In zero buidl the combat medaillion with a gold sniper is 2 body shots to kill so worth the hussle

As someone whos won and lost a ton of fights while either player in the fight remain with 1 hp, that extra 1 damage is actually kinda useful

the extra damage is useful but geting your location shown can be horrible especially if your more likely to be in the storm due to having the item

There's a few situations where this medallion becomes a lot stronger than one may think. A purple hammer pump does 99, but this medallion increases it to 103, effectively a rarity increase (and dealing over 100 a shot with a shotgun.) With a Gold Hammer, this allows you to basically 200 pump, and if you somehow manage to get Cerberus' Shotgun with this, you have a Gatekeeper Shotgun that does 102 body shot, effectively 2 shotting people without even needing to aim for the head.

every time i get the ares medall i get the hammer pump, but using the hammer pump is alot harder since its very hard to get consistent damage without aiming with the hammer

One of my games, I was during quests, I grabs that Medallion and because why not grabs Zeus's, and won the game. For some reason you do better if you were doing quest instead focusing on winning.
Yup, I actually landed here once for the quest and got the medallion, then the guy who killed Zeus came to me and got bodied, and then somehow I ended up coming across Cerberus’s medallion, not the weapon though, which was strange, and that was when I discovered that when I don’t focus on winning I end up with insane skill and luck

Important thing about dmg numbers are break points if you deal 25 dmg a shot and someone has 100hp buffing that to 27 you're still gonna have to shoot them 4 times. So until it breaks that break point not really worth either
Warforged AR is my favorite mythic but the medallion is disappointing. I still take it in normal pub games tho

Something else is that the place to fight the boss is surrounded by cover, so there's a high probability you'll get shot in the back.
i have not dropped brawlers once this whole season
i always forget to fight ares when i go bc i know its not worth it but one thing it does do is instead of like 110 ish damage on a sniper shot, it does 122 so that may be useful
It's definitely worth fighting Ares because of the mythic and yeah it's in the corner of the map but you can then go kill Zeus to get his medallion and you can get out of storm super quickly, there also dirt bikes there
Its +5 damage. A gold sniper normally hits for 121, with the medallion it'll hit for 126
What people dont get is that 1 damage is essentially going up a rarity, so using the medallion with a mythic weapon would put the weapon to a rarity higher than mythic which sounds alot better then 1 extra damage.

If you get the mythic shotty or even a goldie and you get this medallion you can double tap people with 2 body shots.. I think that’s pretty op considering shotgun meta rn
Being able to see where people are before they see me is how I get most of my kills, being able to sneak up on people is a major advantage that I don't think can be outweighed by medallion benefits.
It is rough that you are definitely getting held by olympus droppers and then the people who drop at the several spots between there and mid map.
I love landing at the edge of the map what are you talking about, I need a chance to gear up and get ready to go, I don't understand people who jump in the middle of a map and fight their way out. That seems like a recipe for death
A even better thing is that you can kill Zeus easily with the mythic war forged, so you can take his medallion and easily rotate to zone. There are also a lot of dirt bikes in that area to rotate
@@soundwavesuperiorconstruct4627 well I wouldn't say he's easy to kill, but you got to get there and make sure your geared up, you're not going to take them out without Shields and you still have to worry about other players.
@@jacquestuber628 by the time I get there after fighting Ares people are already killed and the only ones alive are either fighting Zeus or looting and healing after fighting him so you can easily kill them while they do that. Any ways most of the time there are only bots there.

@@jacquestuber628 if your talking about Zeus mythic I understand because most of the time I drop it because I don't like carrying 2 of the same weapons or weapons that use the same ammo, I like to save my ammo for my ar not the dmr.

an increase in damage is an increase in damage, I’ll take it any day when a 1 hp difference can mean a win
1 hp can definitely make the difference. So can the entire lobby knowing where you are

I think that something to balance the medallion is to make it conditional, the percentages doubling or more when the respective medallion is used.
Also if you are in storm you get no movement or heals where as Zeus and Cerberus medallions are mobility and you can kill animals to get siphon with hades. It think. So ares medallion is kind of useless
Never had that problem cause we instantly go after the zeus medallion after that one

I figured it made snipers better as well since it was "long range weaponry" but it sucks since they nerfed the drop rate of snipers and upped the drop rate of dmr's

We can get away from storm tho. There is usually a dirt bike to drive away from the location

Meanwhile my casual ass is fighting three teams at once and the boss ,but still making it to the farthest circle known to man before the storm touches me.
That's why none of my teammates don't want to pick it, only me though that useful.
I always grab the medallion because any dmg increase is a plus in my book, I also loving using snipers which helps alot.
There's definitely 2 dirt bikes out front to give you zero worries about the storm lol

I think they should add a sort of ramp up mechanic, so it starts off doing 5% more, and as you do more damage it goes up to like 20/25%

Next season will have sandstorms where u have to go hide into a no combat zone that can only hold 30 players
My friend and I always land at brawlers,we pick up a blue or higher Ar and just beam the boss in a single mag, it’s really fun to do

Meanwhille there was me and my younger brother thinking it is like 20-30 % damage boost for some reseason. But mythic warforger and all of the chests are still worth landing there
Dude this medallion also restore your health and shield when you eliminate someone, It's so useful when you're dealing with multiple enemies at once and you don't have time to do health and shield!
I remember me and brother got chased across the whole map and told him “Is it really worth it” so he dropped it and still died. Never using that medallion again 😭😭
It would probably be ok to have if it just gave you the passive damage boost. The fact that it highlights you on the map is what kills it
If you use that medallion with the ranger pistol it's crazy, but of course you have to be pretty decent with the pistol
what it does is make weapons deal the damage of the next higher rarity though
and safe to say having the equivalent of a 2nd cerberus shotgun isnt something to laugh at imo
Percentages always seem to be wrong when a game updates damage or health and armour boosters, lol they always says 5.0% but like you said the damage goes from 26 to 27 so it’s more like 0.5 so you’d need to pick up multiple for them to count.
The metabolism would be pared good with the hip fire and the tac ar with the right attachments but still wouldn’t be any different

Personally I feel the only way it’s useful is if you have the dash medallion and combat medallion, however this is pretty difficult to do as they are on opposite sides of the map.

Any benefit is a benefit, there’s no drawback going for this one.
We just need the original bosses like in Chapter 2 were there weren’t so many it’s annoying to land anywhere that isn’t a boss location and the weapons feel truly good and also it no being as annoying to deal with medallion teams
Extra damage is extra damage especially when you get that someone that was quite literally one shot

Without the healing factor the only medallion I even consider carrying is Cerberus’s. The ability to quick dash is just so good. The rest don’t hold up
A 1 damage increase in exchange for showing your location to everyone is probably the worst buff you could get

The Medallion is used for long ranged weapons like snipers. If it's used with a sniper it's good.
Plus, it gives a red flash with any gun you’re using not even just a sniper
Also because it gives a fire effect and it's hard to see where your shooting

I like it in no builds just because it changes a golden sniper shot from like 124 to 127, which means 2 body shots kill instead of leaving them at one. Gone now tho rip
should get more damage increase then, because rn it’s ~1 ratity (so blue gatekeeper to purple) but if it was 2 then a blue shotgun is suddenly a golds damage and imagine having a gold weapon with better than mythic
