@@oftheculture4892 That was only in the Ocean dub. In the uncut and Japanese original, Goku actually realizes he killed Grandpa Gohan. Why Saban Entertainment made that change, I would never know.

In response to your remark at 2:03, Vegeta’s father actually named this planet after himself when they terminated all the life forms here. The Saiyan originally came from a planet called Sadala, but it was destroyed in a Civil War.

A group called ScrewAttack did a Goku vs Superman. 2 fights actually. They had done Goku's stats terribly. They determined lifting strength as striking power which couldn't be farther from the truth.
1. His dad's name was Bardock. Leader of Bardock's Elite and creator of the Blutz Wave Power Ball. Which is ironically used by Vegeta during his fight against Goku to turn into an Oozaru.
His adoptive "grandpa" was Son Gohan. He was an expert martial artist and one of the first known students of Master Roshi.

That scene was from Kai. I recommend watching the Uncut version. Voice acting is supreme, all the frames are restored to high quality, and it has more adult dialogue than the original.
It's really great that you're watching these. They'll bring you up to speed on main points of DB without the need to watch all the episodes. This first part talked about events in TV special "Bardock, the father of Goku" and the original DB anime (one without Z, it had 153 episodes, so you know there's much more than what was talked about in the video).
They forget to mention the fact that goku/kakarot was a very agresive kid and always attended everyone around him until his "granpa" exedentely dropped him into a ravine on his head.

I think it's the other way around, because through the episode of Bardock movie he's transported to a time when things were very different and he sees a sort of genesis of the saiyans and leans the past planet's name as planet plant (not sure if it's true canon)

I don't know how many people think has occurred to. But since both superman and kakarot where sent to earth, both their planets got destroyed. Both became protectors of earth. Both formed a team to fight evil. Maybe planet Vegeta and planet Krypton are one-and-the-same.

When a Saiyan is born they're sent to a planet in hopes of growing up and eventually taking it over. Goku had a low power level which is why they sent him to earth (luckily right before it blew up). He also hit his head as a child which is why he didn't turn out evil like the rest of the Saiyans.

this contradicts the original burdock special. the point of goku's saiyan heritage is that he is not supposed to be special. just some low level soldier. but through his training, he ascends to beyond the strength of the elites which would not be expected of him from birth.
you should also watch goky vs chichi full fight. it was a good fight at the end of dragon Ball.
You should check out the Goku vs Piccolo world martial arts tournament fight. Last big fight of the original dragonball if I remember right.
You should react to the characters' voices from different dubs. You'd be surprised with certain characters' (Freeza's) voice actors.

This, therefore, creates an inconsistency that they had decided to stick with for the second fight. Also, they had decided not to wait until Goku's power had hit its absolute peak to perform both battles and therefore didn't have enough information to properly decide it. In other words, their stats are bullshit and their patience is terrible.
