I was just going to make a dumb little bloopers video, but I've had so many people asking me what software I used and how I recorded and edited that I decided to do a quick once-over of my project file before I delete everything. I realize it's very brief and not very explanatory, but hopefully it's enough to help somebody out there. It's nothing too complicated anyhow.
I used lots of masking and manual layer syncing for the transitions between Altair, Ezio, and Desmond. It amounts to nothing majorly difficult on the technical side, just time consuming trying to find exact frames of animation and matching speeds/velocity across games. - Hry

I find you astounding.
I mean just this video alone, which seems somewhat like a blooper video, is perfectly synced with the music, edited amazingly and just pure awesome.

Having used Sony Vegas myself, i found this rather interesting. (And hilarious; the captions on the glitches made my day all that much better)

It was really awesome to this behind-the-scenes vid. I especially lol'd at the flailing glitch. I've only had that happen to me once (I play on the 360) and I spent a good 5 minutes just laughing at how ridiculous it was. Thanks again for the awesome vids. It's really inspiring to see what is possible with the determination you must have had to do the video, and then show us this one as well.
The how-to part is just so.....FUCKING mad awesome! This video inspired me to improve my sony vegas skills and eventually make something that I hope to be even 1/10th as good as beautiful lies. You've got great video editing skills, and you're amongst the most talented sony vegas users I've ever seen!

You probably hear this every day, but I have never even seen similar editing to this, you truely are a genius. You have produced a video project, something that requires patience and hard work. That's amazing work man! When I first saw the video I thought I want to do something like it, but since I only had vegas I thought I would have to devote tremendous amounts of time. Seeing that you used Vegas too gives me hope that no matter how time consuming badass can be born from it lol
dude, i'd just to say thanks a bunch for making this vid. I first watched your AC gmv and was so impressed. when i saw that you made a tutorial to how you made it, i was ecstatic! Even though it was somewhat vague, it was still informative. i have sony vegas 10 so i sort of understand all the weird shit of buttons. I have still have a ton of questions, but it'd be pretty long to ask em all so itsk. but good job, great song choices and any advice to a newbie video editer like me would be kool :)

are there any tutorials you could possible direct me to. I'm an avid video maker myself and can get great shots but lack the editing know how beyond simple edits to make something anywhere near your Epic level. I see you've gone through which plug ins you've used etc, any chance of a PM from your good self with a few tips / links if you know of any good tuts? Many thanks and epic video sir!

The first minute is downright priceless, a peak into the maestro's mind. I've watched your videos many many times throughout the years and I'm still not even close to your skill level when it comes to editing. When I first watched this how-to, it looked like god's work to me, but now at least I can understand what you were doing, though not being able to do it myself. I can recreate sequences with masked transitions plus similar pace and sync to background music. But the amount of masks and spotlight manipulations and color grading is crazy. I still don't know how you created the light on the wall of the building at 0:53, is it keyframed spotlight with a hand made mask (to create a 3d effect where the light is moving on the wall but it's actually 2d?)? How did you create the effect where Altair jumped off the sync point of Acre? Is it optical distortion and RGB slits? And it looks like you also created many assets in Photoshop, like the animus lights and such, great work & mad respect!

Hey, nice video and stuff, loved both of them, but btw, i have a newbie question for you D: How can you do that opacity settings like the ones in 0:45? like having the clip fading away and then coming back without the need to cut the clip. I guess that you need to press some key and then drag the opacity line, but i cant find it out.
You would help me a lot if you answer me, since i cant find a freaking tutorial or something anywhere else lol

I switched to Adobe Premiere mainly due to not having enough options in Sony Vegas 7.0c. You made me curious though, what plug-ins do you have installed and how did you get them, if I might ask? I think I still prefer Sony Vegas 7.0c over Adobe Premiere CS5, mainly because it's easier somehow. Anyway, I love the AC games and that little video of yours left me in amazement, so I'm going to subscribe to you and enjoy more of your masterpieces. Keep them coming mate!
