  • This video is a review of my new SawHaul Kubota MX5400 tractor mount. This tractor mount allows you to carry a chainsaw on the side of the loader, very convenient if you go into the woods by yourself.
This is not a compensated review, I paid for the SawHaul. This is just my impressions to help guide others who are looking for a chainsaw mount for their tractor or UTV.

Mine came with some extra nuts, washers, and bolts, but without any instructions. There was a diagram on the side of the box that was adequate to figure out the install, but it would have been nice to be aware that extra hardware wouldn't necessarily be needed. No more trying to keep my saw between my feet!

The holes in the top are for a chain saw file and saw wrench.

Hi Ed! I’ve seen these before and first I’ve seen installed. I would agree that the wobbliness might drive you nuts, but I think it would be an easy fix for your sanity. Very nice and easy access to the saw when you need it. Thanks for showing and sharing! WST

Hey Mike, I'll figure something out for the rattling noise, otherwise, I may use the chainsaw to cut the scabbard off the tractor ;-) Thanks for watching! Stay safe!! Ed

Thanks for the vid showing installation. I looked into that style about a year ago, decided to go with the welded metal frame Carry-all made by Tarter..... other farm implement manufacturers make them as well. Your well read in this stuff so im sure you're aware of all this. Decided to go with the Carry-all because my routine and chore tasks hinge on landscape, foot plots, trail maintenance.... like a lot of folks a day of chores requires more than one tool.... as you know.
I haven't tried to load it up with anything heavy..... they only have a weight capacity of 1000 lbs. which includes the weight of the box i built on it..... obviously the finished piece has less than 1000 lbs. load capacity. Which is why some folks dont like the Carry-all.... anyway it works well for me and I'm very happy with it. I appreciate the content of your vids I'm sure they are helping folks, some vids have helped me. As always thanks for the vid.

Thanks Jules! I have seen the Carry-All and they look very nicely built and functional. I haven't pulled the trigger on those types of attachments just yet because it seems like I am always doing many different types of chores each day, each requiring a different attachment. Maybe I need to schedule my time better so I'm not switching out attachments so often. ;-)
Next spring I plan on keeping the backhoe on the tractor for many weeks to get all of my backhoe work done. That beast is a little more difficult to take on and off, but we will see.
Have you had good success with the Carry-all? How do you use it? Best, Ed

@@UpNorthNybergs hello Ed. A picture is worth a thousand words.... I can't include one in this response and im not on Facebook to send you one there. List of tools on my Carry-all: flat shovel, digging shovel, leaf rake, gas powered hand blower, gas gas, chainsaw, bag/bucket of fertilizer, weed whip, stick edger, various hand tools: hammer, channel locks, pliers, small spool of wire, hand pruners, loppers, small folding hand saw, able to strap down a 8 foot A frame ladder (weed whip must be off for this) Also can transport my small generator around the property..... probably some other things I'm forgetting about. I would give it a thumbs 👍 for my chore list and projects. For sure its a light duty hauler when compared to the lift capacity of the 3 point. Oh... i put 4 castner wheels on the bottom of it for easy on/off of the 3 point hitch, concrete barn floor helps with that and can easily move it into its stored place in the barn when not in use. Hope this helps, thanks for the vids.

Excellent! That is quite a few different tools that you are able to carry. Almost sounds like the "The Big Tool Rack" that I've seen advertised. I like the addition of the caster wheels to easily move and store in the garage or shop. I use a small trailer that I connect to my UTV, not very organized though. Thanks for sharing what you use it for, helps for sure! Best, Ed

I like mine. I need to cut off or cap the ends of the U clamp. As an old klutz, it is easy to cut myself.

Hi Ed, I tried to buy one of those last Summer for my little tractor and they were perpetually out of stock! Nice to see they mount onto the Kubotas okay… I’m putting this back on my wish list! Thanks for the video. Jason

Hey Jason, thanks for the comment! I think they have them in stock, it took only a couple of days to get mine delivered. Their customer service was great, they sent me a blue scabbard by mistake and quickly rushed me the correct color. Stay safe out there, Ed

Thanks for the video and explanation. I believe the slight freeplay between the scabbard and the FEL is part of design, to cut down vibration on the saw while traveling over rough ground. Have you found that to be an agrevating distraction? Also, did you use their "standard" U bolt for your FEL or did you need the "larger" size? YourThank you

Oh, good point about the vibration. I did use the U-bolt that was supplied; it worked great for my tractor, MX5400. I drove to my neighbor's house down the street a couple of days ago and never heard a sound from the chainsaw mount.
