I remember when you guys first started watching this and now here we are. Sons of Anarchy is one of my all time favorites because of how consistent it was. Amazing show to the end. Also, what was beautiful to me about this episode was that, despite everything, Tara won.
When you start SoA the last thing you think is gonna happen is you crying. Then you cry, and cry, and cry some more. I honestly think the only reason SoA wasn't the "show of the decade" was Breaking Bad, and even then it's a close second

@@johnanthony2333 Huh, that makes sense. I was close - I usually saw her as a kind of angel that is sort of guiding Jax and others to where they need to be. Perhaps the personification of destiny. But I like the OPs interpretation better than mine or Kurt Sutter's. The Grim Reaper feels like the best fit for her character.
It's so fitting that Michael Chiklis (the semi driver and star of The Shield) was driving the truck that killed Jax since The Shield was the show that opened the door for this show to be made. The Shield was the first show that FX made that pushed boundaries and gave the channel a new direction. The Shield ran so that SOA could fly. That's why I wanted you guys the watch The Shield. SO many actors in this started on The Shield. It's an equally incredible show.
The Shield is such an amazing show that never gets the proper love it deserves. I felt like Sons of Anarchy was kind of like the unconventional spin off to that show.
It's sad that The Shield doesn't get the recognition that it deserves. It was part of the wave that kicked off the Golden Age of Television, along with Sopranos and The Wire. Those two shows get lots of love, as they should, but The Shield is rarely mentioned. It seems like the only people that know about it are the ones who watched it back in the day when it aired. We need to encourage Nikki and Steven (and other reactors) to watch The Shield. If one good reactor watches it, others will copy, and a new generation will be exposed to this hidden gem.
@@mycahjofficial yeah. It really gets glossed over because Sons was so good. The Shield gets over looked the way Oz gets overlooked on HBO. Both shows were the first of their kind on those channels and showed them that that sort of show could work on TV. Oz barely gets mention when The Sopranos was the show that got the credit for the channels success. Without these great shows being successful there might not have been all these amazing shows HBO and FX made later on.
@@Inquiringmind0 Oz was the show before The Sopranos and The Wire that proved to HBO that a show like that could be successful on TV. Oz never gets any credit either. The cast on that show filled the cast lists for dozens of law & order and cop shows for the next 3 decades.
@@dustnea Yes, OZ is the original. But it's not for everybody and so it never gained the kind of popularity that Sopranos had. That is why Sopranos is credited as the first show of the Golden Age of Television era; It appealed to large audience. But OZ was definitely the precursor to that era. A kind of proof of concept.

The saddest part is that Jax letting go of the handlebars on his motorcycle is the most peaceful he’s looked in a very long time. Ever since Opie’s death, he’s been suffering
I always saw Katey Sagal as Peggy bundy until this show came along now she will always be Gemma to me. Been with you 2 since the beginning of this ride. You guys are awesome.
By allowing Gemma and Clay to be the "cause of his death" and accepting that fate JT, I believe he had faith in the fact Jax would read his Memoir, put the pieces together and put the wedge between Jax and Clay and Gemma to get his family out of the MC. In his death he was setting himself, and ultimately his family free of Gemma's grasp on their families morality. It took Jax a lot of reflection, hate, love, and grief to realize what it was his father wanted for him.
Also it's super sweet of Steven to always ask if Nikki is okay, that's like that married and been through it all kind of love, it's clear you guys get each other in that deeper way and have a good love language. It's inspiring tbh.

Ladies and gentlemen. We’ve made it. The series finale of Sons of Anarchy. And man what a finale. That song at the end (Come Join the Murder) was a perfect song to go in the ending. Just the tone.

@@anthonycampos8057 No! It was Gemma's death. Although Tara's death destroyed him, he continued to live his life and plan for a future. His mother's death was what he could not bear. Gemma was the woman of his life. After murdering her, nothing made sense to him anymore. Gemma's death kill him!!
@karinag.752 no. Tara's death fatally wounded him. His only motivation giving him drive was his quest for revenge. He slowly bled out in season 7, but finding it was his mom who did in his wife was essentially like getting stabbed in a wound that was still fresh.
@@anthonycampos8057 I don't see it that way. I think many overestimate the importance of Tara. Yes, he loved her, but not enough to want to die. I repeat, Gemma was always the great woman in Jax's life. Everything about her defined his life. Her support gave him the strength to continue, knowing that she was Tara's murderer and him murdering her, killed him. Even after everything, Jax lowered his gun, unable to shoot her. Only when Gemma told him to do it, that this is what he should do and that "it was okay", did Jax shoot. Tara was important, yes. His mother was his world, his everything!!!

After I finished the series I was really down for about a week it was almost like depression I couldn’t shake the feeling because for one, I just didn’t expect Jax to die especially the way he did, and second, I realized the show is a tell of a tragedy.. SOA is a great and unique series with a compelling story and protagonist. Jackson Nathaniel Teller is the GOAT 🐐 🤘🏻
I just wanna say thanks for posting this series. I had heard of this show for years, but after watching your reaction to the first episode I was intrigued and I binged the whole show. Then later watched it with my mom, then Mayans and then The Shield. I know own the whole series on DVDs. I want to say thank you for the ride.

Nikki was literally me when I first watched this episode. I'll fight anyone to the death and I'll die on this hill, but Sons of Anarchy is THE BEST show to ever grace television. For me, no other show I've ever watched comes anywhere near this one. Glad you guys went on this incredible ride.

Yup. I was so excited when the episode aired and I heard that wailing guitar intro. First time I saw Bruce back in the late 90's he opened with it. Up in Boston.
And there went all the money the show made throughout the years (so they could get the song). Only kidding. But I think Kurt Sutter said it was quite challenging to get permission to use the song. That's why I made the money joke.

When SOA first came out, my friends got together and watched every episode together, now we have all moved to different cities. So, once you started reacting to it, I was in for the ride to watch all over again with you two, and watched every reaction to all episodes from the beginning. It brought me back to the days I would watch it with my friends. In this situation, you both became my friends and I went through all the emotions once again with you :). I knew before I watched this show a few years back that Jax dies in the end. I thought it’d make it easier to know, but honestly it made his death even sadder. SOA is one of a kind!

It’s been a hell of a ride guys, this is the first time I’ve gone back to this show since it originally aired. It’s been great revisiting it with these reactions!
I've watched this episode a hundred times and have rewatched a bunch of reacters watch it. Recently one of them had the volume turned up and I caught something I never caught before I thought you two might appreciate. When Jax is hugging everyone? When he gets to Tig, Tig whispers something to him. This is what he whispers. "Whatever you want. I want it too." Those words add so much to the moment and Tig's personal arch.
Almost all the cast members of the Shield ended up on Sons including Michael Chiklis driving the truck on the last episode. The homeless lady some people believe she is the grim reaper, Jesus. Kurt Sutter said she represents the good and bad of Anarchy

I found your channel right before you started SOA and was so excited for this ride. You are both such a joy to watch. I know that bittersweet feeling you have right now. 45:03 - first watching this I thought it was a dumb ending BUT in reality it was a MASTERPIECE! HE WENT OUT THE SAME WAY AS HIS INFLUENTIAL FATHER IN ORDER TO STOP THE NEVER ENDING CYCLE OF VIOLENCE AND TO STOP HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF! It sounds brutal and almost heartless when Jax says "I need my sons to grow up "hating the thought of me" BUT he said this for the benefit of his sons and that he didn't want his sons growing up CONFLICTED like he was! JUST IMAGINE HOW DIFFERENT JAX WOULD HAVE BEEN IF NERO WAS HIS FATHER GROWING UP! Such a masterful and brilliant piece of story telling! I don't know if I could even think of a better storyline! Kurt Sutter is a genius! Much love guys ❤❤❤

Man it feels like y’all got here quick, one of the best shows out there in my humble opinion. Waiting for these episodes to come out used to be the highlight of my weeks
Well, we were supposed to only get one episode per week. But I think between them moving and Steven's actual job being crazy, plus maybe a little bit of a demand from subscribers, it got bumped to two episodes per week and remained like that. So if it was still one episodes per week, we'd probably be on Season 4 or 5. Also, Nikki and Steven didn't start posting to CZcams until they were at the end of Season 2 or somewhere in Season 3. So they've always been ahead of the CZcams uploads.
I remember the phone number given, when the last episode aired if you called the number it would go to voicemail with Gemma saying. “No one is here to answer the phones, because we are all fuc**ing dead”
Man, I can't believe we finished this already. It's been a wild ride. I'm so glad you chose to cover this show and enjoy it so much. I've watched it 5 times start to finish, it's timeless and so enjoyable.
What a hell of a ride it has been to follow this series reaction with you guys! From eyeballing together, to getting hyped up, kinda sad to see it end but glad to see what you guys are going to start watching in the future.
The homeless woman is an angel. We were first introduced to her in a cemetery in the Sesson 1 finale at Donna's fuberal when Jax gave back her blanket, I think the same one that she gave him in the series finale. Then, she is all over the place during the series. Charming. Oregon. Ireland. She only interacts with Gemma and Jax, and then we see in Season 6 that she was the woman killed in J.T.'s crash and the mother to the girl. The biblical references continue in this episode because when Jax sees her, she is eating bread and drinking wine. And that shows up again at the end, when there's bread on the side of the road and Jax's blood flows into frame, towards the bread.
So sad that the SOA reacts are over 😔 but it’s been a fun ride! As always thanks Nikki and Steven. I hope you guys do some behind the scenes and some “After the Ride” shows.

I watched SOA as it released and having those cliffhangers every week was torture. I found your channel when you started this series and it was exactly the same suspense level.
I think the worst cliffhangers were the finales to Season 2, 5, and 6. Mostly because we had to wait like 8-9 months for the next season. The others we just had to wait a week. It was easy to distract myself for a week.
Just want to throw up a huge thanks to you guys for reacting, I remember asking for a soa reaction while game of thrones was still going on lol. Sons, the last kingdom, and peaky blinders are 3 of my top 5 shows, after peaky blinders you guys will have watched my top 5!! This is why sons is my favorite show of all time. Followed by vikings. Ive never been so attached to characters this hard in any other show. Yes i love old shows like buffy, charmed blah blah and new ones like got and breaking bad but no story hit me this hard ever. Even with mayans mc it didnt hit the same. Perfect cast, story, soundtrack everything ❤ was so happy to be on this journey with yall. So sad to see it go
I remember thinking as I watched you review the first episode. Man, are they in for an emotional ride. With not just one character arc but several. Clay, Jemma, Opie, Piney, Tig, Juice, Bobbie were just a few of the ones that developed over the 7 seasons.

Fun Fact Venus , The D.A. and the Papa's Good's truck driver are all from a show called The Shield which is another great show and it was a show that Kurt Sutter wrote on and Kurt Sutter was the head writer and Husband in real life of Katy Sagal who played Gemma .

People say Game of Thrones is one of the top series to watch. But Sons of Anarchy is by far one of if top the most complete. Best TV series from start to finish.
You should def watch The Shield next! It's probably a complete trip to watch bitplayers from SOA as main characters on The Shield... Kohn and Paterson a cop-partners Romeo's right hand man as police chief Venus and Kozik as Strike Team members
I reccomend The Shield to everyone who loved SOA, it's just as good if not better. Kurt Sutter was one of the main writers there and you really get to see him getting good at his craft before going to SOA

My two favorite shows of all time are this one and Breaking Bad, and I love that I was able to revisit both of them with you two. It ended flawlessly, everything wrapped up in a tight little bow. The night this episode aired I was a fucking mess. Just trying not to ugly cry, but tearing up. And then Jax saying goodbye to his brothers, tears oozed. But then Jax just had to say while leaving them "I got this." That broke the floodgates and I was a basket case after until the end of the episode. Just ugly sobbing. Thank you, for watching this show. It was an honor to watch along with you.

@@Inquiringmind0 Oz was the show before The Sopranos and The Wire that proved to HBO that a show like that could be successful on TV. Oz never gets any credit either. The cast on that show filled the cast lists for dozens of law & order and cop shows for the next 3 decades.
@@dustnea Yes, OZ is the original. But it's not for everybody and so it never gained the kind of popularity that Sopranos had. That is why Sopranos is credited as the first show of the Golden Age of Television era; It appealed to large audience.
But OZ was definitely the precursor to that era. A kind of proof of concept.

I always saw Katey Sagal as Peggy bundy until this show came along now she will always be Gemma to me. Been with you 2 since the beginning of this ride. You guys are awesome.
By allowing Gemma and Clay to be the "cause of his death" and accepting that fate JT, I believe he had faith in the fact Jax would read his Memoir, put the pieces together and put the wedge between Jax and Clay and Gemma to get his family out of the MC. In his death he was setting himself, and ultimately his family free of Gemma's grasp on their families morality. It took Jax a lot of reflection, hate, love, and grief to realize what it was his father wanted for him.

@karinag.752 no. Tara's death fatally wounded him. His only motivation giving him drive was his quest for revenge. He slowly bled out in season 7, but finding it was his mom who did in his wife was essentially like getting stabbed in a wound that was still fresh.

I repeat, Gemma was always the great woman in Jax's life. Everything about her defined his life. Her support gave him the strength to continue, knowing that she was Tara's murderer and him murdering her, killed him. Even after everything, Jax lowered his gun, unable to shoot her. Only when Gemma told him to do it, that this is what he should do and that "it was okay", did Jax shoot. Tara was important, yes. His mother was his world, his everything!!!
@karinag.752 Kurt Sutter himself said, if Tara had lived Jax would've lived. He couldn't survive without her. Bobby himself told Tara that Jax couldn't survive without her.
After I finished the series I was really down for about a week it was almost like depression I couldn’t shake the feeling because for one, I just didn’t expect Jax to die especially the way he did, and second, I realized the show is a tell of a tragedy.. SOA is a great and unique series with a compelling story and protagonist. Jackson Nathaniel Teller is the GOAT 🐐 🤘🏻

I just wanna say thanks for posting this series. I had heard of this show for years, but after watching your reaction to the first episode I was intrigued and I binged the whole show. Then later watched it with my mom, then Mayans and then The Shield. I know own the whole series on DVDs. I want to say thank you for the ride.
The homeless lady was the woman that died in the car accident when John Teller died, the mother of Rat's girlfriend, she's basically just a ghost.

Nikki was literally me when I first watched this episode. I'll fight anyone to the death and I'll die on this hill, but Sons of Anarchy is THE BEST show to ever grace television. For me, no other show I've ever watched comes anywhere near this one. Glad you guys went on this incredible ride.

When SOA first came out, my friends got together and watched every episode together, now we have all moved to different cities. So, once you started reacting to it, I was in for the ride to watch all over again with you two, and watched every reaction to all episodes from the beginning. It brought me back to the days I would watch it with my friends. In this situation, you both became my friends and I went through all the emotions once again with you :). Thank you, and you both are amazing!

I knew before I watched this show a few years back that Jax dies in the end. I thought it’d make it easier to know, but honestly it made his death even sadder. SOA is one of a kind!

I've watched this episode a hundred times and have rewatched a bunch of reacters watch it. Recently one of them had the volume turned up and I caught something I never caught before I thought you two might appreciate.
When Jax is hugging everyone? When he gets to Tig, Tig whispers something to him. This is what he whispers.
"Whatever you want. I want it too."
Those words add so much to the moment and Tig's personal arch.
Almost all the cast members of the Shield ended up on Sons including Michael Chiklis driving the truck on the last episode. The homeless lady some people believe she is the grim reaper, Jesus. Kurt Sutter said she represents the good and bad of Anarchy

45:03 - first watching this I thought it was a dumb ending BUT in reality it was a MASTERPIECE! HE WENT OUT THE SAME WAY AS HIS INFLUENTIAL FATHER IN ORDER TO STOP THE NEVER ENDING CYCLE OF VIOLENCE AND TO STOP HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF!
It sounds brutal and almost heartless when Jax says "I need my sons to grow up "hating the thought of me" BUT he said this for the benefit of his sons and that he didn't want his sons growing up CONFLICTED like he was!
JUST IMAGINE HOW DIFFERENT JAX WOULD HAVE BEEN IF NERO WAS HIS FATHER GROWING UP! Such a masterful and brilliant piece of story telling! I don't know if I could even think of a better storyline! Kurt Sutter is a genius! Much love guys ❤❤❤

Man it feels like y’all got here quick, one of the best shows out there in my humble opinion. Waiting for these episodes to come out used to be the highlight of my weeks
Well, we were supposed to only get one episode per week. But I think between them moving and Steven's actual job being crazy, plus maybe a little bit of a demand from subscribers, it got bumped to two episodes per week and remained like that. So if it was still one episodes per week, we'd probably be on Season 4 or 5. Also, Nikki and Steven didn't start posting to CZcams until they were at the end of Season 2 or somewhere in Season 3. So they've always been ahead of the CZcams uploads.
I remember the phone number given, when the last episode aired if you called the number it would go to voicemail with Gemma saying. “No one is here to answer the phones, because we are all fuc**ing dead”
Man, I can't believe we finished this already. It's been a wild ride. I'm so glad you chose to cover this show and enjoy it so much. I've watched it 5 times start to finish, it's timeless and so enjoyable.

From eyeballing together, to getting hyped up, kinda sad to see it end but glad to see what you guys are going to start watching in the future.
The homeless woman is an angel. We were first introduced to her in a cemetery in the Sesson 1 finale at Donna's fuberal when Jax gave back her blanket, I think the same one that she gave him in the series finale.
Then, she is all over the place during the series. Charming. Oregon. Ireland. She only interacts with Gemma and Jax, and then we see in Season 6 that she was the woman killed in J.T.'s crash and the mother to the girl.
The biblical references continue in this episode because when Jax sees her, she is eating bread and drinking wine. And that shows up again at the end, when there's bread on the side of the road and Jax's blood flows into frame, towards the bread.
So sad that the SOA reacts are over 😔 but it’s been a fun ride! As always thanks Nikki and Steven. I hope you guys do some behind the scenes and some “After the Ride” shows.
A brilliant (if heart-breaking) end to an amazing series. I hope Nikki has tissues ready.

I watched SOA as it released and having those cliffhangers every week was torture. I found your channel when you started this series and it was exactly the same suspense level.
I think the worst cliffhangers were the finales to Season 2, 5, and 6. Mostly because we had to wait like 8-9 months for the next season. The others we just had to wait a week. It was easy to distract myself for a week.
Just want to throw up a huge thanks to you guys for reacting, I remember asking for a soa reaction while game of thrones was still going on lol. Sons, the last kingdom, and peaky blinders are 3 of my top 5 shows, after peaky blinders you guys will have watched my top 5!! This is why sons is my favorite show of all time. Followed by vikings. Ive never been so attached to characters this hard in any other show. Yes i love old shows like buffy, charmed blah blah and new ones like got and breaking bad but no story hit me this hard ever. Even with mayans mc it didnt hit the same. Perfect cast, story, soundtrack everything ❤ was so happy to be on this journey with yall. So sad to see it go

I remember thinking as I watched you review the first episode. Man, are they in for an emotional ride. With not just one character arc but several. Clay, Jemma, Opie, Piney, Tig, Juice, Bobbie were just a few of the ones that developed over the 7 seasons.

I have been waiting for you guys to see this and the last episode . Fun Fact Venus , The D.A. and the Papa's Good's truck driver are all from a show called The Shield which is another great show and it was a show that Kurt Sutter wrote on and Kurt Sutter was the head writer and Husband in real life of Katy Sagal who played Gemma .

I reccomend The Shield to everyone who loved SOA, it's just as good if not better. Kurt Sutter was one of the main writers there and you really get to see him getting good at his craft before going to SOA
@@GabrielTorres-fl2xo I actually started watching SOA because Sutter wrote some of my favorite Shield episodes. I think Katey Segal was also in a couple episodes of the Shield. Even Ally Walker (Stahl) popped up in a guest spot....
My two favorite shows of all time are this one and Breaking Bad, and I love that I was able to revisit both of them with you two. It ended flawlessly, everything wrapped up in a tight little bow. The night this episode aired I was a fucking mess. Just trying not to ugly cry, but tearing up. And then Jax saying goodbye to his brothers, tears oozed. But then Jax just had to say while leaving them "I got this." That broke the floodgates and I was a basket case after until the end of the episode. Just ugly sobbing. Thank you, for watching this show. It was an honor to watch along with you.
