This was clear information. As a marbler you never 'got' it. You was verry clear about thé balancing colours and different tension.

Finally I found out why my colours always turned out somewhat pale, I followed your advice of diluting a paint and adding more ox gall and it worked! I used to add white paint (not diluted) or water with ox gall to increase surface tension, but didn’t get convincing results. I’m using paints from the brand Karin with a paste like consistency, I will experiment with the regular stirring that you mentioned. Do you think that it would also work, if I put the paints in a bottle and shake them regularly, instead of stirring? Thank you very much for sharing your precious knowledge. Your artworks are truly beautiful and unique.
To create an effect that looks like 3D water spots we add turpentine and shake vigorously so you can try this instead of stirring. Journal your process and findings 👍🏻
Thank you very much for your reply! I’m planning to start a test soon to compare the paints after having shaken them regularly for two months to a control group of the same colours, which I will just let sit for the same amount of time. If I’ll manage to stay disciplined for long enough, I’ll post an update. I wonder if this process could be automated by using those laboratory devices used to mix blood (e.g. a blood collection mixer) or some other industrial tools to continuously stir liquids. Thanks again!

Thank you! I bought a kit in Turkey and I’m having so much trouble getting the colors to run or not run. Do the paints need to be stored in the fridge? It’s about 100 degrees here.
It’s difficult to know as all paints behave differently. Which brand name does it have on the container?
