- Should Irish children be taught about Gaza in school?
The group Teachers for Palestine has proposed a two-week campaign to bring awareness to events in Gaza.
Conall O’Dufaigh from Teachers for Palestine told Newstalk: “Our goal is to bring awareness to the plight of Palestinians - this is something that has been raised with us by our students”.
Former Justice Minister Alan Shatter told Newstalk Breakfast that the campaign would “brainwash children” and “incite anti-Semitism”.

Teach them to listen to gript media instead of newstalk and the struggles we went through to be a sovereign country and how their futures are being throwin away.

Children should have a well rounded education, including a well rounded knowledge of history, with Irish being first but also European, the rest of the Western world but also middle Eastern. Teaching historic facts, not current events.

If you are going to teach about Gaza, they need to tell the whole story, not selective editing and revision bias history like Sínn Féin do about the IRA.
The facts about the colonization of Palestine are pretty clear. There isnt much dispute about the facts, only about whether the ethnic cleansing of the indigenous is justified or not.
