- You're Gonna Love This!! Tool Mashup - 15 SONGS IN ONE!!! A Mashup of Adam Jones Clean Riffs!!
I have put together 15 Tool songs and made it into one BIG song! It took a lot of time and process to come up with this and I am very happy with the final result! First I started thinking about all the cool Clean sections played by Adam Jones. When I am playing some parts, my brain starts to connect that to a completely different part in another song. I followed this thought and gradually assembled together what is now a MASHUP of 15 different Tool Songs!
What I like the most in this is how each song connects nicely to the next one and it's not random! This is a completely thought out video and I had such a blast with it! If you are a Tool fan, you will definitely, definitely enjoy this!!!
I just love everything that Adam Jones does! This video only explored the clean (without distortion) melodies that he created and I can't wait to explore everything else even more!
(This 15 songs can even be counted as a 16 because the last song is actually a merge of 2 in 1.)

I have to say, as much as I am grateful to Adam Jones for supporting me, I am equally very grateful and thankful for people like you who support me, feel proud of me and looking forward to my journey too! This has taught me a lot and thank you for your well wishes! No, I haven't been to Tool concert yet and I have heard so many great things about it. My parents said they will take me to US next year and hopefully Tool has some concert days that time so I can get this amazing opportunity to see them live!! My eyes will be stuck on Adam Jones the whole time seeing how he plays on stage!! Before this, I was working on Top 10 clean intros of Tool (you can find the video in my channel here). That time itself I was analysing a lot of songs since I wanted to rank them from 10 to 1. That time I starting seeing connections in some songs and I used to play around with them at home to warm up. Now that I got a special guitar sent by Adam Jones himself (which is still unbelievable for me), I thought lets try a mashup. And that's how it started. It look me many weeks to connect them, play them, edit them, replay them, practice them and finally record them. Was worth it because I can never get bored of Tool!!!! ❤

Thank you!! You are absolutely right. The time signatures and rhythms vary a lot. First I thought I will also learn to program a drum track for this too but it was too hard since it keeps changing too much. In the end, I like it plain like this so the guitar can shine through by itself! 😀😁

I love playing and learning Tool riffs, but it never sounds quite like Adam’s tone or style. The custom Les Paul he uses just has such a unique sound to it. It sounds so close to Adam’s using his Les Paul!
You are right!! Adam Jones is an amazing artist! He analysis everything so intricately and beautifully crafted such a beautiful sound! It's the complete combo of it! It is the guitar, pedals, amps and the whole lot, he knows exactly how to use them, that too very creatively! That's why he's such an inspiration for me!!! ❤️

I was 7/8 yrs old that time and I did not know Tool at all, I heard this song and it was so beautiful! Later on I found out it was called Pneuma by Tool! And that day changed everything for me! I wanted to learn to play that song on guitar and before I know it, I was always playing Tool songs at home for several months together without even moving to another band. That's how much I was addicted to Tool. So yeah, it changed everything for me! Wings for Marie is a beautiful song and I can imagine how emotional it can be with that song. When I was doing this list I really wanted to have Wings for Marie in the list but it was hard at first since the tone changed suddenly and didn't merge with anything at that point. As I kept working on the list, it found it's own beautiful spot in the end and I really liked it. I always find that when I work on Tool songs, it has a mind of its own. I don't even know what is going to my next song or what I am going to be learning next. The songs just finds me at the right time and I just go with the journey! That was an excellent arrangement and performance. You know, you've shown the work of that which you admire, too? On the Tool album "Aenima", there is a track called "Useful Idiot". This track is a muffled, reversed, looped recording that builds up to a crescendo, all in only a few seconds. But, it ties together the two songs it sits between - "H." and "46 and 2" - better than had they been connected directly. It is a "useful idiot" in that it simply connects the two tracks in a pleasing manner. All of this is to say that the art of transitioning between riffs and structure is a marriage of talent, skill, and dedication, and you've shown you have all three! Very well done!

@@MayaNeelakantan Here's something to give you a reference to the depth that Tool tends to stay at. "The Pot" is probably the most popular Tool song. It is about being a hypocrite, but, let's analyze it deeper. Maynard, in this modern age where we can cross communicate with everyone, was called out by Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame for "stealing" the pseudo-spiritual band element they had in the 70s. This, however, is bold to claim from a man who has been sued multiple times for having taken riffs and songs from other performers and claimed them as his own. Namely, even, ripping off the Blues sound from the relatively unknown artist Muddy Waters. "Cozened indigo" means "stolen blues", like how the black Blues community labeled Mic Jagger and David Bowie "plastic soul". So, who is Jimmy Page then to look at another band and accuse them of stealing from him when he made his career off of stealing from those lesser known artists? The pot calls the kettle black. Jimmy Page said his ideas came to him from drug use, but that was a lie, as he picked up songs from his opening acts and reformatted them for Led Zeppelin. Lemon juice references one of the songs written by Led Zeppelin, which has weak appeal on its own, because they only could spot talent and imitate it, not create their own. "Kangaroo court" is when the verdict has been decided before the trial began, knowing the outcome no matter the evidence. For Jimmy Page to make a call out like that, he must have known what he was hiding in guilt. As a final way of showing off, Tool used a trick from Led Zeppelin in the very song calling out Jimmy Page; the second line of vocals echos in before it is spoken, having been reversed and echoed previously. This is a trick Led Zeppelin used on "When The Levee Breaks", a song stolen from Muddy Waters, where the guitar parts were recorded, played in reverse with delay, and applied back in its proper place with the delay leading into the true notes. That is the story that gives "The Pot" depth. And that's just one Tool song.

Thank you!! I actually did not use any effects pedal on this (except maybe reverb). I just balance the eq settings a bit till I found the sound I like and all the sound is purely from the guitar. I also noticed a lot of sound comes from the way Adam Jones plays it and I have been learning to do some of his techniques, especially with my right hand, and it seems to work. I'm glad you noticed the sound. 😃

Yeah he does have a tiny bit of gain but I still consider those as clean melodies because the gain is pretty much fully got down and increased only in the later part of the song. However I have also heard Adam Jones use fully clean too, for example 7emoest intro. I listened very closely to that one and I don't think there is even a slight bit of gain in that one like other songs. 😁
