into any of the Ivy Leagues I applied to and its likely bc I did nothing outside of school lol.
@@jin394 haha I get you, my point was referring to those kids in school that would think they failed the test and say they did so bad but in reality they studied hecka hard and put in the work lol

I'm happy that Jubilee heard us about reducing the money as the number of contestants lowers. They know how to take criticism!
Yeah, but apparently they weren’t smart about it bc the ivy kids did the math and figured out they could go one extra round without losing money
@@FinancialClout That's not even true. Let's assume the cash prize total is $1000. There was 5 people left when they implemented the rule, so 1000 divided by 5 is $200 per person. After being wrong, there cash prize is reduced to $500. Divided between 4 people now, that is $125, which is obviously less than $200 a person. So the extra round did cause them to lose money, but it just wasn't a direct 50% loss on their part, but rather works out to be about 38% loss.
@@lewisliu3618 did they say the prize money is cut in half? If they just were to reduce it by $200 then it doesn’t make sense to end the game
Sometimes. But they'll probably have neo-nazis on the next episode to "balance out opinions" in some Middle Ground.
@@FinancialClout It was said at least twice that half is taken.

can you guys do like 6 native speakers vs like a person who learned the language later in life🤔
@Nonaya Bidness it'd be fun to see though :))
@Nonaya Bidness Nah but they don’t have to have American accents. They could have New Zealanders, South Africans, Canadians, British/Irish, Nigerians, Indians, US Americans, etc.
I thought about that exactly !!
This would be so fun to see 😂
It is possible though to speak another language basically accent free and a lot of people who are actually native English speakers have an accent for example people whose families come from another country often have an accent or of you are originally American but moved away at a very young age etc
As a canadian, university culture and especially ivy league culture is one of the best examples of a unique aspect of american culture. I find it fascinating.
yeah, i'm Canadian too and i agree. I think we're a lot less competitive about the specific uni you go to. I also find it interesting how americans call university "college" ... at first i was confused and i thought all americans went to college and rarely went to university, but then I realized they just use a different word for university than we do lol.
It just gives elitist vibes to me
As an American it’s so weird hearing how analyzed we are because I know nothing about colleges in Canada but I love Canadians most of you guys are always so accepting for the most part positive mood.
@@olivia251 WHAT IS AMERICAN WORD FOR UNIVERSITY
@@cam0987 Americans call university "college" for some reason, whereas in Canada college and university are two distinct types of post-secondary institutions. Colleges grant diplomas and are typically two years in length, whereas universities grant degrees and an undergraduate degree is 4 years in length. You can only go to med school, law school, get a phd, etc if you go to university, and not college. Hope that helps explain the difference.
Would've liked to see a group question about if going to an Ivy League school was worth it/better education than going somewhere else.

I feel like the money rule should come in when there is 4 participants left. Little early when there are 5 left.
What I've noticed from watching probably every one of odd one out is that it's rarely ever the conversation starter or the person who came prepared and asks a lot of questions, but they always get suspicious of them. When the mole stays in until the reveal, I usually have the same reaction, I almost forgot about them, because I was too focused on the others being suspicious of others. They blend in well and keep up the conversation, but they're almost never the main characters in the episode.
The first girl didn’t even get a chance to talk
She was the mole so
@@Simbli yeah but like it was kind of a boring round - she didn’t even get to talk and they voted her out first round
@TheMrCaptainStfu usually moles are more well prepared than that
Of course the smart people voted out the right person in the first round 😂
Right? And yet a few comments stated that these people might just be book smart but do not have critical thinking. It is always those who dont do well academically who will think like this.
@@cesarebachelli There are a lot of sorority students that are just book smart though and regarding getting the mole out in the first round she didn't really speak so it was the easiest pick and considering Kylie said her psychic instinct was telling her to vote and was also saying that someone could have just looked it up or took a tour whenever they mentioned a fact about their university she'd be one I consider book smart
@@innovation_s6079 nah cannot relate. The smart people I went to college or uni to werent just book smart. They weren't cocooned in their homes or dorms. The high achievers were also those who participated in volunteering projects including repairing homes. They even got jobs during holidays. They were active in organizing college or uni events.
It was those with poor academic achievements who tended to not do anything outside their comfort zones. More likely to have low self esteem with poor social skills. These are the angry ones who cannot seem to do anything cos they just do not have the confidence to try out new things. So, they like to label high achievers as "just book smart"
@@cesarebachelli This has been my experience as well. Most of my college peers who are off doing especially incredible things were the ones who just kicked ass across the board. The younger undergrad who was my research assistant when I was in college has since gone on to thrive in his first 1.5 years as a PhD student in maths at one of the top programs in the world. He had a 4.0, despite that being ludicrously hard to pull off where we studied, yet he's also one of the nicest and friendliest people I've ever known. Same story when it comes to my classmates in med school. There are occasional assholes who snuck through admissions, but at least 3/4 are both incredibly well-rounded and genuinely motivated by compassion. Certainly there are different sorts of intelligence. However, the people who rush to assume anyone academically successful must be handicapped outside the classroom is either deluding themselves or has never gotten to know many exceptionally high-achieving folks.
@@cesarebachelli your academics don't necessarily say about your personality. higher grades don't always equal higher esteem, although it can play a role in it.
So so so thankful I got to be a part of this video!! Thank you Jubilee for having me on set! ❤️✌️

Affirmative action
@@ifyouwantoreplyjustclickth5063 to degrade their academic success based on their race is racist and kind of ironic considering race based scholarships make up less than 2% of all scholarships. what really helps white america get into colleges is their wealth that makes them go to better schools funded by high property tax that provide better extracurriculars, tutors, SAT Preps ect.
@@ifyouwantoreplyjustclickth5063 but yet you have no problem with white people getting in through donations by their rich parents
@@bk-vt1ch yup. White kids mainly get in because their parents put a financial bribe, not because they're smart.
@@ifyouwantoreplyjustclickth5063 you realize at most ivies the black population is around 5-10% so literally what does affirmative action have to do with anything when there are literally few black people

Synopsis. Ivy League schools are comprised of high achieving students that can be three times more anxious and depressed than the average pupil. ... The academic and social design of Ivy Leagues perpetuates stress culture that aggravates underlying mental illnesses. 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Honestly I'd say the same about the design of higher education altogether, but Ivy League is definitely worst in this regard.
@@armstrong.r You are actually very correct! I research physics education and a lot of the problems we look at it is how STEM majors and other college degrees have a negative culture around them that promotes being in a mentally unhealthy state (for example a lot of jokes about "suffering together" and such) its very interesting stuff but my thesis is on how the newer generation is trying to better the education that they came from because they do not want to create the educational environment that they had to deal with.
This is an unfortunately true generalization, but it shouldn’t be used to scare people away from these programs. Sure, the stress is intense but let’s remember that the people at Ivy Leagues tend to be more academic driven and hold higher standards in the first place. It’s completely possible to be at an Ivy and succeed academically while not giving in to the stress culture. It’s all about who you surround yourself with.
Blessings is super cute lol

Some claim that the mole always keeps their mouth shut. That isn't a rule. People are not all chatty in the same way, and different personalities have different exteriors. That's why they also assumed it was Austin, who has similar exteriors, but they were wrong. It seemed they were going for quieter, slower-spoken people, but that's a so primitive strategy. This time it worked, and that's it. You can't judge someone if you don't say much. The most logical way to organise this was to by making the mole a super-smart guy/girl who is chatty, and have them identify him/her by places where he/she contradicts himself/herself. Mehak's assessment on why she has got eliminated was partly correct. She was overshadowed by the other girl; if she wasn't and she practiced a little bit, they'd never catch her.
kylie was obviously *pissed* at the end hahahaha poor her
