- Experience the drama of the auction house as five bidders battle it out for Gerhard Richter’s desolately beautiful Iceberg. Painted in 1982 it is the largest of only three Iceberg paintings Richter based on photographs taken during a journey through the icy straights of Greenland in 1972. The painting lead a stellar night for post-war German art in what overall was the third highest total ever for a Sotheby’s London Contemporary Sale.
