I really doubt this was a decision the child came to.
she clearly struggles with that type of attention and has limited verbal communication. really isn't appropriate.

Natasha Mcilveen Do you really think people with Down syndrome are so dumb that they can’t have a dream? Madeline wanted to be a model and she can do anything she puts her mind to. Do some research

MMMM not sure what to make of this. Obviously her daughters congnitive skills are about 4 or 5 years. This is her mothers agenda, Madeline can hardly speak, so whoes ambition is this her mothers. And for going to Uganda, I think they need (communiy development) a local person to raise awareness, so wrong on all levels

And she says Madeline does not need emotional support, not many 19 years old hold their mothers hands

This interview doesn't show her best side but in other interviews Madeleine is quite comfortable in this type of environment and looks like she honestly loves it.

I am fully aware she has a disability, her fotos are now distributed to porn sites. I have a cousin with the same cognitive skill level as Madeline. This is expolitation. Her mother is rich, and she is pushing this agenda. As for Uganda, as in my original comment, to effectively engage change in a countries attitude towards 'disability' needs to be focussed towards local people making changes ie LOCAL AGENTS OF CHANGE.
A charity who drops in and promotes their 'changes' promotes the charity rather than the change the country needs in their attitudes towards disability.
I am mixed race, and I feel (my grandmother is Nigerian/spanish, granfather Morocaan/Spanish) I would not connect with a girl from Australia, who would not understand the local culture etc, apart from the obvious socio economic differences, the people of Uganda I am sure will find their own heroes, not a girl from another background, socio-economic and culture who is basically controlled by her mother (you should see some of her photos).
I hope Uganda find their own heroes, because charities who drop in and out, do not make effective change

OMG What has she done to the poor girl! I saw the documentary about her being 20 and now she looks like really gone backwards really bad. To see her here feels horrible. She doesn´t seem aware at all what's going on here. She is making faces, looking just down or around, being in another world. The mother is pushing her hand to keep her straight up while looking like she is heavily drugged. Can´t anyone stop this horrible greedy woman of using the poor girl like that?

Absolutely incredible...Simply incredible. It's children like this who set good examples and are the greatest inspirations for all people, especially those with disabilities, to succeed and climb the highest mountain all over the world. Even though she may not be able to communicate like most others, she appears to have more class, humility and a true passion for this work than most any other model I've seen. She is destined for the ultimate fabulous. Hats off to the Mum for making the enormous sacrifice to make her daughter's dream come true. She is the best 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌠🌠🌠⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🌌

She is talking about the child's comment when younger, that she wanted to be a model. How many children doesn´t say that but have to realize later in life that they don´t have what it takes. Maddy doesn´t have what it takes so why should the mother push her in that. Yes, we all know why, but why are the people around not stopping this obvious abuse of the child.
Of course, it might be good PR for the fashion industry to pretend being compassionate, politically correct and showing goodwill, but they should not let it continue, especially after seeing this.
In the earlier documentary, the mother complained about people using the word "retired", she did not like it, but look at the poor girl here. She is obviously retired. And the interviewer here, should not have put up to this. I am truly horrified!
