    Man that single 0 has so much tone for such a small guitar! I think its a need

    Great comparison! I lived in Oberbessenbach and Mainaschaff in the 80’s. Hung out with Rita and Sundy if you know them.

    Great comparison. I just recently did a very similar comparison at your store looking for a smaller fingerstyle guitar and ended up choosing the CEO 7. I haven't been able to put it down since. In the store it was love at second sight, because all models were really impressively good. But now I have to say: this projection, incredible. Definitely a guitar for life!

    That CEO- 7 is one lovely sounding guitar

    The 0-18 is my favorite. I have played at least three examples and they are all warm and sweet toned instruments. Perfect for the finger style folk music I love.

    Love the ceo7! Being in Canada, and a lefty, I waited for mine to be built over a year but got it in January. Only sounding better as the months pass!

    Hi Daniel. Thank you very much for this great comparison!
    3 great guitars. My thoughts:
    - CEO-7 : very punchy (maybe i little to much when strumming for may taste) The neck should be very nice (i like the chunky necks of my strat & 335). Vintage tones.
    - 00-28 : as you said, a little scooped, with emphasis on bass an treble. Nice all arounder
    - 0-18 : very sweet tones, warmer and more mids. Very balanced. Less versatile than the 00-28. Would be perfect (for me) in 00 size
    Thanks again for the time and the great job. Very interesting and informative (you should do more videos like this with all the great guitars you have in your store 😉)
    Very helpful for a buying standpoint.

    I own the Martin O-18 but I did replace the bleached bone nut with the unbleached bone nut and changed the bleached bone saddle and ebony wood bridge pins for the fossil walrus ivory saddle and fossil walrus jawbone bridge pins. Trebles are fatter and more clarity, sustain more powerful. Harmonics, overtones and the colours and flavors of each note are superb. Neck at 5th fret is set at .oo3 inch and 12th fret E treble is. 070 inch and bass E is .090 inch. 0-18 can take heavy strumming or fingerstyle. I am so happy I made these changes.

      John, Is there a tonal difference between bleached and unbleached bone? Also, what is fossilized ivory? Thanks

    Nicely done. I think your presentation in a second language was excellent and well paced.
    I bought a CEO-7 in March 2023 and love it.

    Great demo I like them all but the 00-28 sounds better. I have had all of the guitars and like the 0-18 the best

    I am a huge fan of both 00 and 0 size guitars, and I own several very nice examples. I'm glad to see you folks in Europe still showing love for classic American guitars!
    I wonder if you have had the chance to play any of the Waterloo 00s made by Collings in Austin Texas? They were introduced about 10 years ago and became hugely popular because they were about half the price of the Collings branded equivalent sized models. However, since COVID, they have become very scarce because Collings doesn't currently have the resources to produce them in any numbers.
    Anyway, I hope you've seen/played them, as they were some of the most interesting versions of golden age 1930s 00 acoustic guitars that I have ever encountered. I ended up with three of them, in different models, as they produced quite a variety of styles. I really hope they are able to rebound and get them back into regular production again.

    Love the 00-28 and I would change out the bleached bone nut and saddle and plastic bridge pins. Change them to fossil walrus ivory nut and saddle and bridge pins.

    Definitely the CEO-7. I use mine primarily for fingerpicking, but strumming does not over-power it.

  • @arniebaird7852
    @arniebaird7852 Před rokem +1

    All three are excellent and have the "Martin sound".
    The CEO-7 is the most versatile overall, however, the 0-18 has the best fingerstyle sound with every note at equal volume to the others.
    In the end, I would choose the 00-28 neck is fits my medium hand best.

      Thanks for your comment! It´s very interesting to read about your thoughts. For medium hands I agree the modified low oval profile of the standard series would be best. :)

      I have small hands and my other guitar is a 2008 000-28 (Standard), I bought a CEO-7 3 months ago and now love the modified V neck, both guitars feel great.
      In the end it IS all about what is right for YOU, nobody else's opinion matters.

    Love the ceo-7 and 0-18 especially the picking section. Was that a cover of National Anthem by The Gaslight Anthem?

      It really IS worth it. When you look at the spec, it's a great deal, even if you are paying European prices (like I had to as I'm in UK).

    CEO-7 and OO-28 are close in tone...with some upper mid punch going to the CEO. The O-18 is in a different tone category all together. I have a 00-28, and have wanted a 0-18 for quite a while.

  • @aaronlarsen7447
    @aaronlarsen7447 Před 11 měsíci +1

    The CEO7 is more of a cross over. Sounds good plucked and strummed. It's gigable. The 0028 would beat them both, for finger style only, in a studio. The 018 is amazing for its size. It's a professionals choice for songwriting on the couch.

      That is subjective. Some prefer the sound of an untuned box, actually.
