  • My buddy Johnny needed himself a smoker so we found a few scarp and corroded pieces of metal that we turned into a BBQ offset smoker. I learned a lot on this build and now I'm ready for my next. I used www.feldoncentral.com/bbqcalcu... to calculate size of pit, fire box, inlet, as well as stack height. Thank you guys for watching. I appreciate you guys for the support. Peace

    That's awesome. Projects like this make me excited that I'm going to start learning to weld this year. Thanks for the video!

    Hey brother I just subscribed. I didn't know you had a channel. I saw you using a torch on your pit at first. And I was thinking he needs to use a matobo. And then you grab matobo LOL! Cool channel keep up the work dude

      Thanks a lot man. Means a lot. Just another welder trying to get the word out like your self brother. I was trying to cut slots out of it, just to cut corners lol but decided not put so much heat on there! Thanks once again Mr. Taylor!

    Nice pit. But you might want to use a wider chimney pipe? Your Temps are gonna be hotter at firebox side. But overall a nice build.

      You might be right budd. I just went based off the formula on that website I mentioned. Homie hasn’t cooked and I’m super curious as to how it would do. You got me thinking now. 🤔

      @Weldervlog on my first large personal smoker I used 4x4 sq.tubing. I eventually swapped it out for a 6x6sq.tubing chimney. Temps evened out.

      Makes sense brother. Where do you install your temp probes?

    Try the amico power welder. I have the 160D machine and it burns 5/32 8P+’s like nothing.
    Are you capping the legs?

    • @VantageWelding

      In position? This machine also burns them in there, it just runs extremely watery. Kind if reminds me of welding with a vantage. I'm gonna look into those machines brother. Thank you

    You showed us running 7018 up hill will make it penatrate more like 6010. But we still need to leave a gap?

    • @VantageWelding
      @VantageWelding  Před 2 lety +3

      No bro. 7018 is not meant for open root. The tighter the fit the better for the 7018 weld
