  • Marc Elliot knows adversity firsthand. He was born with a rare disease that left him with virtually no intestines, and at age nine he developed a neurological disorder, Tourette's Syndrome, that manifested with physical and vocal outbursts called tics. In any given day, Marc would experience upwards of 3,500 tics, totaling approximately 25 million over the course of his 20-year struggle with the disorder. Remarkably, in 2013, after taking courses with Executive Success Programs, Marc completely overcame his Tourette's by using mind over body. Now 28 years old, Marc lives tic-free. He was named 2011 College Speaker of the Year by Campus Activities Magazine, is the author of What Makes You Tic?: My Journey From Tourette's To Tolerance, and has reached nearly one million people with his message of tolerance.

Congrats for this very inspiring video. This kind of empowerment should be taught to everyone, with Tourette or any kind of adversity. The power to change your life is indeed in your own hand.

My Grand Son has just been diagnosed genetically afflicted with Tourettes, missing a certain chromosone , he is exibiting "tics" and the Dr said in 9 mos it will get noticebly worst. I pray thanking God using good people like this to help calm the fear to have hope. Mr Elliot is there anything more I can or my family can do to help this beautiful boy, who recently scored a 110 on his IQ test.

I started to experience some tics with my involuntary mouth movements around 2017. I somehow can overcome it by praying.

So I feel like this was meant to provide hope but with no explanation of how he has gained control of his Tourette's it leaves me a bit frustrated as I'm going through medication changes to try to find a way to minimize my tics and in turn minimize my headaches from the constant barrage of tics.

No.. it’s not. Marc still promotes Keith Raniere and his NXIVM cult as the cure for his Tourette’s even after all of the crimes have come to light and Keith was sentenced to 120 years behind bars. All of these talks were part of Marc’s and Keith’s plans to recruit more people into the cult. I would highly consider taking this video down. He is a fraud. I also went to middle school & high school with Marc and his family so I know what he was like in the past. Please consider taking down this video.

Yes, there's not way to "make them go away," but there are medications that can lesson symptoms, and they can fade away over time.

He did not show much footage of his tics or at what age he was. You can grow out of those tics in many cases. When he met keith for the very first time, were his tics as bad as it shows in this video? I

I absolutely don't believe that simply changing your perspective on how much bullying hurts will make it go away. It will hurt no matter what. That's like saying "sticks and bones don't break bones and words can never hurt me." I think the belief system is a great story, but cannot be equated to bullying. You are negating all the research and work people do to overcome issues with bullying. Your message degrades the impact of bullying issues.
