    Great video , i been learning from your front hand pump and it work so well.
    So the back hand weight shift also front back front right, because i saw when you pump back hand on heel your weight on your front foot ( when you impulse)
    Waiting for your more update videos 😊

      Hey there - thanks for your comment! I don't go into depth here because there's quite a lot going on... shifting my weight between the back leg and front, compressing when I land (and keeping my weight forward) and using my arms to help rotate my hips.
      I've explained this in detail, with a step-by-step process, in my online course which will be launching in the next 2 weeks. If you're interested - you can sign up to the waitlist here and get an earlybird discount too :) makosurfskate.com/online-course

    • @MAKOSurfskate
      @MAKOSurfskate  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hey there! Thanks for the comment, and yeah of course...
      So if you're starting out, I'd recommend you practice first with pushing switch. This will help you tons as it will help you understand weight distribution between the front and back foot.
      It's not gonna feel comfortable - I've been doing it for a while and it still feels weird to me - but it's a really amazing feeling when it starts to click! And I've noticed that getting better at switch has improved my regular stance loads too, so I'd always encourage practicing as much as you can.
      Let me know how you get on and if you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to help.

    Thanks for the video. When you pump backside on your surfskate, it looks like you are also pumping frontside a bit. I guess that it's not possible on water because then you are either front or back sided (I'm not a surfer) but on a surfskate I suppose it's possible on a flat surface, isn't it? It could bring even more momentum and acceleration.

    • @MAKOSurfskate
      @MAKOSurfskate  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey Pierric, thanks for the comment! I’m not exactly sure what you mean, which part of the backside pumping looks frontside?
      Maybe its the way I distribute my weight - of course there are similarities between frontside and backside, the biggest difference is when you extend backside, you extend onto your heels. When you extend frontside, you extend onto your toes.
      Does that clarify things for you? If you want any specific feedback, just film yourself on your phone and you can send it to my instagram and I’ll give you some personal feedback. Thanks!

    • @pierricdelaborie2838
      @pierricdelaborie2838 Před rokem

      @@MAKOSurfskate Thank you for your reply and sorry for my very late answer. Thanks also for your kind proposal, I'll try to film myself (the harder will be to post it on your Instagram as I have never used it, but I'll try! :). Actually filming is the best way to improve although it can be a bit disappointing sometimes :)
      What I meant is that when you backside pump, I can see you extend on your heels (so when turning to the left for a regular stance), but then when going to the right you seem to do also a 'mini' frontside pump by shortly compressing and extending on the toes. which is cool because it feels like this way you pump and extend on both sides, making the most of it and probably gaining more momentum. I also tend to do that when I want to accelerate faster, at least this is how I feel it.
