Thank you 🙏 for this video I have the same exact bench in the front of my house and I really needed to get rid of the rust and paint it but did really know which is the best way to go about it, I watched your video and now I’m able to make my bench look 👀 NEW again!!!

Lu, I never thought of some of the brush falling into food being grilled. Thanks for the heads up! Love the video.

Unfortunately, you didn't remove the rust properly. You need to sand or grind the rust areas down to bare metal and then apply a primer before you paint. As this video is 3 years before my comment, you will have already seen the rust and paint bubbling reappear before now. They sell paint can handle grip style adapters that would have prevented your finger fatigue. Also, if you follow the direction on the spray can and spray with the can upside down until you see no more paint coming out, you will be able to store the can indefinitely until the next use.

Thanks. And, yes, the rust had already settled into the metal. Our goal was to squeeze a couple of more seasons from them, and we did. We have since replaced these benches, as you can see on the channel. These benches have been moved to our back garden, also in another video. Thanks for watching.
